Chapter 342: The Power of the Golden Goblet (Third Update)
Chapter 342: The Power of the Golden Goblet (Third Update)
This time when entering the Harry Potter world, Jerry did not use his contract slots to bind the fierce Fire Dragons. Instead, he chose to contract Dementors.
The main reason was that while Fire Dragons were indeed powerful, they were also very conspicuous. In the magical world, they would be quite suitable, but in the modern world of Marvel, they would easily be targeted by advanced high-tech weapons.
Despite their formidable defenses, Fire Dragons would still be injured. Their high magical resistance makes healing spells ineffective, which would complicate the healing process.
Since he had no plans to start a war, he could contract the powerful Fire Dragons later.
Dementors, on the other hand, are largely immune to both modern weapons and most magic and supernatural abilities.
Although their attacks are not very strong or lethal, their control abilities are exceptional.
When faced with a powerful enemy, releasing over thirty Dementors to control them would allow Jerry to focus on dealing damage and finish the job.
So, even when he saw the massive Ukrainian Ironbelly in the Gringotts underground vault, he merely glanced at it in amazement before flying towards Vault 707, the Lestrange Vault.
"There are quite a few defensive spells on this!"
Seeing the numerous protective spells on the door of Vault 707, Jerry immediately summoned his Anti-Magic Sword and with one strike, instantly dispelled all the protective charms.
With no protective spells left, a simple Alohomora easily opened the vault door.
"Truly rich!"
The moment he opened the vault, Jerry almost went blind from the golden light reflecting off the treasures inside.
The entire vault was piled high with countless Galleons, gems, and various valuable items crafted by goblins, such as swords, helmets, and shields, all highly prized in the witching world.
At the very top of all these items sat a gleaming golden goblet, the Hufflepuff's Golden Goblet, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Without touching the treasure that had been subjected to the Inferno Charm and Duplication Spell, Jerry flew over and first took the golden goblet. He then used an Omni Undo to dispel the Inferno Charm and Duplication Spell on the treasure below, and with a Mind-Controlled spell, he stored everything in his Box Dimension.
He then closed the vault door and re-applied all the protective spells that had been on it before.
As long as the vault door remained closed, no one would know that the treasure had vanished.
The last few members of the Lestrange family were currently in his Spacetime Box, so it was unlikely that anyone would discover this secret in the near future.
Returning quietly to the Leaky Cauldron room, Jerry immediately entered the Box Dimension and sealed Voldemort's soul in the Matryoshka Doll using the golden goblet.
It didn't take him long to figure out the golden goblet's abilities.
They were really quite simple.
The golden goblet was a magical artifact created by Helga Hufflepuff, a witch who loved fine cuisine. Its ability was to instantly produce any food or drink you could think of.
In principle, magic cannot directly create food because it violates the fundamental Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration.
Despite her powerful magical abilities, Hufflepuff could not break this law.
However, Jerry's research revealed that the Transformation Magic Hufflepuff enchanted on the golden goblet was a clever workaround.
The golden goblet does not permanently create food; instead, it transforms the air inside the goblet into the desired food or drink. After you consume it, the food and drink will revert to air.
In principle, the food and drinks in the Golden Goblet only give you a taste and cannot truly satisfy your hunger or thirst.
So, even if the Golden Goblet could produce endless food and water in a situation where you have no real food or water, you would still starve and die of thirst no matter how much you ate.
However, from another perspective, it is an absolute blessing for those trying to lose weight.
Jerry even thought that Helga Hufflepuff created the Golden Goblet primarily to satisfy one's cravings.
The next day, everything was calm, and there was no major news of a break-in at Gringotts.
Clearly, the goblins had not noticed Jerry's actions from the previous night.
Early in the morning, Jerry left the Leaky Cauldron and, using the Black Coal ability, found the village of Little Hangleton. About four or five miles from the village, he discovered his destination—the Gaunt Shack.
Sixth-year Voldemort used the Killing Curse to murder his father, grandfather, and grandmother here. He then used Marvolo Gaunt's ring, which contained the Resurrection Stone, to create his second Horcrux and modified his uncle's memory to take the blame for all the crimes.
Now, that ring was inside the old, dilapidated shack, surrounded by tall nettles.
With the help of the Anti-Magic Sword, Jerry quickly broke through the various defensive and hidden magics Voldemort had left behind. In the underground storage room of the shack, he obtained the final Horcrux.
Using the Phantom Shift, Jerry returned to the Leaky Cauldron and sealed Voldemort's last soul fragment in the Matryoshka Doll.
Thus, Voldemort's fragmented soul, the diary, the crown, the soul fragment inside Harry, the locket, the Golden Goblet, and the ring—all seven of Voldemort's souls—were now sealed within the Matryoshka Doll.
Jerry also earned a good number of red stars.
Discarding the ring, Jerry took out the Resurrection Stone from it and studied it briefly before putting it away.
To him, the so-called Resurrection Stone, which was supposed to bring people back from the dead, was nothing more than a crutch.
He believed that the Resurrection Stone did not truly pull the souls of the dead from the afterlife but instead created a virtual image based on the user's memories.
The second of the three brothers might have committed suicide after discovering this fact and being unable to accept it.
On December 25, 1993, Christmas Day, in the afternoon, in the main hall on the first floor.
Dumbledore, Mcgonagall, Snape, Sprout, Flitwick, Trelawney, Sirius Black, Filch, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and two other first-year students and one fifth-year student, a total of fourteen people, sat at a long table.
"Merry Christmas!"
Dumbledore picked up a large silver cracker and handed it to Snape, gesturing for him to pull it before the meal began.
Snape, expressionless, pursed his lips. Although somewhat reluctant, he took it and was about to pull it.
At that moment, a figure appeared at the door of the Great Hall, dragging a suitcase and covered in snowflakes.
"Did I miss the Christmas lunch?"
"Jerry!"
Seeing the figure at the door, Hermione jumped up from her seat in surprise and ran over.
"How did you get back?"
"Thanks to the Knight Bus, which doesn't take a break even on Christmas Day!"
Jerry smiled and replied, releasing Hermione.
Snape, who had been expressionless while sitting at the table, looked at Jerry and Hermione and a fatherly smile appeared on his face. He then casually pulled the silver cracker.
