Chapter 350: Brock, You Must Be Deliberately Confusing the Ministry of Magic!
Chapter 350: Brock, You Must Be Deliberately Confusing the Ministry of Magic!
In a daze, Brock couldn't help but recall the Black-haired Youth who had come to work part-time in the Magic Shop decades ago. They were equally young, powerful, and ambitious.
Time seemed to rewind, and the two figures overlapped.
However, Brock quickly dismissed his previous thoughts because the young Wizard in front of him clearly had more courage than the Dark Lord of that time!
Young Tom Riddle, although skilled at winning people's hearts and forming alliances, would never have dared to make such a bold move!
"Do you not worry about the Ministry of Magic discovering something amiss?" Brock couldn't help but ask.
While he was amazed by Ivan's boldness, he also didn't understand why Ivan had such great confidence in outsmarting the Ministry. After all, if such tricks were discovered, it would surely anger the behemoth!
And the young Ivan, who had yet to fully grow, wouldn't be able to handle the Ministry's pursuit.
Of course, I'm worried! If I weren't worried, why would I ask you these questions? Ivan rolled his eyes, grumbling to himself.
This idea was just a precautionary measure Ivan had thought of on the spot. If it didn't work, he would abandon it without hesitation.
Just as Ivan was about to explain, Brock's expression changed. He suddenly realized something and exclaimed loudly.
"No, that's not right! You've had a plan all along, and you're not worried about this at all!"
"Remarkable!" Brock praised again.
"You're even smarter and more cautious than I imagined! You know how to use some means to win the trust of the Ministry of Magic first!"
Brock quickly understood Ivan's strategy. The Protective Artifacts Ivan had sold to the Ministry of Magic were undoubtedly flawless and could easily pass the scrutiny of the Ministry's experts.
The purpose was to make them lower their guard, and the real manipulation would happen during the repair of the Protective Artifacts!
By then, the Aurors would have long become accustomed to the convenience these Protective Artifacts provided and would no longer suspect Ivan's intentions.
The Ministry of Magic was unlikely to collect all the protective items Distributed to the Aurors and inspect them again.
Furthermore, Ivan could wait until the time came to deal with the Ministry of Magic and gradually leave Backdoors in those protective items.
This would further reduce the likelihood of being discovered.
Such a bold and cautious plan left Brock marveling, especially since it was conceived by a young Wizard around twelve or thirteen years old.
Is this what a genius looks like?
Brock sighed inwardly. He already sensed that the peaceful Wizarding World, which had been stable for over a decade, was about to face a new storm. This time, the Wizarding World would be up against a more troublesome existence than the Dark Lord!
Hearing Brock's praise, Ivan was completely lost and couldn't understand what Brock was talking about.
He was just a cautious person, and he had come up with this idea on the spot to guard against the Ministry of Magic, to avoid being betrayed by the magical items he had created. Was it really that surprising?
"Mr. Borgin! You haven't answered my question yet!" Ivan reminded him helplessly.
Brock finally snapped back to reality.
"Your plan has no major issues. Although the Department of Mysteries in the Ministry of Magic has Wizards who specialize in Alchemy, their skills are average. If they don't conduct a thorough inspection, they have no chance of discovering your manipulations." Pausing for a moment, Brock hesitated before continuing.
"However, I advise you to be patient for a few more years and not act rashly. Wait until you come of age and possess power comparable to the Dark Lord before you make your move!"
"Otherwise, even if you destroy the Aurors, you won't win the hearts of the people, and you won't be able to control the entire Wizarding World! Time is what you lack the most right now!" Brock spoke confidently.
He said this because he suddenly felt that he wasn't doomed to die. The ambition and spirit of the young Wizard in front of him might allow him to live. It was likely that the other party was just testing whether he had enough value!
After a fierce internal struggle, dignity lost to the desire for survival.
More importantly, Brock thought that being defeated by the future Unofficial King of the Wizarding World wasn't really that shameful.
Destroy the Aurors? Control the Wizarding World? Ivan looked at Brock with a peculiar expression.
At this moment, Ivan realized that the other party might have misunderstood something, but he wasn't foolish enough to reveal it.
Because Brock's attitude had clearly changed. He was no longer as reluctant to speak unless forced, and he answered many of Ivan's questions honestly, sometimes even pointing out omissions on his own.
So, the small room used for temporary confinement quickly turned into a place where the two of them studied Alchemy.
Brock was experienced, possessing a unique lineage of alchemical knowledge and having dedicated decades to research, making his alchemical skills very high.
Ivan's Alchemy level had already been raised to five, and the gap between him and Brock wasn't significant.
Moreover, for someone who was about to die, Ivan didn't need to hide much. He shared many core pieces of knowledge with Brock, so their interaction was more of a discussion rather than one-sided instruction.
During this process, Ivan rapidly absorbed Brock's alchemical knowledge. The most direct evidence was that the Proficiency in Alchemy on his Status Bar increased by over eight hundred points in just one day!
The daunting Proficiency bar increased by a tenth!
Ivan left in high spirits. At this rate, it wouldn't take long for his Alchemy to reach level six.
Over the next few days, Ivan made several trips to Borgin and Burkes, emptying out their Library, and spent the rest of his time learning Alchemy from Brock.
What puzzled Ivan was that this time seemed unusually ample.
He had already been here for Over Half a Month, and the Time Turner still looked the same, cold and unresponsive. Hermione also showed no signs of being sent back to her original time.
"Mr. Borgin, have you ever studied Time-Related Alchemical Items?" During one of their discussions, Ivan suddenly asked, probing for information.
"No, I don't have much knowledge in that area. The only time-related alchemical item I know of is the Time Turner.
The method for creating such an item was lost centuries ago. Only the Ministry of Magic has some stock, but even in the most dangerous situations, they have never used it. Perhaps there are significant restrictions", Brock shook his head, indicating he couldn't help much.
Then, as if remembering something, he hesitated and continued.
"However, there is one exception. He should have knowledge in this area."
