Chapter 339: The Great Battle
Chapter 339: The Great Battle
"Leave the task of finding the brat to us. As for the rest, we won't be involved."
Lyt nodded at Brock's words, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across his face. He loved this kind of cat-and-mouse game.
There were still two weeks until the next full moon, giving them plenty of time to play.
Brock frowned but said nothing. He and Lyt's group were only in a cooperative relationship, and he couldn't interfere with their decisions.
Lyt quickly stood up, preparing to leave with his two subordinates. Brock didn't try to detain them.
Ivan, who had been listening for a long time, no longer waited. He gripped his Wand and activated the Enhanced Runic Inscription, beginning to channel the spell.
Just as they were about to leave, Brock suddenly shouted, "Wait!"
"What is it?" Lyt turned around, asking impatiently.
Brock's eyes were fixed on Lyt, his face showing confusion. The Scrying Eye in his left hand was also restlessly scanning the surroundings.
Ivan, hidden under the Invisibility Cloak, couldn't help but feel nervous. Was he discovered? Could it be because of the magical fluctuations when he channeled the spell? But those should have been blocked by the Invisibility Cloak.
Following Brock's gaze, Ivan noticed that a few bricks on the ground at the entrance had turned a bright red.
Seeing this, Ivan's face changed. Clearly, this was another detection spell. He remembered walking over that spot when he entered, and the Invisibility Cloak couldn't protect his feet!
Realizing this, Ivan knew he couldn't wait any longer! He issued the order to attack through the Extendable Ear and stopped channeling, taking the initiative to strike!
A Wand appeared out of thin air, its tip gradually igniting with a blazing flame that quickly grew larger in the wind.
Lyt, still unaware of what was happening, was about to leave, annoyed by Brock's silence.
At that moment, a sense of foreboding washed over Lyt.
Lyt, with his extensive combat experience, trusted his instincts. He instinctively turned his head and saw a massive, meter-wide, orange-red fireball hurtling towards him.
Lyt's face paled, his hair stood on end, and his pupils constricted. He could almost feel Death's approach!
"Impedimenta!" Lyt drew his Wand at his fastest speed and shouted.
Brock and the others reacted quickly as well. Except for a few who panicked, they all cast spells in unison upon seeing the fireball.
The combined defenses of several Wizards, even in a rush, formed visible Magic Barriers.
Lyt, being the closest, was the most unfortunate. His hastily constructed Magic Barrier held for only a moment before being shattered, leaving him to watch helplessly as the fireball drew closer and finally struck him.
The scorching flames burned Lyt's body. As a Werewolf Wizard, his pride in his vitality now became a torment. He could clearly feel the searing flames licking his skin, then being pushed backward by the solid fireball, crashing into the Magic Barriers behind him.
"No! Save me!" Lyt, trapped in the middle, let out a desperate roar.
But no one paid attention to his cries. Everyone knew he was beyond saving, and Brock and the others had to work even harder to maintain the defenses behind Lyt.
Crack
Gradually, the barrier constructed by multiple Wizards began to show cracks.
After a moment of stalemate, the fireball expanded and exploded, unleashing scorching flames and violent shockwaves that ravaged the drawing room. The glass windows and doors shattered under the impact.
The sturdy Magic Barrier held for a while but eventually shattered with a loud boom.
Two Wizards who were nearby couldn't withstand the aftermath and were thrown back.
Fortunately, the Magic Barrier and Lyt's presence successfully absorbed most of the damage, so these people only suffered minor injuries. The ones standing further back, like Brock, remained in place, though they looked disheveled.
The only one hit directly by the Thunderclap Explosion, Lyt, was now a mess. His entire body was covered in wounds, with one arm and half a leg blown off. He lay on the ground, silent.
Seeing that his Thunderclap Explosion had only taken out one person, Ivan felt a bit disappointed, but he wasn't surprised.
When he saw so many Wizards gathered together, he knew this ambush had failed.
After all, a Spell like the Thunderclap Explosion, with its wide area of effect, required him to be at a distance to avoid harming himself. This distance gave Brock and the others enough time to react and build defenses to withstand the Spell. Therefore, Ivan decisively targeted the closest person, Lyt, and resolved to take him out first!
Moreover, this Thunderclap Explosion also served as a signal to start the battle, allowing Aisha and the others waiting outside to pinpoint the location.
It also kept Brock and the others occupied, otherwise, they would have overwhelmed Ivan, and even he wouldn't stand a chance!
As Brock caught his breath and saw that a quarter of the drawing room had been destroyed, his heart ached, knowing how many precious magical items had been ruined.
In the chaos of the explosion, Ivan's figure, hidden under the Invisibility Cloak, became faintly visible to Brock and the others.
"You bastard!" Brock looked at Ivan with a mix of anger and shock.
When he first sensed someone infiltrating, he had wondered if it might be Aisha, who had somehow escaped and come back. But he never imagined it would be that young boy.
What surprised him even more was that Ivan could cast such a powerful Spell!
But Ivan didn't give them time to react. He waved his Wand, and a white mist rose, forming a massive white beast that let out a roar and charged at Brock and the others like a bolt of white lightning.
The Wizards immediately cast various Spells, aiming them at the Shadow of the Unicorn, but their magic proved ineffective.
As the white figure approached, the Death Eaters, who had their own ulterior motives, panicked. Having witnessed Ivan's powerful magic, they didn't believe this white light was harmless.
"Use the Patronus Charm!" Brock, being experienced, quickly shouted and immediately cast his own Patronus.
A nimble weasel appeared, bravely facing the white light in the air and standing in front of it!
But in the next moment, it was kicked away by the Shadow of the Unicorn.
