Chapter 356: Toywar (Part 2)
Chapter 356: Toywar (Part 2)
"Look what we've found..." Optimus Prime rumbled in his vehicle-mode voice, "It seems we have two spies sent by Novel eavesdropping on our War Council."
"Xia!" Ultraman confirmed beside him.
Optimus Prime fixed Feng Bu Jue and Xiao Tan with a ten-point stare. "Gentlemen, will you come out voluntarily, or must we take action?"
"Uh... could we maybe just..." Feng Bu Jue pointed at the crack Optimus Prime had left open, "...jump out from here?"
Optimus Prime glanced at Ultraman. "These two seem a bit loopy."
Ultraman: "Xia—"
Who knows how Optimus Prime understood that M78 Nebula language? Probably Cybertron's translation tech was just advanced.
"Hurry up and come out. Don't waste time", Optimus Prime said, sealing the crack shut as he spoke.
Feng Bu Jue and Xiao Tan exchanged glances. After two seconds, Xiao Tan finally whispered, "Do you also think something feels... off about them?"
"Obviously", Feng Bu Jue muttered. "Ultraman's usually fifty meters tall, and Optimus Prime stands at nine. But these two's heads are almost identical in size. Judging by their camera angles and head proportions, they're barely over four meters tall." As he spoke, he launched himself upward.
From the sound of that opening and closing crack, the ceiling seemed remarkably light. So Feng Bu Jue jumped, testing if he could lift it.
He succeeded. In fact, his strength overcompensated—the entire ceiling flipped skyward, landing outside the room.
Above them stretched a pitch-black, distant sky. The white light they'd seen earlier slanted diagonally from beside the room. The source remained unknown—probably some giant spotlight.
"Woah... so impressive..." Xiao Tan gasped as Feng Bu Jue landed.
Feng Bu Jue steadied himself. "No, it's not my strength—it's that this roof was far lighter than expected. It's basically just a giant cardboard sheet." He paused. "Either way, let's get out and see what's really going on."
The three-meter wall posed no challenge. They vaulted over it effortlessly.
Outside their "room", the truth became clear.
They'd never been in an actual room. It was a shoebox—plain cardboard, printed with trademarks and text. The "roof" they'd removed was simply its lid, now lying nearby.
And that mysterious white light? Just an ordinary desk lamp.
The world around them loomed giant—shelves like skyscrapers, teacups the size of phone booths, pencil holders holding pens like telephone poles with wires.
"Did they shrink us?" Xiao Tan blinked in realization.
"Exactly", Feng Bu Jue mused. "That explains why Jack (Ultraman) and Prime Brother have the same proportions as us, only twice our height. They're just toys."
Besides Optimus Prime and Ultraman, a crowd of other toys gathered outside the shoebox. Their sizes varied, but most matched the players' scale.
"I've never seen this product line before", a dinosaur toy slightly shorter than Ultraman snorted forward, its long nose sniffing curiously at the newcomers. "Are you high-end replica figures?"
"They might be latest models", added Pleasant Goat (a plastic pencil sharpener). "Even Novel's scantily-clad collectible figures don't match their craftsmanship."
"Strangely, I suddenly want to join this 'Novel' faction..." Feng Bu Jue muttered.
Xiao Tan stayed honest. "Actually, we're members of an organization called Classic."
"Classic?" Optimus Prime retorted. "As its leader, I've never heard of this claim."
Ultraman chimed in: "Sawake—"
"Agreed", nodded a cartoon-faced train engine.
Apparently everyone here understood Ultraman's language except the players.
Feng Bu Jue ignored the dinosaur's mumbling. "You must believe us, Prime Brother. We're here to help win this war." He adopted a perfectly serious expression, instantly slipping into character. "Two evil toys from our same production line have joined Novel's faction. They're terrifyingly powerful, capable of delivering devastating blows. You'll need our help."
A crown-wearing frog panicked. "Oh no! Prime Brother, what do we do?"
The toy crowd erupted into chaos.
"Stay calm." Optimus Prime's resolute voice cut through the noise. "How can I verify your story? You might just be captured spies fabricating tales to escape detection."
"We'll prove it through action!" Feng Bu Jue declared. "I despise those skimpy-clad collectible figures! Just give the order, Prime Brother, and I'll charge headfirst without hesitation!"
"Who would even give that order?!" Xiao Tan facepalmed.
"Prove your trustworthiness..." Optimus Prime remained composed. "Since Thanksgiving night when Toy Captain and his squad defected to the Barbies, no one's dared utter 'trust' in my presence for half a year." He paused a few seconds. "Besides, your arrival itself seems suspicious..."
A giraffe plush piped up: "Hey! Let's trade them for hostages against Novel! Tigger's been captured for a week!"
"However..." Optimus Prime's gaze sharpened. "I don't mind offering them a chance." He turned sharply. "Mario!"
A plastic Mario figurine bounced forward. "Reporting for duty, sir!"
"Assign them to the Nintendo Assault Team", Optimus Prime ordered. "Tonight's operation—they'll lead the vanguard."
"Understood, sir!" Mario showed no hesitation.
Optimus Prime locked eyes with Feng Bu Jue. "Prove yourselves. I'll be watching."
