Chapter 347: Earth Shattering Star
Chapter 347: Earth Shattering Star
Feng Ye's words caused Shanks and the others to pause.
In fact, aside from when Feng Ye's ship first approached and they exchanged greetings, Shanks hadn't paid much attention to Feng Ye's situation. The storm was too intense, demanding most of his attention and energy as he focused on his crew.
However, it wasn't as if he had completely ignored Feng Ye. The situation over there was unusual as well. From start to finish, Feng Ye stood unwavering on the deck of his ship.
Even as the waves rose and fell, rocking the entire vessel, Feng Ye remained steady.
There was no doubt that this was something an ordinary person couldn't do.
The only unusual thing about Feng Ye's ship was that it didn't fly a pirate flag. It didn't seem very large either; it appeared to be just an ordinary civilian ship, albeit one that looked sturdier than most.
Feng Ye's words and actions at this moment also undoubtedly indicated that he was no ordinary man. It seemed he intended to lend a hand in weathering the storm.
"Then thank you for your help!"
Shanks burst into laughter, addressing Feng Ye.
Although they hadn't met before and he hadn't heard of Feng Ye's name, in such a storm, they ought to help each other. Even if Feng Ye's strength was weak, as long as he could contribute, it would be a collective effort.
It would increase their chances of weathering the storm.
"You're welcome," Feng Ye replied with a slight smile. He raised his hands, bringing them together gently in front of him before slowly pulling them apart. A white light appeared in his palms, quivering and pulsating before transforming into a black sphere, like a black hole emitting a heart-pounding aura. It continued to grow larger.
Feng Ye ceased his movements when the sphere was about the size of a fist. He lifted his left hand, cradling the black sphere, and gently sent it upward. The black sphere soared straight up into the storm, swiftly flying toward the sky.
Shanks, with his red hair, watched this scene from a distance, a strange look on his face.
"What is that?"
"It should be some sort of Devil Fruit ability..."
Beckman looked up at the sky, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes. "I can't identify what ability it is, but why release it into the sky? What is he trying to do?"
Jesus Burgess and the others also turned their curious gazes skyward, watching the black sphere fly higher and higher until it reached the clouds and disappeared into the overcast sky.
Just as Beckman and the others furrowed their brows, unsure of what was happening.
Pa! Feng Ye's palms came together again in front of him.
"Earth Shattering Star!"
He gazed up at the sky and spoke calmly, his voice carrying through the storm. The constant lightning and thunder seemed unable to drown out his tranquil tone.
And almost at that very moment.
The swirling clouds in the sky seemed to freeze, and then, as if pulled by some invisible force, they began to rush wildly toward a certain spot in the center.
This pull set off a chain reaction, not only affecting the clouds directly above Feng Ye but the entire sky, creating a massive vortex! Even the crackling lightning bolts were pulled toward the center!
"What is this...?"
Shanks, who had sailed with the Pirate King Gol D. Roger, maintained his composure, but the others, like Beckman and Jesus Burgess, wore stupefied expressions as they stared up at the sky.
They were awestruck by what they witnessed. It seemed as though the clouds at the edge of their vision were being pulled, and the vast sky was like an ocean with a drain opened at its depths, causing all the clouds to rush toward that spot.
The wind ceased.
Finally, the endless dark clouds began to disappear from the edge of their vision, revealing sunlight that converged from all directions.
Within seconds, the remaining clouds vanished into the enormous water ball, leaving no trace.
Under the azure sky, only a gigantic water ball remained, floating at an unimaginable height. Illuminated by the sun, it reflected a rainbow-like luster.
The turbulent sea gradually calmed.
Sunlight danced on the water's surface, bathing Beckman and the others in its warmth, as if they had been turned to stone. Even the young Shanks, gazing at the restored clear sky—an endless expanse of cerulean blue—found himself momentarily dazed.
Silence reigned.
Only the rolling waves broke the quiet.
Feng Ye lowered his hands, which had been pressed together, and gazed at the massive water ball in the sky. He slowly lowered his left hand and gestured forward with his right.
Whoosh! ! !
The water ball shattered, transforming into a waterfall that traced a beautiful arc across the sky before cascading down towards the distant sea. It poured onto the water's surface, gradually diminishing in size until it vanished.
Jesus's gaze shifted from the sky to Feng Ye, his eyes flickering with emotion.
Though they had become Shanks' companions, traveling from the East Blue all the way to the Grand Line, they had encountered various ability users and formidable foes.
But the power Feng Ye had just displayed surpassed anything Jesus could comprehend! To devour the clouds from the entire sky, transform them into a gigantic water ball, and then release it back into the sea—such a spectacle was akin to a divine miracle!
Was this the power a human could possess?!
In the midst of the silence,
Feng Ye, having accomplished all this, lowered his hand and turned to face Beckman and the others, who were still stunned, as well as Shanks, who had looked over. With a light smile, he said, "It seems the crisis has passed."
"Won't you invite me on board?"
As his words hung in the air, no one responded, and the sea remained silent, save for the sound of the breeze and the lapping waves.
After a few seconds,
Shanks snapped out of his daze, sheathed his sword, and flashed a sunny smile at Feng Ye. "Thank you, senior! I'm Shanks. Come aboard our ship for a feast!"
Only he, an apprentice on the Pirate King's ship, could recover so quickly from such an awe-inspiring display.
"Sure," Feng Ye replied with a slight smile. Turning towards the cabin, he called out, "Robin, no need to cook. Let's join the feast!"
