Chapter 359: Guardian of the Reality Stone (6000+)
Chapter 359: Guardian of the Reality Stone (6000+)
“I am Thor, for the glory of Asgard!”
After Thor fell into the warship, he roared and skillfully wielded Mjolnir, swinging left and right to hammer two Dark Elves armed with laser guns away.
However, just as his roar faded, a massive laser cannon blast struck his silver armor, blasting him into the metal wall of the warship.
It was the warship’s defense system, which automatically locked onto and attacked the intruders.
“Thunder Blast!”
Jerry, who landed right after Thor, cast an Explosion Charm at the laser cannon hidden behind the wall, turning it into a pile of scrap metal.
“Thor, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. My Thor’s Armor was forged by the Dwarf King using Uru Metal, as per Odin’s orders. These laser weapons are useless against me!”
Thor rolled to his feet, stretched his arms, and replied with a confident nod.
Odin, Loki, and Thor’s War Armor were all forged from the rarest Uru Metal by the dwarves, incorporating their renowned crafting techniques.
Thus, the three of them could summon and wear their armor at will, and it offered incredible defense, especially against energy weapons like lasers and Magic. Even if damaged, the armor could repair itself over time.
The laser cannon blast that hit Thor’s silver Thor’s Armor barely caused any damage, at most just sending him flying into the wall due to the kinetic force.
However, armor made from Uru Metal wasn’t without its weaknesses, such as difficulty in defending against blunt physical attacks and sharp weapon piercings.
For example, if Jerry used ordinary Magic to attack Thor, his armor would block it. Unless the attack hit an unarmored part, like his face. But if Jerry summoned a Guardian Spirit and slammed Thor into the ground repeatedly, it would cause significant damage.
Or, if he used a sharp weapon, a regular one wouldn’t work. At least it would need to be a superweapon from Asgard, like Loki’s favorite dagger.
“Good thing I brought Thor!”
Seeing Thor stand up almost unscathed, Jerry secretly rejoiced at having a tank in front.
If he had landed first, those two Dark Elves wouldn’t have posed a threat, but the hidden laser cannon would likely have blasted him to pieces.
The speed of lasers is so fast that if he were ambushed, he wouldn’t have time to cast the Iron Armor Spell.
But maintaining the Iron Armor Spell continuously would hinder his ability to cast other Magic.
“More are coming!”
Not far away, a metal door opened, and dozens of Dark Elves armed with laser guns charged over menacingly.
“Summon Guardian, Armor Shield!”
Jerry first summoned his Guardian Spirit in its second form, then cast an Armor Shield to encase himself.
Better safe than sorry. Who knew how many hidden laser cannons or other advanced weapons they might encounter along the way. He cast the Iron Armor Spell to ensure his safety, leaving the attacks to the invulnerable Guardian Spirit and Thor.
“Biu biu biu”
The Dark Elves fired laser beams at Thor and Jerry. Jerry’s side was completely protected by the Iron Armor Spell, while Thor shielded his head with one arm and threw Mjolnir with all his might.
Seeing this, Jerry also controlled the Guardian Spirit to join the attack, flying towards the Dark Elves.
Moments later, all the Dark Elves who had rushed to attack were physically knocked unconscious and fell to the ground.
After confirming it was safe, Jerry temporarily dispelled the Iron Armor Spell and had the Guardian Spirit press down the only remaining conscious Dark Elf soldier. He then muttered the spell:
“Soul Extraction!”
Capture the leader first. This huge warship could be filled with Dark Elves and advanced defense mechanisms. To quickly take control and prevent the enemy from escaping, they needed to understand the ship’s structure and find the Dark Elves’ leader as fast as possible.
The Imperius Curse was cast smoothly, clearly indicating that these ordinary Dark Elves were not particularly strong-willed.
“Tell me, where is your leader?”
Jerry demanded sternly.
The Dark Elf responded with a blissful expression:
“Mara has spoken.”
“Thor, what did he say?”
Hearing the Dark Elf’s incomprehensible response, Jerry looked at Thor with confusion.
Thor shrugged helplessly:
“Don’t look at me. I’m not Loki. The Dark Elves have been gone for so long, I don’t understand their language!”
“Alright, a reasonable answer.”
He had assumed that Thor, who had lived for over a thousand years, would at least understand some Dark Elf language. But it turned out that Thor, being a muscle-bound warrior who only enjoyed fighting, had never bothered to learn it.
So, he changed his strategy and stared into the Dark Elf’s eyes, casting the spell again:
“Mind Reading!”
Legilimency allowed direct access to thoughts and memories, a form of mental communication. Even without a common language, he could still obtain the necessary information.
"Leader, the mage and the Asgardian Warriors are breaking through our defenses, heading straight for the command center!"
The slender Dark Elf appeared before Malekith once again, reporting with a hint of urgency.
Malekith watched the virtual video feed, where the mage continuously used Magic to open metal doors, and the Asgardian Warriors were taking down Dark Elf warriors one by one with their hammers. His brows furrowed tightly.
"Midgard has actually produced such a powerful mage in recent years? And why are there Asgardians here? Never mind, since they are hindering our revival, they must all die!"
Jerry's recent act of destroying thirty aircraft with a single spell had indeed frightened Malekith. After all, even Asgard didn't have such a powerful mage in the past.
Adding to that, there was also a very powerful Asgardian Warrior. Therefore, he decided to use the Dark Elves' ultimate weapon to eliminate the two intruders and personally retrieve the Aether.
The Convergence was about to occur, and he needed to obtain the Aether before it ended. Only then could he harness the immense power generated during the Convergence to fully activate the Aether's capabilities and plunge the universe back into darkness.
Otherwise, even if he obtained the Aether, without the power of the Convergence to support him, he wouldn't be able to achieve his goal. He wouldn't even be able to darken a single planet.
If he had been able to fully master the Aether's power on his own, he wouldn't have been so easily defeated by Bor back then.
"Leader, don't hesitate!"
At that moment, a tall Dark Elf pushed through the other Dark Elf warriors and approached Malekith.
Malekith looked at his loyal second-in-command with a glint of reluctance in his eyes.
"Algrim, you know the consequences of bearing the curse."
"I am willing to offer my life, just like the people who have sacrificed themselves, just like you!"
Algrim's tone was resolute, clearly having made up his mind long ago.
Seeing the two intruders on the virtual screen getting closer, Malekith no longer hesitated. He drew his dagger and brutally stabbed it into Algrim's body, then placed the last Cursed Stone in his hand.
"You will become an elf of the night, cursed by this world until you are fully assimilated!"
"At that time, our enemies will no longer be able to stop you, for I will crush them completely, and I will create a new universe for you!"
Algrim finished speaking with determination, then crushed the Cursed Stone in his hand with a roar, transforming into a dark-faced, fanged, and horned Cursed Warrior. His body had grown three to four times larger, covered in hard scales, resembling a monster.
Meanwhile, Jerry, who had been using Legilimency to read the minds of the Dark Elf soldiers, led Thor through the battles, finally arriving at the last metal door leading to the warship's command room.
"Is that Malekith behind this door? Open it quickly, let me hammer his head in!"
Thor held his hammer, his face filled with excitement. Fighting alongside Jerry made him feel incredibly relaxed. He didn't need to coordinate much; he just had to keep hammering.
Jerry stood behind him, drawing attention with his light spells, providing shields, and occasionally controlling shadows to immobilize the Dark Elf warriors, showcasing his support skills to the fullest.
"Alohomora!"
Jerry cast Alohomora at the metal door, and the lock, made of unknown technology, instantly opened. Thor kicked the door open and charged in with a roar.
"Boom!"
As Thor stepped into the command room, Jerry saw him being sent flying back at a speed even faster than when he charged in.
Jerry quickly waved his hand, summoning a gentle wind to cushion Thor's impact and catch him.
"Thor, looks like you've met your match!"
Jerry glanced at the terrifying Cursed Warrior standing beside Malekith, then at the large fist mark on Thor's chest armor, and couldn't help but joke.
However, he also inwardly sighed, realizing that the Dark Elves had more than just technology.
"I was just caught off guard!"
Thor stood up, took a deep breath, and, lifting his hammer, roared as he leaped at the Cursed Warrior again.
Moments later, Thor, with a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth, was once again sent flying back by the Cursed Warrior.
Clearly, in terms of strength and close combat, Thor was no match for the powerful Cursed Warrior. The Cursed Warrior had dominated the fight from the start.
"Any who dare to obstruct our revival must die! Kill them!"
Malekith roared, and the Cursed Warrior, along with dozens of the Dark Elves' elite guards, armed with various weapons, charged at Thor and Jerry.
"Looks like they want to gang up on us. Well, it's your decision, Dementors!"
Facing the powerful Cursed Warrior and the Dark Elves, Jerry, who had been maintaining the Iron Armor Spell, remained calm. He slowly pulled out his Spatial Box and gently opened it.
Suddenly, a group of Dementors, cloaked and screaming, emerged in a line and charged straight at the Dark Elf warriors.
"Hmm, there's actually one who's immune!"
The Dementors completely ignored the Dark Elves' weapon attacks, each targeting a Dark Elf warrior and sucking all the joy from them, turning them into fear-stricken statues that lay limp on the ground, motionless.
This included Malekith, the Dark Elf leader, who Jerry had ordered to be given special attention. Malekith was being targeted by three Dementors simultaneously, his body already in a state of utter despair, on the verge of suicide.
Only the powerful Cursed Warrior remained unaffected by the Dementors.
Perhaps because he was no longer human, or because his emotions no longer included happiness.
Thus, the Dementors, whose attacks were based on draining happiness, had no effect on him.
"Thor, do you want revenge?"
Watching the Cursed Warrior being held back by the Guardian Spirit halfway through his charge, Jerry asked Thor, who had risen with a face full of anger.
The Cursed Warrior on the other side was likely as strong as the Hulks. While the Guardian Spirit had strength comparable to the Hulks and strong Magic defense, its physical defense was quite average, making it difficult to hold back the Cursed Warrior for long.
And with all the machinery in this command room, he didn't want to use any powerful spells that might cause significant destruction.
After all, with the Dark Elves eliminated, this super battleship might still be useful if they could study it. If it were destroyed, it would be a waste.
"Of course, I want to smash his head in!"
Thor wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and reached out to recall Mjolnir, which had been knocked away, ready to charge at the Cursed Warrior again.
However, Jerry held him back:
"Wait a moment. Let me give you a buff, Strength!"
Jerry tapped Thor's forehead, casting the "Strength" Magic to amplify his power, then dismissed the Guardian Spirit, which had been pierced by the Cursed Warrior again.
"Hey, Jerry, what did you do? Why do I feel like I could take on ten of them!"
Thor clenched his hand, and a burst of energy seemed to radiate from it. He had never felt his body so powerful.
"It's just an auxiliary Magic that increases your strength!"
Jerry smiled, then grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds from a box and began to snack while floating in the air.
The principle behind the "Strength" Magic was to amplify the strength of the target. The stronger the target, the better the effect. As Thor, whose strength was already considerable, the "Strength" Magic made him even more powerful.
"I love you, Jerry!"
Thor grabbed Mjolnir, laughed loudly, and charged at the Cursed Warrior.
"Boom!"
This time, it was the powerful Cursed Warrior who was sent flying, not Thor.
"Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang"
With Jerry's Magic enhancement, Thor began a crushing attack on the Cursed Warrior, showcasing a variety of hammer techniques.
Under the relentless hammer blows, the strong Cursed Warrior finally fell with a roar.
On the rooftop of Kamar-Taj,
Jerry released the unconscious Malekith and the over a hundred remaining Dark Elf warriors and crew members from the Spatial Box, then asked the Ancient One:
"Master Ancient One, this is the Dark Elf leader and all the remaining Dark Elves. What should we do with them?"
"Carmen, you defeated them, so you have the right to decide their fate."
The Ancient One didn't look at the Dark Elves on the ground but smiled at Jerry, curious to see how he would handle the situation.
Jerry paused, thinking for three seconds before responding with righteous resolve:
"From their perspective, wanting their race to flourish isn't entirely wrong, but their actions have threatened the entire universe.
Therefore, my suggestion is to confiscate their battleship, erase their memories, and send them back to their homeland, Vanaheim, to continue their lives there."
In reality, Jerry's true intention was to execute them all to avoid any future threats.
But given that the Ancient One seemed to be testing him, he couldn't give that answer.
The Ancient One nodded approvingly, clearly satisfied with Jerry's response:
"While you and King Thor were battling, I already extracted the Aether from Miss Daisy. She is now fine!"
"Thank you, Master Ancient One, for your assistance!"
Jerry, Thor, Jane, and the now-awake Daisy, who understood what had happened, all thanked the Ancient One.
Then, Jerry cast Obliviate on all the living Dark Elves, erasing their memories, and added False Memory Charms to implant false memories.
Thor summoned the Bifrost and sent the Dark Elves to Vanaheim, one of the Nine Realms, their homeland.
Odin must have learned about the situation here through Heimdall and temporarily lifted the ban on Thor.
With everything settled, Jerry, following the Ancient One's instructions, stored the Dark Elves' warship in the Spatial Box. He did not inquire about the final destination of the Aether and simply bid farewell to the Ancient One before preparing to send Thor and the others back.
Jerry, of course, wanted the Aether, the Reality Stone. It involved fundamental cosmic laws, and studying it would be incredibly beneficial. Additionally, it possessed immense power, though it would likely take decades or even centuries to fully master its use.
However, with powerful beings like the Ancient One and Odin around, he felt it best not to show any interest in the Aether.
As he was about to leave Kamar-Taj, the Ancient One called him into a room and handed him a red gem.
"Master Ancient One, what is this?"
Jerry looked at the red gem in his hand, feeling the powerful energy within, and was taken aback.
The Ancient One explained:
"This is the Aether, or you can call it the Reality Stone!"
Jerry, of course, knew it was the Reality Stone. What surprised him was why the Ancient One was giving it to him, leaving him rather bewildered.
The Ancient One did not keep Jerry waiting long and explained with a serious expression:
"During your battle with the Dark Elves, I took the Aether to Asgard and discussed its fate with Odin. According to the rules, no one is allowed to possess more than one Infinity Stone, as it could cause catastrophic consequences.
Now, Odin is responsible for the Space Stone, and I am responsible for the Time Stone, so the Reality Stone cannot remain with either of us. Odin suggested giving the Reality Stone to the Collector, but I did not think that was a good idea. After our discussion, we decided to entrust it to you, making you the guardian of the Reality Stone!"
"Me, the guardian of the Reality Stone?"
Jerry was stunned. This was truly a case of finding something unexpectedly easy after a long and difficult search. He had always been cautious about the Infinity Stones to avoid suspicion, but now he was officially appointed as the guardian of the Reality Stone by the Ancient One and Odin.
It seemed that his recent display of strength and character had earned the complete trust of the Ancient One and Odin.
"Isn't it a bit hasty to entrust such an important task to me?"
Jerry modestly tried to decline.
The Ancient One, however, was firm in her decision:
"Jerry, your magical prowess is already formidable in the universe, and you are capable of taking on the responsibility of a gem guardian. Your character is also trustworthy."
"Very well, if Master Ancient One and High Lord Odin trust me so much, as the new gem guardian, I swear that no one will ever take the Reality Stone from me!"
Jerry held the Reality Stone in his hand and made a solemn vow.
He was joking; once something was in his possession, how could anyone else take it? Anyone who tried to steal his gem would face dire consequences.
The Ancient One, hearing Jerry's sincere and determined vow, smiled and nodded. She had indeed chosen the right person!
Carefully storing the Reality Stone, Jerry bid farewell to the Ancient One, opened a portal, and sent Thor, Jane, and Daisy back to Coulson's plane. He then returned to the villa and briefly explained the events to them before heading back to his home.
The first thing he did upon returning to the villa was to check his red stars. As expected, events involving the Infinity Stones provided a significant number of red stars. In less than a day, his nearly depleted red stars increased by 300,000, giving him a taste of sudden wealth.
However, this event also exposed a weakness that needed addressing: his magic power.
In the past, it wasn't noticeable, but during the large-scale joint spellcasting, his magic power was drained by half in just one instance. This indicated that while his magical strength had greatly increased, his magic power was not keeping up.
Therefore, in the coming days, he would reduce the time spent on magic research and focus more on purifying his Witch Bloodline. Despite his current efficiency in meditation, significant breakthroughs would still take decades.
Thus, purifying the Witch Bloodline would be the key to quickly resolving his magic power issues.
