Chapter 343: The Dragon Battle
Chapter 343: The Dragon Battle
At that moment, Kyle finally understood what Charlie had meant earlier.
A Hungarian Firebolt roared, spewing dragon flames that shattered the surrounding tranquility.
Immediately after, various dragons took to the skies like kites, roaring and spewing scorching flames.
Dragon handlers swiftly mounted their brooms and flew away from the area as quickly as possible.
"Damn it, Nobeata just laid her eggs! How did they start so early? Don't they need to rest?" Holman exclaimed anxiously as he rushed out.
"Be careful, Kyle!"
Charlie stuffed the roasted pudding into his pocket, hopped onto his broom, and followed suit.
In the blink of an eye, most of the people around them had disappeared.
Those who remained quickly composed themselves and hurriedly left the area.
"Let's go too." At that moment, Newt approached Kyle. "Do you have your flying broom with you? If not, there should be some spares here."
"I do." Kyle took out his Firebolt 2000, puzzled. "But are we going to mediate the dragon fight with them?"
Nearby, Edward Lima, who was passing by, paused upon hearing this and turned to glance at Kyle.
Young man, that's a dangerous idea.
Mediate a dragon fight?
This kid must be a Gryffindor!
"Of course not." Newt shook his head with a smile and explained, "We can't stop the dragons from fighting, nor should we intervene.
Dragons are proud creatures, and if a wizard interferes, such battles will never end.
For the reserve, this is a necessary process."
Kyle followed Newt deep into the reserve and landed on a hill.
"So, what are we going to do?"
"It's simple. We'll treat the defeated dragons who have conceded and prevent them from dying."
Newt handed Kyle three large bottles.
"These are the potions needed to treat the dragons. The instructions are on the labels. Take a moment to read them carefully so you don't make a mistake."
Kyle quickly took the bottles.
The largest bottle had a label that read, "Burns, Apply Topically."
There was also a bottle of White Jasmine Perfume, which Kyle recognized as a treatment for bite wounds.
The last bottle was labeled with a sleeping potion... not the Elixir of Life and Death, but a stronger potion for magical creatures.
Kyle looked down at the potions, while Newt stared intently at the chaotic battle above.
Time passed...
As night fell, the battle showed no signs of subsiding.
During this time, Kyle managed to collect two bottles of dragon blood, a small bag of dragon scales, seven broken teeth, and half a claw.
These items had fallen from the sky, and there were more in other places, but they were too far for Kyle to reach.
And he wasn't the only one doing this.
On another hill far away, a small black dot was moving swiftly, collecting dragon scales, teeth, and other items from the ground.
It was a house-elf, but Kyle couldn't tell who it belonged to.
The distance was too great to see clearly.
Moreover, house-elves all looked similar, so even if Kyle had seen it, he might not have recognized it.
The battle raged on from afternoon until late into the night.
The dragon reserve had no searchlights, but the dragon flames illuminated the surroundings brightly.
After about half an hour, a light blue Swedish Short-Snout Dragon suddenly fell from the sky, crashing into a nearby forest.
"Does this count as a defeat?
Kyle was about to approach the dragon, but was stopped by a hand after taking just a few steps.
Newt shook his head, "Not yet, wait a little longer."
As soon as he finished speaking, the dragon struggled to fly again.
"We must wait until the dragon surrenders or is on the verge of death before we can treat them," Newt said.
"Stay calm, this is bound to be a tedious process," Newt said.
"But what if it's a stubborn one that refuses to give up?" Kyle looked at the Swedish Short-Snout Dragon in the sky, which was flying unsteadily.
It was fighting with an Australian Dragon over a valley with a lake, and its wings were almost broken.
Of course, the Australian Dragon was no better off, and half of the dragon blood Kyle had collected was contributed by these two dragons.
"If it doesn't surrender, we'll just have to wait for the other situation," Newt said. "For a dragon, losing consciousness in battle is equivalent to defeat, but that situation might be more troublesome for us."
After another ten minutes...
The Swedish Short-Snout Dragon fell from the sky again, its left wing completely broken, hanging limply beside it, and its tail was also shorter.
The Australian Dragon followed and landed, pressing its head with its claws and trying to bite its neck.
The Short-Snout Dragon immediately emitted a short, sharp hiss...
"It surrendered..."
Before Kyle could finish, Newt had already left the hill, moving with agility that belied his age.
The Australian Dragon also released its mouth and sprayed a burst of dragon flame into the sky in a victorious pose, then spread its wings and flew away.
By the time Kyle arrived, Newt was examining the Short-Snout Dragon.
In fact, this task was not as simple as it seemed.
The losing dragon was already annoyed... The angry dragon didn't care whether they were there to help treat it or not, and sneezed at Newt.
A burst of flame grazed his hair and landed on the tree behind him.
Newt was already used to this situation and quickly took out his wand.
"Stupefy!"
The Short-Snout Dragon's head wobbled, and although it didn't completely pass out, it did quiet down significantly.
"The rest is up to you," Newt said, applying the White Jasmine Perfume to its neck and walking away without looking back.
Kyle sighed.
So he was just a translator, huh...
But to be honest, this wasn't the first time, and he was already used to it.
It was just that before, he was chatting with the Invisible Creature and the Occamy, and now he was with the dragon, essentially no different.
Kyle walked to the head of the Swedish Short-Snout Dragon and spoke to it.
Upon realizing that it could understand the human wizard's words, the Short-Snout Dragon lifted its head in surprise.
However, it soon felt much more comfortable in its injured areas and only then did it close its eyes slightly.
Its throat moved, emitting a very soft mutter.
Upon hearing this sound, Newt smiled and said, "As I thought, having you here is much more convenient. Otherwise, I'd have to use potions to calm it down.
Was it expressing gratitude just now?"
"No..."
Kyle's mouth twitched, "In fact, it's cursing us for meddling, and it's using very foul language."
Newt paused, holding the bottle.
"If you say so, I'll let it go."
Kyle replied with annoyance, "Using the White Jasmine Perfume on it is a bit of a waste."
