Chapter 343: Fly, Kuzan!
Chapter 343: Fly, Kuzan!
Facing the gigantic ice bird falling from the sky, Feng Ye remained calm, a slight smile playing on his lips. He curled his left hand into a simple punching posture and threw an upward punch.
Boom!!!
What seemed like an ordinary punch caused the air to suddenly cave in, leaving a massive imprint of a fist.
The giant ice bird's beak froze in mid-air, and then it shattered into pieces. The terrifying force swept behind to Kuzan, causing his body to explode into countless sparkling ice shards that fell like stars under the sunlight.
Standing next to Feng Ye, Robin watched this scene in awe. She knew the strength of Kuzan, the one who had destroyed Ohara, but she had never imagined Feng Ye's power to be so formidable! Just the day before, she had even thought he was an ordinary man!
As she gazed at the countless falling ice shards and then up at the sky, her astonished expression froze. Her eyes widened in disbelief as if she had just witnessed something unimaginable.
On the other side, the countless shattered ice shards rearranged themselves on the sea's surface, freezing a large area. Kuzan's figure reappeared as he flashed back to the shore.
Kuzan's gaze toward Feng Ye had changed drastically. If before, Feng Ye had only demonstrated a good grasp of his Devil Fruit ability, then the previous punch could not be described as merely that! That punch, whether in terms of speed or explosive power, far exceeded his expectations!
Just then, Kuzan noticed Robin standing next to Feng Ye, staring blankly into the sky as if she had seen something that shocked her to her core.
Kuzan paused for a moment, then followed her gaze upward.
In the midst of the silence, his expression, actions, and body froze.
High up in the sky, a floating cloud revealed a massive hole in its center, piercing through the entire cloud and revealing the azure sky above!
The hole was shaped like a fist, as if a mighty punch had punched through the very heavens!
"Hey, hey..."
"No way..."
Kuzan broke into a cold sweat as disbelief filled his eyes.
Just then, Feng Ye, who had been within his sight, suddenly vanished from his original spot and appeared before him at a speed so fast that he could barely react.
Kuzan's pupils constricted sharply, and he instinctively lashed out with a kick. But before he could make contact, Feng Ye grabbed him by the collar.
Then, Feng Ye smiled at him and said, "Good luck."
Before Kuzan could process the meaning of those words, he felt as if he had been struck by something heavy. His mind grew cloudy, and he found himself unable to move, as if some force was enveloping him, leaving him helpless to struggle.
Watching Kuzan fly toward the horizon and disappear at the edge of the sky, Feng Ye retracted his palm and clapped his hands together in front of him, as if discarding some trash.
Then, he returned to Robin's side. Seeing that she was still dazed, he smiled and said, "Let's go, Robin."
...
In a daze, Kuzan flew across the sky.
After an unknown amount of time, his consciousness finally cleared, but when he tried to steady himself, he found he couldn't move at all. He felt as if he were being carried by a terrifying force, and the scenery around him was changing at a rapid pace, like a high-speed slideshow.
After what felt like an eternity,
Boom!!!
He finally collided with something—perhaps a mountain—and his body smashed into the peak, shattering into countless ice fragments.
He looked around.
All he could see were spiderweb-like cracks spreading out in all directions, reaching deep into the darkness. The nearby area was filled with rocks, most of which appeared to be a reddish color.
He looked up and ahead, toward the direction from which the light was shining in. After catching his breath, he leaped forward.
Whoosh! !
On one of the towering red cliffs that stretched to the edge of the horizon, Kuzan emerged from a massive fissure.
He stood at the edge of the fissure, his hand bracing against the adjacent wall. He looked down at the sea below, his expression filled with bewilderment. Then, he lifted his head and gazed around, taking in the endless stretch of red cliffs reaching to the far end of the ocean.
Kuzan's expression froze.
These towering, endless red cliffs were all too familiar to him—so familiar that he knew their name as well as anyone else in the world who had ever seen a map of it.
They were called—
The Red Line!
...
Half a day later.
In the highest-level office of the Marine Headquarters.
Admiral Sengoku, who had been standing by the table munching on rice crackers, suddenly stood up, his mouth still full, as he stared in astonishment at Kuzan, who stood before the office desk.
Seated on the nearby sofa, Garp, who had been eating a doughnut, also froze for a moment before blinking and slowly taking another bite.
Behind the Marshal's desk.
Fleet Admiral Kong stood up and stared intently at Kuzan, saying, "You said someone threw you from an island near the entrance to the Grand Line all the way to the Red Line?"
"That seems to be the case..."
Kuzan replied with a difficult expression.
Kong furrowed his brows and sat back down.
Sengoku turned to Kong and asked, "Is it really possible to fly directly from the entrance of the Grand Line to the Red Line, Marshal Kong?!"
The Red Line was a towering cliff that encircled the entire planet, dividing the world into two halves.
Flying from near the entrance of the Grand Line to the Red Line, which marked the end of the first half, meant traversing half of the world!
"It's possible,"
Kong replied grimly. "There's a Devil Fruit that can bounce off anything it touches—the Super Natural-type Flesh- Flesh Fruit. The ability of that fruit can send people flying great distances, but it should be 'Tyrant' Bartholomew Kuma's ability..."
Sengoku spoke in a low voice, "But that ability shouldn't be able to send someone flying this far, and Kuzan only took a few hours to get here from there."
"Perhaps it's a similar or even stronger ability,"
Kong said gravely. "In any case, that person is extremely powerful, and by harboring a government-wanted criminal, he's undoubtedly a dangerous individual. However, without a photo or even knowing his name, we can't issue a wanted notice to the World Government. For now, we can only make a temporary record."
Sengoku took a breath and nodded. "I'll have the intelligence department look for him and gather information about him immediately!"
"Mhm."
Kong nodded and then sighed. "With Kaido and Whitebeard still at large, and now this new player in the first half, we're facing many challenges."
