Chapter 354: Storm in a Small Town (23)
As the levitation car made its way toward the remote town of Redwood, in the distant capital of the Rencote Alliance—Trenar City.
In a reception room of the Trenar City Council, Councilor Kas was meeting with his intelligence minister, Hilton.
"Director Hilton, what brings you here?" Councilor Kas sat calmly at the conference table, sipping his tea before asking leisurely.
"Sir, it's about this," the intelligence minister's expression turned serious. "The 'Thunderflash' spatial detector has picked up three unusual spatial anomalies."
"Three? What caused these anomalies?" Councilor Kas's demeanor grew more serious.
"I'm not entirely sure, sir." The intelligence minister shook his head. "However, according to Lord Steam's prediction, it's highly likely that the Singer Civilization has transported three humans from Earth to our planet. Lord Steam mentioned that the origin of these spatial anomalies is on Earth."
"I see." Councilor Kas stroked his chin, his expression becoming increasingly grave.
The arrival of three humans from Earth was no small matter!
Anyone capable of withstanding the distortion forces of interstellar teleportation was far from weak, let alone three of them!
"Hilton." Councilor Kas looked at his intelligence minister. "Can we determine the locations of these three humans from Earth now?"
"I apologize, sir." The intelligence minister bowed his head.
However, he quickly added, "Through our relentless efforts, we have found some clues about one of them. We initially judge that it's a sixth-stage human from Earth. We're confident we'll find him soon!"
"Hmm." Kas nodded, instructing, "You must monitor this situation closely and track the activities of these three humans from Earth as soon as possible."
"Rest assured, sir, I will see to it!" The intelligence minister saluted Councilor Kas.
"Very well." Kas waved his hand, signaling the end of the meeting.
But then, he remembered something else.
His eyes narrowed as he asked, "By the way, has the human from Earth who destroyed our Lingwu Mountain base arrived yet?"
"I apologize, sir, we haven't gathered any information on the three humans from Earth yet." The intelligence minister bowed his head again.
Councilor Kas walked back and forth in the reception room, muttering to himself:
"That human from Earth was already at the sixth stage two months ago. What level is he at now? Moreover, there are almost no sixth-stage or higher humans on Earth, so he was likely involved in this operation!"
Saying this, Kas's gaze intensified as he looked at the intelligence minister, "Hilton, inform Lord Steam to lead the operation to capture these humans from Earth!"
"Are you sure, sir?!" The intelligence minister was taken aback. "Lord Steam is an eighth-stage divine-level powerhouse! To disturb him for Such a Small Matter..."
"Carry out the Order!"
"Alright." The intelligence minister had no choice but to remain silent, after all, a Higher Rank Always Overwhelms the Lower.
Councilor Kas slowly walked to the window, gazing outside, his tone growing exceptionally cold:
"For the human from Earth who destroyed the Lingwu Mountain base, I must Use His Blood to Give the People an Answer! If He Sets Foot on Our Skrul Planet This Time, I Promise He Won't Be Able to Leave Alive!"
Su Yu was unaware that the Rencote Alliance had already launched a search for him. The levitation car he was in had just arrived at the entrance of a small town called Redwood.
But unexpectedly, the levitation car was immediately stopped by a group of thugs as soon as it reached the Town Entrance.
"Hey! Luna, Pidan, get out here with your girls!" One of the thugs, with a Tattoo on His Arm, slammed his hand on the car's hood and Banged on the Glass.
Beside the thug stood four more, each either wielding a gun or brandishing a knife.
Since the vehicle’s glass was one-way transparent, they couldn’t see Su Yu inside.
“Who are these guys?” Su Yu munched on a watermelon, a hint of impatience in his voice.
Pidan was already trembling, and upon hearing Su Yu’s question, he immediately answered, “Master, do you remember the ‘Boss Mercury’ I mentioned?”
“Yeah, what about him?”
“Boss Mercury stole the woman of the Spirit Cultivation School’s principal, Jupiter. The guys outside are his goons.”
“Stole a woman... What does that have to do with you?” Su Yu was puzzled.
Pidan’s face fell. “Because of this, Boss Mercury has to pay a huge sum to the school’s principal. If I’m not mistaken, he’s probably short on cash, so he sent his goons to extort protection money from me.”
Before Pidan could finish, the sound of pounding on the car door echoed outside. “What are you guys whispering about? Get out now! Or do you want me to ruin your whole families?”
“What should we do, Master?” Pidan looked at Su Yu, fear in his eyes.
“Don’t worry, just do as I say.” Su Yu calmly continued munching on his watermelon, waggling his finger.
A minute later, Pidan opened the car door from the inside.
The thugs outside immediately wore vicious grins. “Why so slow? Are you trying to get kicked out of town? I’m a bit short on cash these days.”
“I’m short too. Can you guys give me some money?” Pidan asked calmly, eyeing the thugs.
The thugs were taken aback.
Did this guy get his head stuck in the door? He’s actually backtalking?
“I think you’re asking for it!” One thug reached out to grab Pidan’s hair.
But Pidan struck first, delivering a light punch.
Bang!
Pidan’s fist hit the thug’s chest, sending him flying several meters away. The power came from Su Yu, who had infused a tiny bit of magic into Pidan’s body. Although Su Yu was a mage and didn’t have the ability to grant buffs, this small amount of magic was enough for Pidan to overpower these thugs.
Seeing their comrade fly away, the other four thugs were shocked. Two of them, holding guns, raised their weapons to aim at Pidan, but Pidan was already moving.
He dashed forward, delivering two quick punches that sent the gun-wielding thugs flying. One of them even had his gun crushed by Pidan’s blow.
Pidan then turned to the remaining two thugs and easily kicked them to the ground.
The five thugs were dispatched with ease. Pidan’s punches and kicks were brutal, breaking several bones in each thug, causing them to scream in pain like pigs being slaughtered.
Amidst the thugs’ cries, Pidan stood proudly with his arms crossed. “Hmph! I had a great adventure this time out, and my strength has increased exponentially!”
“Listen up! In two hours, have Mercury come to 283 Spin Street. If he’s not there by then, I’ll come and wipe out your entire gang! Got it?”
Pidan gave each thug a final kick, and they, in pain, quickly agreed. “Yes, yes! We’ll inform Boss Mercury right away!”
