Chapter 354: Did You Kill Him? Why?
Chapter 354: Did You Kill Him? Why?
"Of course, it's just finding someone, no problem at all!" Hearing Ivan's request, Walker puffed out his chest and guaranteed with a casual wave of his hand.
"Then consider this a test for you guys!" Ivan smiled and said nonchalantly.
Walker nodded solemnly.
As they chatted idly, the three of them quickly returned to their temporary residence.
Ivan had just pushed open the door when he noticed Aisha sitting in the hall, flipping through a thick notebook-like book.
"You're back." Aisha looked up, noticing the commotion at the door.
Noticing the dust and signs of fatigue on their bodies, Aisha pulled out her Wand and tapped the round table. A plate of delicious pastries and several glasses of milk and juice appeared on the table.
"How was it? Do you want to have a midnight snack?" Aisha asked with a smile.
"Pretty smooth! Hermione learned the Spell much faster than I expected, and Walker, his Thunderclap Explosion was very powerful. It seems this Spell really suits him!" Ivan glanced at Hermione and Walker, praising them.
Hermione pressed her lips together in a reserved manner, her eyes shining with happiness, while Walker rubbed the back of his head and grinned proudly.
After practicing for so long outside, the three were quite hungry. Ivan casually picked up a pastry and stuffed it into his mouth, then gulped down most of a glass of juice.
Although he didn't need to practice casting Spells, explaining for several hours had left him quite tired.
"By the way, there's something I haven't told you yet—Brock is dead!" Aisha suddenly said.
What?
Ivan, who was drinking his juice, nearly sprayed it out. He remembered that Brock had recently seemed to have turned a new leaf. They had chatted happily just that afternoon.
Could he have suddenly become reclusive again?
Ivan felt a bit regretful. In his view, Brock had a lot of good ideas, and he hadn't yet learned all of Brock's alchemical knowledge. He had originally planned to keep Brock alive for a while longer.
"Just follow me!" Aisha put down her notebook, stood up, and her expression was very serious.
Ivan nodded and followed Aisha to the room where Brock was being held.
When he finally saw Brock's body, Ivan realized that the situation was different from what he had imagined.
Brock had not committed suicide; he had been killed by some powerful dark magic. Black mist was still seeping out of his body.
Ivan frowned, instinctively thinking that someone had infiltrated the place and killed Brock for some reason. However, he quickly dismissed this idea when he noticed an empty vial on the ground.
Ivan remembered that he had used it to store Veritaserum. After using it once, he had casually thrown it into the storage room, where it was not very noticeable among the other potions.
If someone had sneaked in, they wouldn't have known where the Veritaserum was, let alone have the audacity to take and use it openly. Did they really think everyone else in the residence was blind?
So, there was only one possibility: Aisha had done it!
"Mom, did you kill him? Why?" Ivan looked at Aisha, confused.
Although he was aware that Aisha and Brock had been enemies for many years, the fact that she hadn't acted until now suggested that she could tolerate Brock being alive.
"You still dare to ask why? It's because you told him so many things you shouldn't have. Have you thought about what would happen if Brock starts spreading them around? What impact would it have on us?" Aisha pinched Ivan's cheek, her voice tinged with anger.
Ivan was momentarily stunned, but after a moment's thought, he quickly understood what Aisha was saying.
Because he knew he was in the wrong, Ivan didn't dare to argue. Indeed, he had shared and discussed the core alchemical knowledge that Aisha had taught him with Brock without her consent.
However, at the time, Ivan hadn't intended for Brock to leave alive, so he had rashly concluded that there was no chance of a leak.
Now, upon reflection, he realized his approach had been unwise.
After all, there were other people who could come into contact with Brock, besides himself and Aisha, such as the Werewolf Wizards. It was best to be cautious.
Thinking about this, Ivan repeatedly assured Aisha that he would definitely consult her before making any decisions in the future.
Finally, after much effort, Aisha calmed down, and Ivan brought up another matter.
"Mom, Fleur and the others lost their jobs because of our attack on Borgin and Burkes. So I've already promised to recruit them to work for us.
As for their wages, you don't need to worry. I earned quite a bit of Galleons last year at Hogwarts, and taking out a portion will be enough to cover them for a while."
To prevent Aisha from disagreeing, Ivan immediately took responsibility for the wages of Fleur and others. After all, it wouldn't cost much, and once the branch store in Diagon Alley opened, they would earn it all back in no time!
Aisha had long suspected that Ivan wanted to recruit Fleur and others to form a core group of Werewolf Wizards to build his influence, so she agreed.
She had been watching Fleur and others' performance over the past two years and had recently investigated their backgrounds. They were trustworthy and had nothing suspicious about them!
However, upon this thought, Aisha hesitated and couldn't help but ruffle Ivan's hair as she advised, "You don't need to rush into everything. It can wait a few more years!"
Aisha felt that Ivan was being too hasty. Even with the ideal of transforming the Wizarding World and preparing to target Dumbledore, it was best to take things step by step, preferably after he came of age.
"That won't do", Ivan shook his head firmly.
To him, making money was always better the sooner it happened!
Although Brock was dead and the Dark Wizards who needed to be wary of had been eliminated, Knockturn Alley was still unsafe. It would be best to open a Magic Shop in Diagon Alley!
"Ah, as you wish!" Seeing Ivan's stubbornness, Aisha sighed.
Since Ivan was so insistent, Aisha didn't press the matter further and instead handed him a notebook she had been carrying.
"This is what I got from Brock using Veritaserum. It's likely something he kept to himself and never taught you."
Ivan took the thick notebook and flipped through it, discovering that it contained advanced alchemical and dark magic knowledge. These were likely Brock's most closely guarded secrets.
Ivan was pleasantly surprised. He had just been lamenting the loss of a mentor who could help him rapidly improve in Alchemy after Brock's death, but he never expected Aisha to have used Veritaserum to record these secrets.
