Chapter 339: The Terminator Bound by the Nemean Lion's Skin
Chapter 339: The Terminator Bound by the Nemean Lion's Skin
"I'm back, Dionysus, see if it works." Heracles threw the Terminator onto the ground.
It seemed there were no major issues. The Terminator was tightly wrapped in a lion's skin, and even though it was made of liquid metal, it had no way to break free.
This lion's skin was not an ordinary one; it was the hide of the Nemean Lion, one of the Twelve Labors. The Nemean Lion was a child of Typhon and Echidna, naturally making it extremely powerful.
However, the Nemean Lion had already been resurrected by Typhon and was now fighting in the Horror Universe, escaping a certain death. If not for this, it would still be dead.
"It works, but this will hinder my research, which is a bit troublesome." Qin Muye looked at it and felt rather helpless. Without the lion's skin to suppress it, Qin Muye couldn't do anything to the Terminator and might even be killed by it.
"I'll handle it; after all, it's just a puppet." Prometheus spoke up at the right moment.
Heracles was indeed at a loss; he was better at physical combat and was not skilled in magical aspects.
On the contrary, Prometheus, who had created humans and stolen the fire, was more adept at such matters.
"Alright, then it's up to you." Heracles said, pulling off the lion's skin that was wrapped around the Terminator.
The moment the Terminator was freed, it immediately came to life, with its target being Qin Muye, of course.
However, it underestimated Prometheus, an ancient being who had lived for countless years. Using some unknown ability, Prometheus gradually immobilized the Terminator's body. Even as the liquid metal flowed wildly and magnetic fields turned, it was all in vain.
In the end, it became a living statue.
"I can sense the presence of the fire in this Terminator, which is quite intriguing, but it seems different." As a god who had stolen the fire, Prometheus had not noticed this before, but upon getting closer, he felt something different.
"The Fire of Primordial, the origin and end of a silicon-based life form. Although I don't know why it ended up in Skynet's hands, it's likely because they are from the same world." Qin Muye explained.
The Fire of Primordial from "Transformers" was somewhat related to the myth of Prometheus stealing the fire. Meeting the original source, he naturally found it familiar.
"Silicon-based life forms?" Heracles was a bit puzzled.
"Something like this Terminator. Imagine a fridge that can replace a human." Qin Muye explained.
"A fridge? What's that, a box that freezes things?" Prometheus was confused, understanding that silicon-based life forms were roughly equivalent to living puppets, but the concept of a fridge puzzled him.
After all, he had always walked among humans and was not aware of the changes among the gods.
"A box used to store and freeze food to prevent it from spoiling." Qin Muye clarified for Prometheus.
"It seems the gods have undergone changes I was unaware of." Prometheus understood.
Having stayed in Qin Muye's territory for so long, he had not enjoyed any modern conveniences and had only watched Qin Muye analyze the Terminator, so he was unfamiliar with many things.
"Since you have nothing to do, you can have Heracles take you to experience modern life. Otherwise, you might become a bumpkin, which wouldn't be fitting for someone named Prometheus." Qin Muye teased.
This made Prometheus pause, then he recovered. "But if we all leave, are you sure you'll be fine? The 8th-tier Terminator is quite formidable for you alone."
"Alright, you can go find Briareus. They are quite fond of it, and you can take turns protecting me. I'm sure they won't mind." Qin Muye's intention was for Heracles to stay and protect him, with the five of them taking turns.
"Of course, no problem. How should I leave here? I know nothing about it." Prometheus did not refuse, as he did not want to be left behind by the times.
"Just go out the door, and a spirit will guide you. Honestly, Heracles is more forward-thinking than you these days."
Qin Muye smiled.
"That's a good thing. I'll leave first and come back to replace you tomorrow, Heracles." Prometheus finished speaking and left in the direction Qin Muye had pointed.
Once Prometheus was far enough away, Qin Muye said, "It seems Prometheus is worried I might trick you."
"Indeed, he has good foresight," Heracles replied, not minding Qin Muye's straightforwardness.
"Aren't you worried?" Qin Muye asked in return.
"Not really. Although your actions aren't exactly just, they are necessary given your position," Heracles explained. He didn't force Qin Muye to do good deeds; he understood Qin Muye's difficult situation, where a single mistake could be fatal.
For Heracles, there was a sense of right and wrong, but it also depended on one's stance and alliance. If the other side was willing to negotiate peacefully, he would advise Qin Muye to be more restrained. But since the other side clearly wanted Qin Muye dead, it was war, and in war, only victory mattered, not morality.
Besides, he was here to help Qin Muye win, not to uphold justice.
"Tsk, your way of speaking is quite artful, much better than mine," Qin Muye acknowledged that Heracles had high emotional intelligence.
After all, Heracles had been through many trials and had a knack for diplomacy, which is why he could complete the Twelve Labors and win the heart of a beauty. Just because he was a demigod with great strength didn't mean he was a brute. Zhang Fei was impulsive, but he wasn't unintelligent.
"Art must be integrated into life. By the way, do you have any books on physics and mathematics? I think these essential knowledge are necessary to perfect Dionysus's Dark Star," Heracles asked.
"Sure, I'll have someone bring them to you. It's best to start from the basics," Qin Muye said. When he taught Heracles before, Heracles had learned through academic rigor, but he still needed the foundational knowledge. Some concepts were hard to grasp, but at least he knew how to study them.
So, Heracles sought this knowledge from Qin Muye. Qin Muye was not stingy; the knowledge he had learned had little value to him.
He wasn't like those protagonists who hoard everything, keeping it all to themselves. As long as he could learn it, he didn't mind sharing.
Of course, enemies were an exception. Qin Muye was kind only to his allies.
He had a broad perspective, but it wasn't boundless. He didn't think about making everyone in the server or the dungeon as powerful as dragons, nor did he have that obligation.
Heracles was sort of considered an ally, so Qin Muye was not stingy with him.
As for Hades, he was unwilling to learn, so Qin Muye couldn't do much. Persephone was the same.
Hecate, on the other hand, was more concerned with her powers than with learning, a common trait among the Titans.
Heracles, however, was not a Titan. He was a demigod and had received corresponding education from a young age.
The books were quickly arranged and delivered. Heracles started reading as soon as they arrived, but he found it challenging, much like an athlete reading academic books. His strengths lay elsewhere.
But he had no choice and had to push through. After all, Dionysus's Dark Star was not a typical cultivation method.
Unlike some protagonists who could learn techniques without specialized knowledge by simply absorbing energy, this method, derived from the four fundamental forces, required extensive knowledge to perfect and optimize for further growth.
It was like a superpower that could manipulate magnetic fields, capable of creation itself.
After finishing one book, Heracles looked a bit troubled, "Although I have the knowledge Dionysus taught me, I don't think I'm cut out for this. Maybe Athena can help me."
"Keep reading for now. I'll find time to teach you, and then you can review on your own," Qin Muye said.
"That's great. Your teaching is much more effective than my self-study," Heracles replied, knowing how miraculous Qin Muye's teaching was. Once he explained it, Heracles would understand it immediately, without needing to put in much effort, just focus on listening.
