Chapter 340: Jerry's Reassuring Pill (First Update)
Chapter 340: Jerry’s Reassuring Pill (First Update)
"Seal it!"
Forcing the soul of Voldemort out of the Slytherin Pendant, Jerry then opened the fourth layer of the Matryoshka Doll and skillfully sealed it inside.
"Done!"
"What do you mean by Voldemort's Horcrux? And what did you just do?"
Sirius Black watched as Jerry performed a series of actions, extracting a dark and terrifying soul from a forgotten keepsake box and forcefully stuffing it into the Matryoshka Doll. He was completely stunned.
Jerry put away the pendant, picked up the Matryoshka Doll, and walked over to Sirius Black, casually releasing the bindings on him.
"If you're interested, I can tell you, but I hope you understand that I have no ill intentions. So, please don't try to attack me again; it would be futile!"
"Alright, I won't attack you anymore!"
Sirius Black knew the power of the middle-aged witch in front of him far exceeded his own. Otherwise, he and Kreacher wouldn't have been so easily subdued. Moreover, the witch had shown no hostility towards him throughout the entire encounter. He nodded and sat back down on the sofa.
Jerry, seeing this, placed the Matryoshka Doll on the table and began to explain:
"Actually, it all starts with Voldemort. Back then, Voldemort created several Horcruxes in his quest for eternal life. So, I invented a Sealing Spell that can imprison Voldemort's soul, preventing him from ever resurrecting."
"So, the soul you just sealed was from the Slytherin Pendant, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes?"
After hearing Jerry's explanation, Sirius Black was somewhat bewildered.
He was shocked by Voldemort's cruelty and the fact that he would kill to create Horcruxes. He was also amazed by the witch's incredible skill in inventing a Sealing Spell to counter Voldemort's magic. Jerry had already sealed four of Voldemort's souls, and only two more were needed to completely seal Voldemort and thwart his resurrection plans.
Of course, this was all contingent on the witch telling the truth and not making up a story.
Jerry, clearly aware of Sirius Black's doubts, continued:
"Actually, your house-elf, Kreacher, also knows about this. After all, this pendant was obtained at the cost of your brother's life."
"What? What does this have to do with my brother?"
Sirius Black, his face full of surprise, turned to Kreacher and demanded:
"Tell me, what do you know?"
Jerry waved his hand, releasing Kreacher from the Full Body Bind Curse.
Kreacher, remembering his master Regulus, who had been kind to him and even sacrificed himself to save him, could not help but shed tears of sorrow.
"Back then, the Dark Lord borrowed me from my master, and then..."
As Kreacher recounted the story, Sirius Black's expression changed, eventually leading to a sad sigh:
"My foolish brother. I thought he had backed out at the last moment and was killed by Voldemort. I never imagined it was like this."
"Alright, that's how it happened. I need to go now. There are still two more of Voldemort's Horcruxes that need to be sealed to prevent any unforeseen circumstances."
Jerry, having achieved his goal, put away the Matryoshka Doll and got up to leave.
"Do you need my help?"
Thanks to Kreacher's confirmation, Sirius Black was now mostly convinced of Jerry's story.
Jerry shook his head:
"No, I already know what the remaining two Horcruxes are and where they are located. If everything goes well, I can seal them within the next couple of days."
"Can I ask if you were the one who took the Death Eaters from Azkaban?"
After hesitating for a moment, Sirius Black decided to voice his lingering doubts.
Jerry did not deny it, but he added a bit of nuance to his response:
"Yes, I took them all, including the Dementors. I don't think the current Ministry of Magic is entirely trustworthy, as some Death Eaters still linger within its ranks.
I was concerned that these Death Eaters in Azkaban might cause trouble in the future, so I took them away.
Rest assured, they will never appear in this world again!"
"Never appear in this world again!"
Sirius Black couldn't help but swallow hard at these words, as his first thought was that the Death Eaters had all been killed.
"Can I ask one last thing? How did you know these secrets? Of course, you don't have to answer if it's inconvenient."
Although he was wary of Jerry's ruthlessness in eliminating the Death Eaters, he genuinely believed that Jerry had done the right thing.
Still, for his own peace of mind, he wanted to gather as much information as possible so that he could report it to Dumbledore once Jerry left.
"There's no inconvenience. I am a Seer with an open Third Eye, endowed with powerful divination abilities. I glimpsed some answers from the flow of time.
I feel that what I am doing now is my responsibility!"
With a righteous expression, Jerry delivered the lines he had prepared in advance. Without waiting for a response, he performed an Apparition and vanished from the spot.
After Jerry disappeared, Sirius Black stood there in a daze for a moment before picking up the small Pettigrew from the floor, grabbing Kreacher, and throwing a handful of Floo Powder into the roaring fireplace.
The red flames in the fireplace turned emerald green under the effect of the Floo Powder.
"Hogwarts!"
With a shout, the two men and the house-elf vanished into the green flames.
Under normal circumstances, Hogwarts Castle, to ensure the safety of young wizards, keeps the Floo Network in its fireplaces closed, except in special situations, such as when Fudge visited personally.
The reason Sirius Black's fireplace was connected to Hogwarts Castle was that he had planned to spend Christmas with his godson Harry at the castle. He had specially requested permission from Dumbledore and Fudge.
Dumbledore, of course, agreed, and Fudge, feeling guilty for wrongly accusing Sirius Black for twelve years, couldn't refuse and granted him temporary access to the Floo Network.
"Sirius Black, there are still three days until Christmas. You're here early. Oh, and you're holding Pettigrew!"
In the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, Dumbledore was sitting on the couch knitting a sweater when he saw Sirius Black and the small Pettigrew emerge from the fireplace. He immediately looked surprised.
He had been the first to learn about the disappearance from Azkaban and the rescue of the Death Eaters, as Fudge had come to Hogwarts seeking his advice immediately.
"Headmaster, I have something very important to tell you. It concerns Voldemort, Azkaban, and the Death Eaters!"
Sirius Black set Pettigrew down and spoke urgently.
Upon hearing that it involved Voldemort, Dumbledore put down the half-knitted sweater and adopted a serious expression.
