Chapter 337: The Strongest Fairy Tail
Chapter 337: The Strongest Fairy Tail
Sol had been dealt a severe beating by Rod, and he remained unconscious, while Juvia was the first to regain consciousness.
Many glared at Juvia with anger.
The guild's current state was partly due to this woman's actions.
If it weren't for Rod and Mira's timely return, Lucy might have been captured.
Even so, no one vented their anger on the two helpless individuals.
The members of Fairy Tail were too kind, providing the bare minimum of treatment to ensure they didn't die from their injuries.
"Now that you're awake, you can ask her if she knows about Phantom's future plans," Rod suggested, distributing the medicine given to him by Poluxika and summoning Red and Blue to help restore everyone's conditions.
"How could she possibly reveal such information... Geez..." Gray scratched his head and turned to Juvia, "Hey, did you hear that?"
Juvia felt as if she had just had a nightmare. In her dream, she was being beaten by a terrifying woman, whose expression seemed to want to tear her apart.
But when she woke up, the pain in her body told her it wasn't just a dream.
In her daze, she heard someone shout something, and then...
So cool.
The man was covered in wounds, with bandages wrapped around his arms, waist, and legs.
He was shirtless, and his expression was impatient, but...
Juvia felt her heart race just by looking at him, and she couldn't bear to look away.
Gray noticed her gaze and glanced down at his own bandages, explaining, "I got these on Carna Island, not from those Phantom scum."
Gray was sensitive about this; these injuries were from his battles and mutual understanding with his senior, Lyon. He didn't want to be mistaken for being hurt by those weaklings.
So tough!
"Juuuviaaa!" Juvia let out her unique cry.
"Huh? Didn't catch that?" Gray repeated slowly, "I was asking about Phantom's plans."
So gentle!
"If... if it were you, Juvia..."
Juvia's face turned red, and she whispered that Joseph would directly attack Fairy Tail.
She didn't mind revealing this because the most crucial part of the plan had already been executed while she was unconscious.
Whether she and Sol had brought Lucy back or not, Joseph would find a way to eliminate Makarov, the only obstacle in his path, leaving no one to rival him.
Revealing the rest of the plan didn't matter.
Rod glanced at Juvia's expression and patted Gray's shoulder, "Impressive, using the 'handsome man' tactic so decisively."
Gray immediately refuted, "I didn't do that!"
"You're shirtless, and you say it's not a 'handsome man' tactic?"
"When did I do that?!"
This guy was only wearing a pair of shorts.
Natsu had an idea, "Happy, distract Gray, and I'll grab his shorts too."
"Aye!"
Lucy tugged at Natsu's scarf and Happy's tail, "Let's not do that right now."
After a brief moment of lightheartedness to ease the tension, they prepared for the upcoming fierce battle.
Rod spoke briefly with Mira and Erza, then clapped his hands to gather everyone's attention, "Alright, enough chatter. Let's have a strategy meeting!"
With Erza and Mira by his side, it seemed a bit odd for Rod to say this. But with the two S-Class Mages standing like bodyguards on either side of him, it was clear they had agreed beforehand.
Mira, of course, and even Erza had given Rod their full trust.
The two had worked together and argued, but as the Guild Master said, it was a process of mutual understanding.
For now, the crowd stopped their conversations to listen to what Rod had to say.
Rod began with a straightforward statement: "First of all, this war is inevitable, and we must win. Who is our enemy? It's the ruler of the Phantom, a guild as renowned as ours."
"The enemy has two goals. First, they aim to take away our comrade Lucy, and second, under the pretext of completing the mission, they intend to completely destroy our guild!"
"If we lose this battle, the Phantom will shift all the blame onto us, claiming that we interfered with their mission. At most, the Magic Council will reprimand the Phantom for their excessive actions, but they will also take the opportunity to disband our guild. At that point, we will lose everything!"
"So our objectives are clear. First, we must absolutely protect Lucy, and second, we must absolutely safeguard our guild. And then there's the third point we need to add..."
Rod's gaze swept across the faces of the crowd, some filled with anger, others serious, and some anxious.
"We must avenge our guild, which has been destroyed like this, and our guild master, who was ambushed. We must avenge the Road Engine Squad lying in the hospital, and all our injured comrades here! We will return all the pain they've endured!"
"Oh!!!"
The reason for fighting was of utmost importance to Fairy Tail.
Having personally experienced the power of 'heart', Rod firmly believed that this would become the source of everyone's strength at the critical moment.
Therefore, Rod clarified this point first, and it was even more important than any plan or strategy.
Only with unwavering faith would Fairy Tail become the strongest.
Elusa and Mira exchanged glances, a smile on their faces. This method of boosting morale was excellent.
The crowd quieted down, and Rod continued, "Next is the battle plan. Although the enemy has more people than us, we have the advantage in terms of military strength."
A contradictory statement, but coming from Rod, it was quite convincing.
"First, we must consider the Phantom's strongest weapon, which is their guild itself. Latis?"
"Alright." Latis presented a piece of paper, which at first glance looked like a giant spider, but upon closer inspection, it was a peculiar building.
—Hexapedal Walker.
Its main weapon was a magic cannon array, and a single hit was enough to completely destroy the guild.
Additionally, it was said to have an even stronger form and more powerful weapons, which would require Gray to work harder to uncover.
"Objective one: prevent Jupiter and more powerful weapons from activating. This requires us to utilize the strengths of some of our members."
Rod smiled, "That means causing destruction. Before it gets close, we'll completely destroy it!"
Laughter erupted from the crowd, and the very qualities that usually gave the guild master a headache were now considered strengths.
Especially the person who loved doing this the most was laughing the hardest.
"Ahahaha!" Natsu's mouth was filled with small flames, "I must get this mission!"
"Don't even think of monopolizing it, Natsu!"
"That's right, don't assume that only you are good at causing destruction!"
In the corner, Juvia stared blankly at this scene. Facing a battle they couldn't possibly win, yet they could still laugh. What kind of people were they? Were they completely unaware of the Phantom's power, or did they remain fearless despite knowing the odds? Were all the members of Fairy Tail this optimistic?
"Don't rush to claim the combat mission. The enemy won't just stand there and let us destroy them. This action will definitely face interference."
"So we need a more specific plan to respond to the enemy..."
Rod whispered something to Mira and pointed to Sol and Juvia in the corner.
Mira nodded and took Gray to another room, leaving the two of them behind.
When it came to more specific deployments, these two couldn't be present.
If Juvia was willing to provide more intelligence, that would be best. If not, Mira would let her have a good rest, and when she woke up would be up to her.
