Chapter 363: The Treasure
Chapter 363: The Treasure
Titan Nexus, Middle Ring.
Julia Roll, a member of the Roll Family, sat cross-legged in a stone chamber, surrounded by various items she had meticulously arranged.
Like others, she intended to harness the power of the Titan Nexus to manipulate time and break through her current cultivation realm, advancing to the Third Circle Wizard.
However, Julia had a different approach.
Instead of depleting her lifespan or pushing her physical potential to the limit, she sought external substitutes.
There were potions that could replace one's lifespan, magic potions that required years of refining to be effective, and more...
Under normal circumstances, refining these external substitutes would take at least a century or two. But with the power of the Titan Nexus, the process could be expedited.
Not only would this help Julia break through her current cultivation level, but it would also solidify her foundation in the Second Plane.
The only drawback was the extreme rarity of these magic potions, making them inaccessible to most Second Circle Wizards, let alone the opportunity to collect and possess them.
Outside.
Theodore frowned slightly at the closed stone door, then turned his attention to other areas.
"There should be many treasures here that Viper Academy hasn't explored yet. Let's search everywhere."
"Yes."
Theodore, a Second Circle Wizard himself, had not yet reached the peak of his cultivation and lacked external substitutes to aid his advancement.
While he could also benefit from the power of the Titan Nexus, depleting his lifespan and pushing his potential seemed like a poor trade-off.
The Roll Family had better ways to assist his advancement.
As he had said, this opportunity was meant for Julia.
Time passed.
"Swoosh..."
A faint white light enveloped a figure, cutting through the temporal turbulence of the outer plane and landing on the platform.
"Hmm?"
Theodore, bored out of his mind, flickered his eyes and appeared before the figure, looking surprised:
"Aksha?"
The figure was pale, with blackened lips, and a deep gash on his chest—it was none other than Aksha, the Dean of Viper Academy.
Aksha struggled to prop himself up, his lips trembling:
"Ro...Roll Family?"
"Indeed." Theodore's eyes glinted:
"How did the Dean end up in such a state?"
"The Abyssal Cottage and the Demon Hunter Corps invaded Viper Academy's Star Realm Outpost, using underhanded means to poison me." Aksha's face darkened:
"I seek the Roll Family's assistance."
"..." Theodore stroked his chin, hesitating:
"This matter..."
"We agree!"
Before he could finish, the stone door behind him burst open, and Julia, who had already advanced to the Third Rank and solidified her foundation, stepped out.
She nodded at Aksha:
"I owe the Dean a favor for my successful breakthrough here. Helping in times of need is the least I can do."
"However..."
"The Roll Family needs authorization to develop this place in the future."
Aksha's eyes darkened.
If the Roll Family got involved, what chance did he have with the Titan Nexus? Centuries of time would be wasted.
"Heh..." Julia noticed his expression and chuckled:
"Dean, the Titan Nexus is now like a sieve. You can't possibly think you still have full control over it, can you?"
"It's better to partner with the Roll Family than let others benefit. At least you'll retain some control, and your chances of advancing to the Fourth Circle remain high."
She glanced back, indicating the location of their enemies.
"Good!"
Aksha took a deep breath:
"Help me with this trouble, and in the future, Viper Academy and the Roll Family will jointly develop the Titan Nexus."
"Pfft!"
Before he could finish, the poison in his body acted up, causing him to spit out blood. He struggled to stabilize his breath and said:
"I've been poisoned by ghost poison, and my consciousness is distorted. I can no longer control the Titan Nexus, but I managed to activate it in a low-speed state, restricting Sorceress Cheri's movement."
"Dean." Julia spoke up:
"You can't expect us to stop a Fourth Circle Wizard. Where are your research materials?"
Aksha clenched his fists.
He had studied the Titan Nexus for centuries, even at the expense of his cultivation, and had made significant progress.
For instance, Julia and her team's entry was with his tacit consent. Without it, even members of the Roll Family would have struggled to locate the Starrealm Coordinates.
Additionally, Aksha could observe and utilize their techniques within the Titan Nexus, which enabled him to escape and reach this place first.
And so on...
"Good!"
Aksha closed his eyes and threw a book forward:
"Everything is in this book, but be cautious. There's a traitor in the academy, and Sorceress Cheri might also have some knowledge about the Titan Nexus.
"Hmm..." Julia raised an eyebrow.
"Why isn't the Dean traveling with us?"
"No." Aksha gritted his teeth.
"I need to go somewhere to get an antidote first."
Without the antidote,
he would die!
"What's going on?"
The flying ship, en route to the Outer Ring, suddenly veered off its original course, its bow turning around.
Linen, who was controlling the ship, was taken aback and turned to look at the White Crow.
Among the three, the White Crow had followed the Dean of Viper Academy, Aksha, for hundreds of years, making it the most familiar with this place.
"The Titan Core has been activated."
As expected, the White Crow knew. Its three eyes flashed, and its voice was filled with anxiety:
"Aksha activated the Titan Core to prevent Witch Cheri from catching up, but we can't get out either."
"We can't get out?" Linen was taken aback:
"What do you mean?"
"Although the Titan Core is located in the Star Realm, you can also think of it as a separate world. It doesn't directly connect back to the Calim Continent." Gear Jack explained:
"We need to leave the range of the Titan Core's power first before we can return to the mortal realm from the Star Realm."
"Now that the Titan Core is running, the Inner, Middle, and Outer Rings are sealed, so we can't get out either."
"The key is..."
6◇9◇Book◇Bar
He sighed helplessly:
"The temporal turbulence will become even more chaotic!"
"What do we do now?" Linen looked at the flying ship spinning around, feeling helpless, and patted his forehead:
"Leave it to fate?"
"That's interesting, but wizards don't believe in fate." The Three-Eyed White Crow fanned its wings:
"Let's go to Aksha's treasure vault."
"Only I know where it is, and it's absolutely safe. At least, no one will find it for a while."
"Let's go!"
It threw out a feather, which pointed straight to a direction in the turbulence. Linen maneuvered the ship to follow.
Gear Jack spoke up:
"Is the Dean there too?"
"No." The White Crow shook its head:
"He went to find the Roll Family."
The Roll Family?
Jack glanced at Linen.
"That's not surprising."
Linen shrugged:
"In the Titan Core, with the Dean injured, the only ones who can stand against Witch Cheri are the Roll Family."
"That's not certain."
The White Crow and Jack exchanged a glance, and Jack spoke:
"Viper Academy isn't as simple as you think, but ordinary wizards will definitely not fare well."
As he spoke, he looked ahead.
A wizard, for some reason, was caught in the temporal turbulence. Accompanied by a painful scream, their life force was instantly exhausted, and their body turned into dry bones at a visible rate, then disintegrated into ashes.
As if a thousand years had passed in an instant.
All three of them turned pale.
Even a Third Rank Wizard only has a thousand years of lifespan, and falling into temporal turbulence would undoubtedly be fatal.
"Let's go!"
Linen accelerated the ship and rushed forward.
Soon.
The ship stopped at an inconspicuous broken platform on the Outer Ring, and the three hurriedly disembarked and rushed inward.
"This is Aksha's treasure vault. As long as we hide in there, we can avoid the temporal turbulence."
Ahead was a place resembling a canyon, lush with greenery and occasional bursts of spiritual light.
Gear Jack took the lead, but was repelled by an invisible force just a few dozen meters from the canyon.
"It's not that simple?"
The White Crow flapped its wings, and a tremor enveloped the two of them.
"There's a wizardry barrier set up by Aksha. Even a Third Rank Wizard would have a hard time getting in."
"Watch me!"
Its wings vibrated, and its eyes glowed with spiritual light. It weaved through the canyon entrance.
The White Crow's figure darted east and west, up and down, following a certain trajectory, and then suddenly surged forward.
"Swoosh!"
The area ahead suddenly lit up.
The dazzling light and colorful smoke filled the air, and countless wizardry materials were piled together, emitting a misty aura.
"Gulp..."
Jack's throat rolled:
"I knew the Dean was stingy, like the treasure-hoarding dragon race. I didn't expect him to be such a hoarder!"
"Don't touch anything." The White Crow reminded:
"These things are all protected by Aksha's barrier. Once touched, he will sense it, and he won't let us off easily."
However, Linen didn't look at the wizardry materials but instead focused on the open-style Nine-Layer Wizard Tower ahead.
Each layer of the wizard tower contained several items that would make any wizard's heart race.
Fourth Ring Infernal Flame!
Third Ring Heritage Wizard Tool!
Fifth Ring Creature Scale!
