Chapter 339: A Deal with Sirius Black (Third Update)
Chapter 339: A Deal with Sirius Black (Third Update)
"Quite a bit of magic indeed!"
On Grimmauld Place, Jerry looked at the number 12 residence, which was protected by the Fidelius Charm, Muggle-Repelling Charm, and a series of other secrecy spells, and couldn't help but let out a sigh.
Fortunately, the Black Family Manor had not yet become the base of the Order of the Phoenix, nor had Dumbledore cast the Fidelius Charm on it.
Therefore, he could still find it based on the address from his past life.
The purpose of his visit to the Black Family Manor was simple: to retrieve the Horcrux, Salazar Slytherin's locket, hidden within the manor.
If he remembered correctly, Voldemort had once borrowed Kreacher from Regulus, using the house-elf to hide the Horcrux locket in a cave by the sea near an orphanage.
After using Kreacher, Voldemort left alone, leaving the house-elf behind to be fed to the Inferi he had created.
However, house-elves are not affected by the Anti-Apparition Charm, so Kreacher instantly transported back to the Black Family Manor and informed Regulus of what had happened.
Upon learning Voldemort's true nature, Regulus sent Kreacher back to the cave with him, using his life to bypass Voldemort's traps, swapping the locket, and instructing Kreacher to take it away and destroy it.
Unfortunately, a house-elf was not capable of destroying Voldemort's Horcrux, Salazar Slytherin's locket, so it remained hidden in the manor.
Using a Disguise Spell to change his appearance, Jerry transformed into a middle-aged witch in her forties and approached the dilapidated front door of number 12.
The door, likely due to years of disuse, was peeling black paint with numerous scratches.
Jerry knocked on the door with the snake-like silver knocker, and soon a skeletal-looking middle-aged witch appeared from behind the door.
"Excuse me, witch, who are you looking for?"
Sirius Black looked at the unfamiliar middle-aged witch with a puzzled expression and asked.
Jerry removed his hat and smiled, replying, "I'm looking for you, Sirius Black!"
On the sofa in the first-floor living room, Sirius Black frowned as he looked at the witch who called herself "J."
"You say you want to take something from my house?"
"Not take, but exchange, and I promise it will be to your satisfaction!"
Jerry smiled calmly.
Sirius Black's frown deepened.
"I'm sorry, I don't need to exchange anything with you. You can leave now!"
A strange witch suddenly showing up and offering to exchange something from his house felt very odd to him.
Inheriting the long and rich legacy of the Black family, Sirius Black was not short of Galleons and had no interest in such a peculiar exchange.
Hearing Sirius Black's straightforward refusal, Jerry did not lose heart. Instead, he confidently replied, "How about you take a look at the item I want to exchange, and then you can decide. If you still insist after seeing it, I'll leave immediately."
"Alright, show me what you have."
Sirius Black hesitated for a moment but ultimately agreed.
Jerry took out a box and, with a wave of his hand, a fat man bound in ropes and unconscious appeared on the living room floor.
Sirius Black's pupils dilated as he recognized the figure on the floor, and he immediately stood up, exclaiming, "Peter Pettigrew!"
However, he quickly realized something and swiftly drew his wand, pointing it at Jerry and demanding, "Who are you really?"
Just a couple of days ago, all the Death Eaters were rescued from Azkaban, and now a strange witch has brought the rescued Peter Pettigrew to him. It was hard not to be suspicious of her true identity.
"Mr. Black, please put down your wand. I have no ill intentions; I simply want to make a deal with you!"
Jerry remained seated on the sofa, maintaining a smile.
Sirius Black narrowed his eyes, unmoved, and replied:
"I'm afraid that's not possible. You need to explain why Peter Pettigrew is with you, or I'll take you to the Ministry of Magic, where the Aurors can question you."
"Is that so? Then I must apologize, Shadow!"
As Jerry spoke, the shadow beneath Sirius Black suddenly came to life, crawling up his body. It caught him off guard, knocking the wand from his hand, and then transformed into black ropes, binding him tightly.
Initially, considering Sirius Black's role as Harry's godfather, Jerry had intended to avoid violence and retrieve the locket amicably. But since that wasn't possible, he had to resort to force.
"Protego!"
Just as Jerry was about to head upstairs to find Slytherin's locket, a beam of magical light shot from the kitchen toward him. However, he quickly blocked it with the Protego spell.
"Almost forgot about the house-elf."
Turning around, he saw that the attacker was an old house-elf.
Kreacher, though he detested his current master, Sirius Black, the ingrained loyalty of a house-elf compelled him to protect his master.
"Shadow!"
Jerry launched another shadow magic attack.
But this time, Kreacher dodged it with an Apparition.
Most house-elves can cast spells silently and wandlessly, and their casting speed is not slow. For a house-elf of Kreacher's age, this was no issue.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Seeing Kreacher disappear, Jerry remained calm, carefully sensing his surroundings. He then waved his hand and shot a magic beam toward Sirius Black's side.
A Spatial Distortion flashed, and Kreacher, who had just reappeared and was about to Apparate with Sirius Black, was hit by Jerry's pre-emptive attack. He was instantly immobilized.
Having studied Spatial Magic for so long, Jerry was intimately familiar with Spatial Distortions. As soon as Kreacher vanished, he immediately detected the Spatial Distortion near Sirius Black.
"What do you want?"
Seeing Kreacher defeated, Sirius Black, bound by the shadows and unable to move, roared in anger.
"Relax, I truly have no ill intentions. I'll explain everything once I get what I need."
After immobilizing Kreacher, Jerry waved at Sirius Black and headed upstairs.
A moment later, he returned to the living room downstairs with the Horcrux locket he had found in the glass cabinet upstairs.
Sirius Black looked at the locket in Jerry's hand with a puzzled expression, clearly not recognizing it. Kreacher, on the other hand, saw the locket and his eyes filled with terror.
"This is Salazar Slytherin's locket, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes. My goal is to seal Voldemort's soul within the Horcrux to prevent his resurrection!"
Jerry explained to Sirius Black while taking out his Matryoshka Doll.
