Chapter 359: 'Voyager' Feng Ye
Chapter 359: 'Voyager' Feng Ye
The Coast.
Robin, still turning to look back, witnessed Akainu being scorched by Amaterasu's flames. Guided by Feng Ye, she took several steps forward before finally turning back around.
If the Navy's Sengoku and Akainu still doubted Feng Ye's abilities, Robin had long since confirmed that his fruit power was definitely not the Gravity Fruit.
There were only two possibilities.
One was that Feng Ye's Devil Fruit was a Zoan-type Mythical species, granting him multiple unique abilities like transformation into a nine-tailed fox, resurrection in a phoenix form, and a Great Buddha form that generated shockwaves.
Perhaps Feng Ye possessed the power of the Histia Fruit, the Zoan-type Mythical fruit he mentioned earlier, which had never been seen on the high seas before!
The second possibility was that Feng Ye wielded a power unrelated to Devil Fruits, a power that also existed in this world. It explained how a swordsman without flame abilities could slash with fiery strikes, and how another without freezing powers could freeze the earth.
However, neither of these possibilities mattered anymore.
What was important was Feng Ye's strength, which surpassed that of the Navy Admiral!
Robin looked at Feng Ye, feeling the warmth and softness of his large hand holding hers.
Feng Ye led her a couple of steps forward to the coast, then released her hand and glanced at the wooden boat floating on the sea before bending down to pick up Robin. In a flash, they had teleported.
Whoosh!!
They landed on the deck.
Most of the ships at the dock, including the warships, had been destroyed, but this particular boat remained intact.
Feng Ye had previously reinforced the ship's body with Wood Release, making it incredibly resilient, almost surpassing steel. Additionally, he had created some life forms on the ship and underwater.
"Set sail," Feng Ye said calmly as he set Robin down.
"Aye, aye, Captain!" the life forms on the ship responded in unison. The sails unfurled, the ropes coiled, and the anchor was pulled up. Soon, the ship departed from the coast and ventured into the distant waters.
It was at this moment, as Feng Ye and Robin boarded the ship and left the island, that Moria, who had been standing atop a crumbling building and staring blankly at the scene, gradually regained his senses. A slight tremor appeared in his eyes.
Feng Ye...
He had defeated a Navy Admiral!
"That guy will become one of the emperors of the sea!" Moria exclaimed, taking a deep breath as he watched the direction in which Feng Ye's ship disappeared.
In the vast ocean, Navy Admirals represented the Navy's highest combat power. To escape their pursuit was an achievement in itself, signifying a formidable presence worthy of roaming and expanding their influence across the seas.
And to engage a Navy Admiral in direct combat and emerge victorious was an even rarer feat in these waters. Even bounty hunters with rewards of a billion berries often fell short of this accomplishment.
To crush a Navy Admiral, however, was an entirely different concept!
The Navy Admirals rarely suffered defeats, and the few times they did were covered up by the World Government. But as an inhabitant of the dark world, Moria was privy to many secret reports, including the rare records of Navy Admirals being overwhelmed.
The Golden Lion, Shiki, Whitebeard Edward Newgate, and Pirate King Roger had all boasted victories over Navy Admirals. Aside from them, the only other person in history to achieve this feat was the captain of the generation before—Rox, who led a crew that included the Golden Lion, Whitebeard, and Kaido.
...
Ten days later, news of the events on Mork Island spread across the vast ocean.
Despite the World Government's efforts to conceal the truth, claiming that the Navy failed to capture the criminal who eventually escaped, Moore Gonce still released a starkly contrasting news report and newspaper, boldly proclaiming the defeat of a Navy Admiral.
There was a passage in the newspaper that read:
【Single-handedly destroyed five warships】
【In a one-on-one battle, defeated the Navy Headquarters General Buddha Sengoku】
【Since the Pirate King Roger opened the Great Pirate Era, another 'hero' has been born at sea, and the New World's heroes will welcome a new enemy】
【There are only a few seats for the Emperor of the Sea. In the end, who will be able to dominate this Great Ocean Current, reign over the seas, and become the 'Emperor of the Sea' who rules the oceans?!】
This news report was personally drafted by Moore Gonce.
On the other hand, the information released by the World Government was vastly different, with heavy censorship. Most of the information had no value, and only the last part held some significance.
【...In light of the severity of the crime and the potential threat to the world, the government will issue a worldwide wanted notice for the individual, whose information is as follows】
【'Voyager' Feng Ye—】
【Surname unknown, place of birth unknown, currently teamed up with Devil's Child Nico Robin】
【The preliminary proposed bounty is... 1,077,900,000 berries】
If not for the need to cover up the fact that a Navy Admiral had been defeated, the bounty for Feng Ye would have been at least doubled. Even so, a bounty exceeding 1 billion on the first announcement was unprecedented, causing a seismic wave of reaction around the world!
...
In the first half of the Grand Line, on a certain island.
The Red-Haired Pirates, who had settled on this island to wait for the log pointer's magnetic power to replenish, were holding a feast. Many of them gathered in an open space, eating meat and drinking alcohol.
Just then, a seagull flew over with a bundle hanging from its neck, containing several newspapers.
"Ah..."
"New newspapers have arrived."
Shanks belched, took a coin out of his pocket, and tossed it to the seagull. He then picked up a newspaper and glanced through it.
He hadn't intended to read it thoroughly, but as he scanned the front page, his expression froze. The face that dominated almost the entire page was all too familiar to him!
"Is it him?!'
Beckman, sitting next to him, also looked surprised.
He reached out, unfolded the newspaper, and read the other half of the description, while Shanks continued reading to the very last line.
"The bounty has surpassed yours, Boss, no, it's surpassed our entire crew."
Jesus Burgess also looked over, letting out a breath.
"With that person's strength, such a bounty is indeed warranted."
Shanks put down the newspaper and smiled. Then he looked up at the sky and murmured, "I wonder when our next meeting will be."
