Chapter 360: A Hundred Years
Chapter 360: A Hundred Years
Hmph!"
As Lin En walked into the stone house, Theodore scoffed, well aware of his half-sister Julia's intentions.
Recruitment!
And with an unprecedented sincerity.
Julia, being the daughter of a noble family, had a sister to Theodore shared a father with, had always wanted to find a suitable husband for their younger sister, who had been frail and sickly since childhood.
Lin En seemed like the perfect match.
Should Lin En marry their sister, Julia would undoubtedly provide substantial support for his cultivation.
With her help, he might not only reach the Second Circle but even aspire to become a Third Circle Wizard, leaving behind the confines of the Viper Academy and its small-town reputation.
Unfortunately, Lin En's hesitation caused him to miss this opportunity.
"A seventeen-year-old at the First Circle Peak..."
Julia shook her head lightly, "What a pity!"
Even in the esteemed Roll Family, few could boast such cultivation at seventeen.
At least, neither she nor her brother had achieved this.
Lin En's experiences were extraordinary, but his age and cultivation level were undeniable facts.
This piqued Julia's interest.
"He's seventeen now, but that won't last forever," Theodore smiled, "While compressing one's lifespan to increase the chances of breakthrough is effective, it depletes one's foundation. Without a solid base, the likelihood of becoming a Third Circle Wizard is nearly impossible."
"Moreover..."
"He cultivates the Great Flame Bloodline Heritage!"
Julia nodded slowly.
For Lin En to advance, he would likely sacrifice decades of his lifespan, only then reaching the Second Circle.
If he succeeded, he would be a Second Circle Wizard in his forties.
If he failed, he would have squandered his lifespan.
A seventeen-year-old with boundless potential at the First Circle Peak, or a Second Circle Wizard in his forties—the Roll Family's preference was clear.
Had Lin En accepted Julia's offer, the Roll Family would have provided opportunities for advancement without the need to expend the Titan Heart.
"Miss," a wizard trained by the Roll Family approached, "It's ready."
"Good," Julia snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the stone platform nearby, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Can we enter the Inner Ring?"
"Not certain yet," the wizard shook his head, "But we can enter the Second Circle, an unexplored region of the Viper Academy. There might be unexpected discoveries."
"Unexpected discoveries?" Theodore's curiosity piqued. "What could be in the Second Circle of the Titan Core?"
"You're right, young master," the wizard nodded. "According to our investigation, the Titan Core was likely built by a wise Beastfolk as a war fortress. It not only holds the mysteries of the Sixth Rank but also had inhabitants in the Inner, Second, and Outer Rings.
Something happened to them, causing their sudden demise in a single night, which led to the rupture of the Third Circle. The Titan Core, now devoid of its master, drifted aimlessly in the Astral Plane until its discovery.
"The unexplored Second Circle might hold belongings of its former residents," Theodore mused.
"Let's go," Julia stepped forward, "First, we'll advance to Third Circle Wizards, then see if we can enter the Inner Ring. Since the ancestors of our family sent me here, there must be a chance to get close to the Titan Core. Advancing to the Third Circle won't require too much effort."
She glanced at Theodore, "As a favor to Father, I'll allow you to come along, but keep your hands off my belongings."
"Or else..."
"Don't blame me for being ruthless!"
Theodore shrugged.
"Master of Essence!"
"King of Ten Thousand Forms!"
"God of Taiwei!"
Inside the stone house, Lin En knelt on a flower pattern drawn with magical stones, chanting divine names.
In the next moment, a faint light appeared, and the true form of Karl transcended worlds, arriving in this star domain.
A peculiar emotion stirred within them both.
Linen was merely a thought of Karl's, but his body and memories retained their independence.
It was like...
When one sits quietly to observe their thoughts, how are the observer and the thoughts themselves defined?
If they were independent entities, the two would undoubtedly be vastly different.
Karl, having experienced much, had long cultivated a mental fortitude as unwavering as mountains. Each thought was like a pearl, pure and translucent. Linen, on the other hand, had a more lively temperament, still very much a mortal.
"Ahem..."
Linen cleared his throat, speaking as if to himself, but also asking a question:
"With the complete Great Flame Bloodline Heritage in our possession, what should we do next?"
"Fire!"
Karl spoke:
"Refine the flames."
"The Great Flame Bloodline Heritage doesn't originate from the Wizard World. The records of the Nine Radiant Extreme Fires can prove this. In theory, this heritage can refine all flames, including the Divine Flame."
"..." Linen pursed his lips:
"So, you've had this plan all along. But the Divine Flame is at least a Fourth Rank, it won't be easy."
"I've observed countless laws, and with the insights from the Great Flame Bloodline, I can deduce the technique to refine the Divine Flame given enough time." Karl's expression remained unchanged:
"In another world, a demigod had also mastered the Divine Flame. If they could, so can we."
"As for time..."
He gazed at the Titan Core through the stone cabin:
"Our guided fate has brought us here, and that's the answer."
"Um..." Linen hesitated:
"What should I do next?"
"Cultivate."
Karl retracted his gaze:
"I'll manipulate the temporal power here, so you can also experience the sensation of a year passing inside while only a day goes by outside."
"With a hundred years of consumption, you should be able to advance your cultivation to a Third Circle Wizard, right?"
That's a tough one!
Linen silently pondered for a moment.
Cultivation with the Great Flame Bloodline was incredibly slow, and without a high-level bloodline, it was painfully tedious.
A hundred years.
Even reaching the Second Circle would be a struggle.
But after a glance at Karl, Linen instantly understood his intention and nodded:
"With the resources you've gathered, it should be possible."
"Good."
Karl sat cross-legged in the center of the cabin:
"Let's begin!"
As he spoke, he snapped his fingers, and the temporal power in the room suddenly intensified, with an invisible force field starting to permeate the space.
Normally,
When cultivating here, one wouldn't sense the difference in time flow. A day outside would feel like a day inside.
Of course, that wasn't actually the case.
The flow of time would be elongated, and while a day passed outside, a year might have gone by inside.
And during this 'year,' as one's cultivation increased, it would create the illusion of a sudden surge in power.
Now,
Through Karl's spellcasting, Linen could also perceive the altered time flow, a year for a year.
"Whoosh!"
A pile of supplies was tossed out.
Linen's lips twitched.
Indeed, being the main body of a world, despite the limited energy cap, he had accumulated so many valuable resources.
Hmm...
Linen's gaze shifted to Karl.
'The flow of time in my body seems different from his. A hundred years for me might be four to five hundred years for him.'
Absolutely!
Karl had already adjusted his time flow to its limit and was now deducing the cultivation method of the Great Flame Bloodline.
Name: Karl
Essence Force: 199
Cultivation: Lower Deity of the Fourth Rank
Essence: 7600
Long ago, Karl had reached the Lower Deity's limit, his Essence Force reaching an astonishing 199 points.
After slaying countless Dark Deity's companions, his Essence soared to 7600 points. However, further advancement required a breakthrough in his realm, and simply accumulating more Essence had limited use.
"Essence can not only enhance cultivation power but also be used to deduce cultivation techniques. With this much Essence, I can deduce the Great Flame Bloodline Heritage as I envision it!"
In a flash.
A hundred years passed.
