Chapter 358: The Titan Core
Chapter 358: The Titan Core
Every First-Rank Peak Wizard has the opportunity to request the assistance of the Academy's Starrealm Outpost for their breakthrough.
Usually, the Academy does not provide resources specifically for a single wizard but waits until several wizards are ready before taking action.
This time, there were three wizards who applied to enter the Starrealm Outpost.
In addition to Lin En, there was Charlott and the Beastfolk Nikol.
Nikol's inclusion was not surprising, as he had already advanced to the Late First Circle a few years ago, and by now, he should have accumulated enough.
As for Charlott and Lin En, one was younger than the other, and no one had expected them to be here.
Charlott, being the disciple of Dean Aksha of the Academy, was barely acceptable.
Lin En...
What qualified him? Not to mention the other wizards in the Academy, even those close to him were astonished upon hearing this news.
About two years ago,
Lin En was just a novice Apprentice Wizard who had failed the Academy's assessment and was expelled.
And now, in such a short time,
He had already reached the First-Rank Peak and was about to break through to the Second Circle.
"Come!"
The White Crow scanned the three of them, his gaze lingering on Lin En for a moment, and said in a low voice, "No matter what opportunities you have or whose sponsorship you've received, always remember your identity."
"You are all disciples of Viper Academy."
"Yes."
The three of them responded.
Lin En remained expressionless. The Academy must have already known about his connection with the Roll Family.
They probably didn't want to offend the Roll Family, so this time, only one of them was allowed to enter the Starrealm Outpost.
Hmm...
If they knew that the Roll Family's target was the Academy's Starrealm Outpost, what would their reaction be? 'But Julia, even though she's powerful, shouldn't be able to take the base away from Viper Academy, right?'
'Perhaps she has other intentions.'
As they pondered, the group arrived at a place resembling an altar, with various runes engraved on the ground.
"The Academy's Starrealm Outpost is crucial to the Academy's continuation. What you see here must not be shared with others."
The White Crow spoke, "You have all signed agreements, and the consequences of breaking your word should be clear."
"Go in!"
The three of them entered in order, and with a flash of white light, the scene before them transformed.
A familiar figure was already waiting for them.
"Charlott."
"Senior Jack."
The one receiving them was the Second-Circle Wizard Gear Jack, his head made of countless gears was particularly striking.
Lin En looked around.
This was a palace, towering at nearly a hundred meters, supported by eighteen massive pillars that held up the dome above.
Murals, bas-reliefs, and eternal torches...
It was majestic!
But what surprised him the most was the omnipresent force of rules that distorted everything.
Second-Circle Wizards could initially perceive the rules, but to fully control and make them permanent, at least Fourth-Circle was required.
Fourth-Circle at the very least!
'These rules are related to space and time!'
'Core is a Fourth-Tier being, but the rules he possesses are of the Sixth or even Seventh Tier.'
'Plunder.'
As long as it was the power of a deity, it could be plundered.
And the environment they were in should be within the influence of space-time rules.
If Viper Academy could utilize or even control the rules here, even a Fourth-Circle Wizard would be at a disadvantage.
"Senior Jack."
Charlott spoke, "Is this the core of the outpost?"
He had been to the Academy's Starrealm Outpost before, but it was on the outskirts, not here.
"More or less."
Gear Jack nodded and stepped outside the hall, "Follow me."
The three of them followed, and as they stepped out of the hall, they paused.
A blinding light surged forward, flooding their vision with an endless heat and an overwhelming surge of energy.
Time and space,
Twisted in this moment!
"It's not an illusion," Gearjack clearly understood the trio's sensation, and the gears at his pupils spun rapidly.
"The time and space ahead have changed, which is why the Dean chose this location for the Academy."
"Time and space manipulation?" Beastfolk Nikol's eyes flickered.
"Even for a short-term control of time and space, you'd need Second Circle Witchcraft. And if it could exist for an extended period..."
"Fifth Circle Spell?"
"No!" Gearjack shook his head. "The core of the Outpost is a Sixth Rank Artifact, originating from a dead and collapsed world."
Sixth Rank Artifact?
A world in collapse!
All three of them were astonished.
"The Wizard's Codex mentions that any observable existence can be utilized," Gearjack continued.
"Time and space are no exceptions."
"If gravity is sufficient, time and space will distort. This is why a single day on certain stars equals a year in the outside world. The Artifact before us, modified by a great wizard's spell, can enlarge or shrink things."
"Senior," Charlott lifted her hand and asked.
"Do you mean the time within the Outpost can be altered?"
"Exactly!" Gearjack nodded. "The closer you are to the Artifact, the more time you can adjust. In a moment, you'll reach a place where time flows a hundred times faster."
"The reason we can increase our chances of breakthrough here is because your time is compressed. It might feel like a few days, but it could already be several years. However, don't stay inside for too long."
Charlott's face lit up with understanding.
Compressing years of cultivation into days would naturally lead to a rapid advancement in cultivation.
No wonder so many wizards who failed their breakthroughs died here; it was likely due to their lifespan being exhausted.
"Senior," Linen narrowed his eyes. "If time can be compressed, what about energy?"
"Without sufficient energy replenishment, only time is given, which should increase cultivation experience, not cultivation base."
"Huh?" Gearjack was surprised. "You can ask such a question?"
"A good question!"
He nodded and pointed ahead to the source of the dazzling light, explaining, "As I said earlier, that thing is the remains of a dead world, and it provides the energy."
"Any existence below Fifth Rank is no problem for it."
"Right..."
"It's called the Titan Heart!"
"Titan Heart." Nikol's eyes shone.
"Senior, it seems there's a line leading there?"
"Yes!"
Gearjack nodded. "Since the Academy discovered the Titan Core, we've wanted to control it. But until now, we still can't get close to its core, let alone control it."
"This is a Sixth Rank Artifact, and due to its unique nature, its power is far beyond imagination."
"Forget it!"
He shook his head lightly. "It's too early to tell you all this. Follow me."
The four of them exited the grand hall and boarded a white flying ship, heading towards the Titan Core.
"Don't move recklessly."
Gearjack's voice was stern. "We're in temporal turbulence. Once we leave this ship, time will flow differently."
"A Second Circle Wizard once accidentally fell outside. By the time he returned, his hair had turned white. After observation, we found he had lost at least two hundred years of his lifespan."
Hearing this, the group's faces turned solemn.
