Chapter 336: Mid-Level Fighters
Chapter 336: Mid-Level Fighters
Around the collision site between the Song Queen and the Death Star, several ships were also connected, with pirates engaged in fierce battles on board.
Dong, dong, dong! Bellamy bounced back and forth between the two ships, his legs coiled like springs, gathering momentum before unleashing a powerful punch, his fist tightening like a coiled spring.
Boom! His punch blasted a hole in the deck and sent Charlotte Nozet reeling, barely dodging the brunt of the attack.
A bead of cold sweat trickled down his temple as he instinctively raised his scythe, shaped like the number '3', and slashed it towards the hole.
Just then, Bellamy's figure leaped out from the hole.
As the scythe was about to strike Bellamy, his body tensed, bracing for the attack.
"Spring Steel!"
Bang!
The scythe made contact but was repelled as if it had struck something highly elastic.
Bellamy twisted in mid-air, his hands bracing against the edge of the hole. The springs in his arms compressed and released, propelling him forward as he kicked Nozet in the chest, sending him flying.
Charlotte Nozet collided with the mast up ahead, finally coming to a stop. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his face contorting with a sinister scowl.
As one of the Thirty-Four Ministers, his combat prowess was undoubtedly formidable.
While he might not match the truly powerful fighters, he was far from helpless. He, too, had mastered both Observation and Armament Haki.
Yet, against Bellamy, he couldn't gain the upper hand, and as the battle dragged on, he found himself at a growing disadvantage.
"Well done, Bellamy! You truly live up to your reputation as a dashing and captivating pirate!"
As Bellamy straightened his posture, his legs coiling like springs once more, a hearty voice rang out from a nearby ship.
A black line appeared on his temple as he turned and shouted, "I've never claimed to be that kind of person!"
Not far from him, on another ship, stood a figure whose body had swollen to a height of about three meters. His face was covered in thick turtle-like skin, his limbs were stout, and he had developed shell-like shields on his chest and back. This creature was grinning foolishly at Bellamy, giving him a thumbs-up.
Clang! In front of him, a burly figure in full armor thrust a knight's lance from his arm, aiming for the shell-like shield. However, the attack only produced a crisp sound, leaving no mark.
"Why are you so defensively strong!" Charlotte Saint-Marc exclaimed in annoyance.
As one of the ministers himself, Saint-Marc possessed considerable strength, augmented by his large build and ironclad armor, which granted him exceptional defensive capabilities.
Yet, he had now encountered someone with even more formidable defenses.
No matter what kind of attack he employed, it seemed to have little effect.
This animal-type ability, reminiscent of a turtle, boasted formidable defensive power, but Saint-Marc had encountered similar abilities before.
There was a member of their pirate crew who had eaten the Turtle Fruit and gained an animal-type ability.
However, their defensive capabilities seemed to pale in comparison to this individual.
"Were you talking to me?" Paru's teeth glinted as he boasted, "I am Shield Man, the epitome of dashing and valiant. Even without my shield, my shell provides absolute defense! By the way, don't even think about launching a sneak attack because my back is even more durable than my front! Impressive, isn't it? I'm a true veteran!"
After consuming the ancient Crocodile Turtle, Paru had undergone a remarkable transformation.
The animal-type ability had granted him an exceptionally robust physique, and his innate shell shields offered top-tier defensive capabilities.
Whether it was blades, brute force, or even the attacks of Haki users, none could penetrate his defenses when he faced off against those reckless pirates.
The opponent he faced now was also quite formidable, but they, too, couldn't breach his defenses. As time passed, however, their attacks seemed to be weakening.
With a little more time, victory would be his!
Victory over one of Big Mom's Ministers!
Paru placed his hands on his hips and lifted his head proudly. "I, Paru, am also incredibly strong. Strongbaru, Bellamy, Miot, let's think of some new poses later!"
"I'm not doing that!" Bellamy shouted.
Bang!
On another ship, Jian Balou charged forward, his body packed with explosive force as he collided with a massive, corpulent figure. The impact sent his opponent flying, and Jian Balou called out in a deep voice, "I'll make this look good!"
His opponent was also one of the Ministers—Charlotte Cracker.
This opponent possessed tremendous strength, and the battle between him and Jian Balou was fierce and evenly matched.
However, as time passed, Jian Balou felt confident that he would emerge victorious.
He had changed since his days in the New Ohara, facing off against reckless pirates. With prolonged training, he had not only mastered several of the Six Styles but had also gained proficiency in Armament Haki.
And he was already strong to begin with; now, he was even stronger. Of course, he could battle against one of these so-called Ministers.
"Woof!"
On a pirate ship adjacent to Paru's, Miot leaped forward, his large sword clashing with the opponent's, who had pink and blue hair, and whose sword hilt resembled an ice cream cone.
When his initial strike missed, Miot let out a loud battle cry, gathering a white light of sonic energy in his mouth, which he unleashed on his foe, sending him flying.
That opponent was Charlotte Moscato, also one of the Thirty-Four Ministers.
"No!" Paru heard the voice and frowned. "I should be in the middle!"
"How did you understand him?" Bellamy asked.
Miot was mute!
"I figured it out over time," Paru replied, giving a thumbs-up. "I'm so handsome, so of course, I should be in the middle. Hey, Stansen, do you want to join us?"
Boom! On a distant ship, the nearly twenty-meter-tall Stansen, a giant among men, occupied almost the entire deck. With a swing of his iron hammer, he smashed half of a cake ship to pieces.
In a battle of this caliber, he had no equal; with each swing of his hammer, he could take down countless foes.
"Where should I stand?" Stansen asked after a moment's thought.
"At the back," Paru replied. "You're big enough that you won't be missed out on the exposure!"
"No objections here," Stansen said, raising his hammer once more and bringing it down on another cake ship.
"You actually have to think about such a stupid pose?" came a voice from above. "I plan to sneakily watch your practice sessions. They're sure to be very interesting, chattering."
In the air, Owl used Moonwalk to traverse the air, drifting through the sky before swiftly descending to Stansen's side. He unleashed a Finger Gun at a group of approaching pirates, instantly taking them down.
"Hahahaha! You have to let me know about that!"
On another ship, Jabra, transformed into a werewolf, tensed his body as he dodged incoming weapons, the sound of clanging filling the air. With a swift shift of his feet, he sent an entire group of foes flying with a single claw strike.
He was the only one who could move while in his iron-block state and a user of the Six Styles.
"And don't you think you're something special just because you ate an Ancient Zoan Devil Fruit! You, my friend, are full of yourself!" Jabra shouted in displeasure.
"Art, no matter what form it takes, is worthy of appreciation! Yo yo yi!"
Beside him, Hair-Roll performed a one-legged hop, his curly hair transforming into Finger Guns that pierced through a group of pirates.
Among the mid-level fighters, Moria attracted a large group, and the remaining pirates were no match for them.
They were slowly gaining the upper hand and could be considered to be in their element.
However, in contrast, the battles of the other senior officers were not going as well, and they were clearly struggling.
Boom!!
Just as they were engrossed in their battles, two figures collided with their respective main ships, creating a tremendous shockwave that rippled outward from the point of impact.
Under the force of this collision, the conjoined fleet separated, returning to a state of stalemate.
The sky above grew increasingly overcast.
