Chapter 353: Nifadora Tonks
Chapter 353: Nifadora Tonks
Since Sirius Black's prison break, everyone, including Diana, had been busy.
She wasn't home today, and the house was empty.
As soon as Chris returned, he rushed to the study to continue writing his report, indicating that he was likely to pull an all-nighter.
A "Tree Fork" leisurely climbed onto Kyle's shoulder...
"Long time no see, Groot."
"And you, Tom... Wait, I feel like you've gained weight since last month."
Tom the Niffler had intended to greet him, but upon hearing this, he turned and walked away, leaving Kyle with only a tall, raised tail.
Kyle didn't mind. After greeting the two animal members at home, he returned to his room upstairs, opened his trunk, and emptied some of its contents onto the table.
This was also one of the reasons he didn't want to stay at The Leaky Cauldron.
The Aurors had too many diverse abilities, just like Mad-Eye Moody, who had a magical eye that could see through all objects.
Although Moody had retired long ago, no one knew if other Aurors possessed similar abilities.
To be cautious, Kyle always set his trunk to Muggle mode after discovering them at The Leaky Cauldron, which was very inconvenient.
Now, it was much better. At the very least, he didn't have to worry about someone suddenly barging into his room and forcibly searching his trunk.
When Newt was younger, he had encountered such situations in other countries, but it was still prudent to remain vigilant.
After all, there was a dragon in his trunk, and if it were discovered, he might receive the same treatment as Sirius Black.
Kyle walked over and sat down at the table, pouring all the dragon blood he had obtained in Romania into the small vials he had purchased from Diagon Alley.
The previous vials were too large, and these were more convenient to use. Kyle also sorted and organized the other materials, herbs, and magical items before putting them back into the trunk.
Due to the abundance of items and the constant interference from the Acromantula and Niffler, it was already late by the time Kyle finished tidying up.
After being away from home for a month, Kyle had just lain down on his familiar bed when a hazy sleepiness overcame him.
The next morning, Chris, with his messy hair, dropped Kyle off at King's Cross Station.
"Are you waiting for the Weasley family here?"
Rubbing his eyes in front of Platform 9, Chris said, "I think we'll be faster than them."
"In fact, Mr. Chris, they entered the platform five minutes ago."
A cheerful voice came from behind them.
Both turned around and saw a strange witch standing behind them.
"You are..." Chris frowned.
"Oh, I almost forgot." The witch quickly shook her head.
Her face began to rapidly grow younger, and her hair changed from chestnut to a very light blue.
"I should have realized it," Chris rubbed his forehead, "It's been a while, Tonks."
"Not that long," Nifadora Tonks smiled, "We just met last night, but you didn't recognize me."
Last night, the old witch drinking mead was her in disguise.
"Recognizing a Metamorphmagus in a crowd isn't easy," Chris smiled and patted Kyle's shoulder, "This is my son, Kyle.
Kyle, this is Nifadora Tonks, the youngest Auror in the Ministry of Magic."
Upon hearing Chris's words, Tonks' hair quickly turned into a bubblegum-like pinkish-white.
But strangely, none of the passersby around them seemed to notice this.
"We know each other," she said, "I watched Kyle's Sorting when I was in my seventh year."
Kyle nodded in agreement.
He had indeed met Tonks, but they weren't close.
Although they were both in Gryffindor, Tonks had become an apprentice Auror in her seventh year and was rarely at school.
Kyle had only seen her once during the Sorting, and that was it.
"I almost forgot, you're only six years older than Kyle," Chris rubbed his head.
Seeing his tired expression, Tonks curiously asked, "How many reports did you write yesterday?"
"Eight," Chris sighed, "From noon yesterday until half an hour ago."
"Is it necessary to write so many reports just for a trip to Romania?"
"I don't know why, but since last year, the number of reports to write has been increasing."

"Same here," Tonks' hair turned into a shade of grey, "I never thought that after becoming an Auror, I'd still have to deal with reports every day... I spend more time in the office than on missions."
Tonks complained a few more times until a tall male wizard approached, and she closed her mouth, pretending as if nothing had happened.
"Kingsley!" Chris greeted.
This was the person who had been reading the newspaper in The Leaky Cauldron yesterday.
However, Kyle did not participate in their subsequent conversation.
Just then, the train was about to depart, and by the time Kingsley approached, Kyle had already walked through the wall and entered Platform 9.
The Hogwarts Express was still at its usual spot, billowing smoke, and the platform was crowded with parents sending off their children.
Fred and George stood on either side of Kyle.
"Why are you so late? The train is about to leave," Fred said.
"We thought you were going to take a flying car to Hogwarts too," George put his arm around Kyle's shoulder.
"We met an acquaintance outside, which delayed us a bit," Kyle explained, "Nifadora Tonks, you should know her."
"Of course, the Metamorphmagus."
"A celebrity from a few years ago."
"But I thought she was already an Auror..." Fred thought for a moment and said, "She must be here because of Sirius Black, right?"
"You think he's hiding among the parents?"
"That's the only explanation that makes sense."
"Do they think Black will go to Hogwarts?"
At that moment, a loud whistle sounded, and Fred and George did not continue discussing Tonks, instead, they hurried towards the train with Kyle.
The platform guards were closing the train doors one by one, and the three of them quickened their pace, managing to board just before the man.
"You must go and see Percy."
In the corridor, Fred wore a mischievous smile, "We modified his badge,"
"He hasn't noticed yet that the words on it have turned into a giant head."
