Chapter 36: His sun.
Two days later, in the cafeteria.
"Is it only me or is training suddenly getting longer and tedious?", Helen asked with a pout.
"Don't ask me. Speaking of tedious, I have to meet with the psychologist this afternoon, she's returning today. I also have a training session with Alex this evening. Between the both of us, I think I have more work on my hands", Allison replied.
"Lucky you. Agent Walters is the best fighter around here".
"I guess being in the third group has its perks".
She ceased speaking and let her eyes dart around the cafeteria and soon enough, she saw a single boy sitting by himself in a corner of the cafeteria, with headphones on. "Who is that?"
Helen followed her gaze. "No, you don't. Adrian Williams is not a person you want to sit down with over coffee".
"And why is that?"
"First of all, look where he's sitting. Away from people. He's in the third group but his parents did something that made everyone stay from him".
"What did they do? It's not like everyone's parents in the third group are innocent".
"His parents are the leaders of a group that directly assassinated the president of this country. So, everyone thinks he was part of it. Maybe because of the stigma,he became known as the bad boy of shadow. He beats people up if things don't go his way. Look at him the wrong way, you also get beaten up for that too. You have no idea how many times that boy has been sent to Agent Walters. He is also a heartbreaker, directly under brother dearest. But he's been frequenting the psychologist so his activities reduced a bit. I wonder how he managed to survive without her for almost a week".
"That's great. We can be therapy buddies. Now, I'm definitely going to talk to him".
"Come to our table. You already have me, what do you need another friend for?"
"I'm just taking your advice. You told me to stay away from Everett".
"Using my own words against me. Not cool, Allie. Not cool".
"Don't worry. It's not like I'm breaking an expensive nail polish or lip gloss".
"Haha. Not funny".
"Wish me luck".
Allison immediately made her way to his table. Just when she was about to reach him, she stopped. She took in a deep breath, as if to reassure herself, then moved on. "Hey, I'm Allison".
The boy in question just raised his head, wanting to see who had the guts to disturb him. About to yell at him or her, he stopped short when he registered her face. She was smiling at him like she didn't care about his reputation. Sunlight fell on her face and she looked exquisite. He felt something in him crack, and she felt like the sun melting his cold heart. She was his sun. But Adrian was the badboy of Shadow for a reason.
"I suggest you leave if you don't want your reputation to be tainted".
"Well, I don't care", she was about to sit down when he hissed.
"I didn't tell you to sit".
"I'm going to".
"You're not".
Allison was pissed. "I am".
"Then, I will leave first".
And he left her standing there with mouth agape. Across the cafeteria, she saw Helen giving her a wave that said 'I told you so'.
"Whatever".
