Chapter 337: Revenge
High above, amidst the scorching hurricane, Kai Xiusu’s pupils flickered uncontrollably—now a clear,淡金色, now marred with jagged streaks of blood-red.
"Grrr… grrr…" The Red Dragon growled, its massive body writhing under a storm of crimson chaos flames that coiled like serpents across its scales, pulsing with a sickly, blood-light glow.
Within him, Kai Xiusu’s will clashed violently with the ancient, destructive instinct buried deep within his bloodline. He fought desperately in the abyss of sheer strength, wrestling not only against the overwhelming power but also against the insidious desires slumbering beneath his very soul.
"Kai Xiusu, stop!"
"Don’t let that strength take control! That’s not who you are!"
Olivia cried out, her voice trembling with panic. Ignoring all danger, the Silver Dragon flared her wings with every ounce of strength, cutting through the hurricane’s fury to reach the struggling Red Dragon—her slender silver frame bearing the scars of searing burns from the infernal winds.
"Stop… please…"
"Come on…"
Another blast of searing wind roared past, hurling her backward like a ragdoll. Olivia staggered, wings flared wide, teeth clenched so hard she could barely force the words from her throat.
Below, on the far side of a small hill, Duke Leo Bosk raised his head, his eyes locked onto the Red Dragon suspended in midair.
"Look… there’s your chance," the voice whispered in his mind, low and insidious. "That dragon is losing control. He won’t even notice you."
"You’ll become a hero of the Northern Regions. You’ll rise as the supreme leader of Anzeta."
Yes…
It was all the Red Dragon’s fault.
He had shattered Bosk’s authority, destroyed the army Leo had built with pride, slaughtered his children, and brought the centuries-old legacy of the Bosk family to the brink of collapse.
Kill him.
Kill the Red Dragon.
Then all would be his.
His family would rule the North forever—eternal as the sun and moon, forever suspended in the sky, never to fall.
Leo Bosk’s eyes burned with endless hatred, his face alight with the euphoria of imminent vengeance. His lips twitched, his beard trembling with fury.
"Tell me," he whispered, voice cracking. "Please… tell me—what must I do?"
The voice chuckled softly.
"Simple. Let hatred be your weapon."
"Good."
Leo clenched his teeth, forcing himself to remember every wound, every betrayal, every moment of rage. His eyes darkened, filled with a deeper, more consuming fury.
But he didn’t notice the cracks spreading across his own flesh—cracks that glowed with a sickly, abyssal yellow light.
Soon, black smoke coiled around his hands, twisting and condensing into a jagged, obsidian spear.
Revenge Spear.
A weapon forged from pure malice, extreme hatred, and raw abyssal energy.
"Perfect," the voice purred with delight. "Now imagine your enemy’s heart pierced. Then throw it."
"Go… die!"
With a roar of rage, Leo Bosk hurled the spear into the sky, his face twisted in a mad, grinning snarl.
"Shhh—!"
The abyssal current surged upward, the spear streaking toward the Red Dragon above.
But Olivia saw it.
"That’s… abyssal strength?"
"No!"
She stared at the black spear tearing through the air, then back at Kai Xiusu—still locked in his internal battle. Her heart shattered with dread.
She unleashed every abjuration spell she knew, but the spear was forged in chaos. Not even a fraction of her magic could stop it.
"I… cannot let him be consumed by that power!"
In a flash, the young Silver Dragon surged forward, spreading her wings wide—her body becoming a living shield, blocking the spear’s path directly in front of Kai Xiusu.
"AAAAAHHH!"
Olivia screamed as the black spear tore through her silver wing, the flesh shredding like paper. The weapon continued onward, piercing the sky.
And then she fell—limp, helpless—crashing down from the heavens, her wing mangled, the edges of the wound already being devoured by the creeping abyssal fog.
The scream finally snapped Kai Xiusu back to awareness.
His golden vertical pupils—once clouded with madness—cleared, regaining focus.
"This…?"
"Jezarslak?"
The Red Dragon turned, his expression hardening into grim seriousness. He recognized the mark instantly—this was the handiwork of that Revenant Demon, just like the one before with Koman.
Without hesitation, he unleashed a deep green anti-magic beam.
But this time, the spear contained only a trace of chaos energy—meant not to destroy, but to ignite Kai Xiusu’s desire for destruction, to push him fully into madness.
The magic wastage shattered the spear mid-flight, dissolving it into ash before it could strike.
"Disgusting human!"
"How dare you wield abyssal power?!"
Oszedro, barely conscious, staggered to his feet, roaring in fury and disbelief. As Guardian of World Balance and elder of the Melward Clan, he had fought the abyss for centuries. He knew this power—its stench, its corruption.
And yet… he could not believe that a noble from the remote Northern Regions had become a demon’s puppet.
"Grandfather!" Leonard cried, alongside several other Silver Dragons, dragging the wounded Oszedro. "This place is too dangerous! We must leave!"
"Your wounds are too severe to fight!"
With a desperate surge, they opened a gate to another realm, fleeing the battlefield—leaving behind the blood-soaked ruins of Anzeta’s Great Wasteland.
Kai Xiusu looked down at the earth, his face cold, expressionless.
"Is this your beloved Northern Alliance ally, old friend? A human tainted by the abyss?"
"And this is the order you spoke of? This is your ideal?"
Oszedro paused, looking up at him one last time.
"You win, Kai Xiusu."
"Let’s go."
Without another word, he transformed into his human form—broken, battered—and vanished through the portal, flanked by his surviving Silver Dragon kin.
The Red Dragon didn’t wait.
With a roar, he tore open the space before him, appearing instantly in front of Leo Bosk. His vast wings cast a shadow so deep it swallowed the man whole, towering over him like a storm given flesh.
Before such a colossal being, a human was nothing—small, fragile, insignificant.
Leo Bosk paled, trembling as he stared up at the Red Dragon’s monstrous form. His eyes burned with venomous hatred, despair creeping into his soul. His cracked face shook violently.
"No… no…"
"This wasn’t supposed to happen!"
"I was supposed to kill you… become the supreme leader of the North…"
Boom—!
Before he could finish, the air exploded. Flames erupted from every direction, engulfing him completely. The ground where he stood became a sea of fire, molten and endless.
Kai Xiusu exhaled, voice laced with cold disdain.
"Insolent human. Another fool blinded by the Revenant Demon."
"But… this isn’t over."
Suddenly, from within the raging flames, a blurred figure emerged—shifting, indistinct. A low, mocking laugh echoed through the inferno.
"Hello again, Kai Xiusu."
"Ah… the mighty Abyssal Lord of ten thousand years ago. The Revenant Demon imprisoned by the gods in the Stellar Realm… reduced to clinging to a mortal shell. How tragic."
Kai Xiusu stared at the shadowy form, every instinct screaming danger. Yet he couldn’t resist taunting.
"We’ll meet again, Kai Xiusu."
"No matter how hard you fight… you cannot escape your inevitable fate."
The flames crackled. The demon’s voice slithered through the heat like a serpent.
Then—lightning flashed.
The figure dissolved in a burst of static, vanishing.
Only a grotesque, burning silhouette remained—etched into the nearby rock wall like a curse.
