Chapter 34: The Clever Little Skeleton
Chapter 34: The Clever Little Skeleton
In Lu Wu's room, after finishing his meal, he retreated to his room and spent three hours researching, finally grasping a fleeting spark of inspiration regarding skill training optimization.
Lu Wu was overjoyed and quickly seized this momentary insight. He leaped out of his seat and placed his hand on the head of the little skeleton, who was sitting beside him, holding a phone and watching TV with headphones on.
He summoned the Attribute Board and pulled up the Skill Bar, skillfully bringing up the training program for the skill [Charge], which he had already optimized to version 5.0. Then, he opened the skill training modification page and began working on it intently.
The little skeleton was no stranger to this situation. It merely turned its head to glance at Lu Wu, its Eye Flame flickering, before turning back to its phone and continuing to watch Peppa Pig, its daily entertainment and current obsession.
On Lu Wu's side, after capturing that spark of inspiration, it took him only half an hour to successfully put it into practice.
With this fleeting insight, Lu Wu optimized the [Charge] training program to version 6.0.
[Ding! [Charge Assault Training Scheme 6.0] optimization successful. Do you wish to review it?]
"Yes!"
As Lu Wu nodded without hesitation, a skill training program page appeared before him.
...
Training Program: Charge Assault Training Scheme 6.0
Optimization: Version 6.0 of the program significantly improves upon version 5.0.
The effect of Charge has been greatly enhanced, and the skill now includes charging during the charge process and an explosive release after the charge concludes.
Program Evaluation: The Charge skill has been modified to a certain extent, adding an explosive power to what was originally just a rushing skill. The trade-off is a decrease in agility.
It is recommended to use this in conjunction with skills like [Forceful Strike] and [Heavy Swing] to maximize the effectiveness of Charge.
Ps: This is a pretty decent training program, definitely better than the previous ones you submitted.
The next step in modifying this 6.0 version training program is to add the charging and explosive release. Keep up the effort, you cheating youth, and don't let the God of Gambling outshine you!
...
Looking at this 6.0 version training program, Lu Wu was extremely satisfied.
Although he wasn't sure about the effect of this training program yet, without the combination of skills like [Forceful Strike] and [Heavy Swing], he was confident that with the right training, the little skeleton's combat power would take a qualitative leap.
"Not bad, my efforts this period weren't in vain! With the optimization of the [Charge] skill, the remaining two skills will be much easier to conquer. I believe I can complete the optimization of those two skills within a week."
"Give me another week of training, and by then, the little skeleton, with three optimized skills, will be able to rival that pig."
Of course, this assumption is based on the pig not using its bond skill.
However, in one or two weeks, the little skeleton's strength enhancement program should be ready, further boosting its power.
Lu Wu was confident that he could catch up to Duddu and her team before the tournament.
With the optimization complete, Lu Wu, feeling good, joined the little skeleton to watch some TV.
Hmm, the habit of watching television is something that Li Wu picked up from Duddu.
She would cuddle her pet pig while binge-watching shows, and Li Wu thought this might be a way to increase their affinity, so he decided to give it a try.
After adopting this habit, Li Wu wasn't sure if their affinity had improved, but he did notice that since letting the little skeleton watch TV, its mind seemed to be getting sharper by the day.
Before watching TV, if Li Wu didn't give it a command, the skeleton would just stand there like a lifeless skeleton.
Now, it occasionally makes little gestures and sometimes imitates actions from the shows, although it might lead to some amusing outcomes. Still, Li Wu feels that the little guy has become much smarter.
So, watching television is one of the few habits that Li Wu learned from Duddu and has continued to this day.
Every night, after finishing his tasks, Li Wu would accompany the little skeleton in watching TV. During these moments, Li Wu always feels like his affinity with the little skeleton is increasing, as if they are about to become close friends. But Li Wu has no evidence of this.
After all, the attribute board doesn't show an affinity gauge, and the skeleton can't speak, so Li Wu can only rely on his feelings regarding their affinity.
Although feelings can sometimes be misleading, Li Wu believes that as long as he continues watching TV with the little skeleton, they will eventually become close friends.
Well, this was Li Wu's thought before today, but now he is starting to doubt this idea.
Here's what happened.
After watching TV with the little skeleton until past one o'clock, Li Wu remembered that he had to go to school tomorrow, so he went to sleep, leaving the little skeleton alone to continue watching.
This was a normal occurrence, as the little skeleton didn't need sleep and could watch until dawn.
The problem arose when, while watching TV, it saw a scene where the male lead was covering the female lead with a blanket.
The little skeleton paused, its eyes flickering, and it turned to look at Li Wu, who was sleeping on the other side. Coincidentally, Li Wu's sleeping posture wasn't great, and he had kicked off the blanket.
The little skeleton, seeing this, quickly covered Li Wu with the blanket.
Although the little skeleton itself didn't quite understand why it was covering Li Wu, it was simply imitating what it saw. But after doing so, it felt like it had accomplished something extraordinary, causing its eyes to flicker with excitement.
At that moment, Li Wu kicked again, uncovering the blanket.
The little skeleton thought the scene was different from what it saw on TV, but it still covered Li Wu again. However, within a couple of minutes, Li Wu kicked it off once more.
And so, a back-and-forth battle ensued.
Li Wu would kick the blanket off, and the little skeleton would cover him again.
After several rounds of this, the little skeleton started to feel unhappy.
It pondered for a moment and concluded that the problem must be with the blanket. The blanket was being naughty, and it needed to tie it up.
Yes, that's it!
The little skeleton felt incredibly clever! Luckily, there was a rope in Li Wu's room, and it picked it up, ready to take action.
But the little skeleton had never done this before, and as it stood by Li Wu's bed, holding the rope and making various gestures, it accidentally touched Li Wu's neck with the rope. Just at that moment, Li Wu, who had been disturbed, opened his eyes...
