Chapter 335: Did You Take Care of All Those Dark Wizards Alone?
Chapter 335: Did You Take Care of All Those Dark Wizards Alone?
Dugdale had initially wanted to say that his home was quite safe and spacious enough. However, considering that Aisha's magic shop had been attacked, there was a risk that his residence might also have been exposed. Dugdale swallowed his words and said instead, "Temporary lodging? Of course, follow me!"
About ten minutes later, Dugdale led Ivan and the others to a large mansion on the northwest side. He knocked on the door, and a middle-aged wizard with a scruffy beard in his forties came out.
"Old friend! It's been a long time!" Dugdale immediately embraced him warmly and chatted for a bit.
After a few pleasantries, Dugdale took out a bag of Galleons from his wizard robe pocket and forcefully handed it to the man. The middle-aged wizard pretended to refuse but eventually took it, smiling and waving goodbye before quickly leaving.
Only then did Dugdale turn to Ivan and the others to explain, "That's a friend I met during a card game. He's been a bit short on money lately and is willing to let us use his house temporarily. Don't worry, he's quite discreet. Apart from being lazy and fond of drinking and gambling, he has no other vices. The money I gave him will keep him living comfortably for a while."
So, what kind of oddballs are these friends of yours?
Ivan shook his head with a peculiar look and followed Dugdale inside. The space was large but rather messy, with old photos hanging on the walls. The topmost photo showed an elderly witch who, upon seeing Ivan and the others enter the house, started berating her good-for-nothing grandson for renting out the ancestral home again.
However, no one paid her any attention. Dugdale casually waved his Wand, using the cleaning spell to tidy up the house and seal the photos to prevent them from interfering or eavesdropping on their conversation.
After finishing, Dugdale turned to Ivan and asked seriously, "Do you have a plan for what we should do next?"
Ivan nodded, "I've investigated the layout of Borgin and Burkes. It's roughly like this!"
As he spoke, Ivan drew his Wand and lightly stirred it on the table. Threads of magic connected to form a clear map, marking important locations and potential escape routes for a battle.
"How did you find out about these positions?"
Dugdale looked at Ivan with a mix of surprise and doubt, even suspecting that Ivan might have just drawn it randomly. The map included the layout of the top floor and the basement, all clearly marked!
Aisha was equally surprised. She had dealt with the owner of Borgin and Burkes for years but had no idea about the overall layout of the shop.
"I have my ways!" Ivan didn't elaborate further.
The magic map was based on his memory from when he searched the shop before the start of the school year. At that time, Borgin and Burkes was already empty, and no one could stop him from thoroughly investigating the Dark Magic Shop.
Dugdale and the others looked at Ivan's youthful face but couldn't bring themselves to question him. They all knew that Ivan was no ordinary young wizard, so the map's credibility was high.
Seeing that they accepted it, Ivan continued, "I'll use the Invisibility Cloak to sneak in and investigate the internal distribution of personnel. I'll act when the opportunity arises, trying to reduce their numbers. As for you, wait for my signal and then attack from these weak points to block all of Borgin's escape routes!"
"Wait, this is not acceptable! It's too risky!" Aisha couldn't help but interrupt Ivan's words.
If it weren't for Ivan knocking her out earlier, she wouldn't have let him go on such a dangerous mission alone, and now it was even more out of the question!
Fren and the others also nodded in agreement.
Dugdale tried even harder to persuade Ivan to abandon this dangerous plan.
While the Invisibility Cloak is difficult to make, it's not an extraordinary item. Its effects are similar to the Disillusionment Charm and can be detected by certain Counter Spells.
Wearing such a thing and trying to infiltrate a Dark Magic Shop would make it easy for the enemy to see through him.
"Don't worry! The Invisibility Cloak I have is quite special and hard to detect. If you don't believe me, you can try it out!" Ivan said with a hint of frustration.
He was taking this risk to recreate what he did at his own shop, creating an enhanced Thunderclap Explosion in a crowded place to send Brock and his minions to their doom, minimizing casualties in the subsequent battle.
The owner of the Leaky Cauldron had only told him that many Dark Wizards and some Werewolves died in that battle. These Dark Wizards could refer to Brock's subordinates or even everyone here, including Aisha!
Dugdale was half-convinced and half-skeptical. Once Ivan put on the Invisibility Cloak, he waved his Wand and used a Counter Spell.
Sure enough, the Counter Spell had no effect. Aisha also tried a few detection spells, but she couldn't find Ivan's position either.
It was as if he had vanished into thin air!
"What do you think?" After a while, Ivan lifted the Invisibility Cloak and reappeared in front of everyone.
Dugdale smiled bitterly, unable to say anything. This Invisibility Cloak was indeed special!
Aisha, curious, took the Invisibility Cloak from Ivan and examined it.
The entire cloak was seamless, feeling very smooth, as if woven from water.
The more she looked, the more amazed she became, but then she sighed in disappointment. She knew the level of this magical artifact was too high for her to understand, let alone decipher its secrets.
"Where did you get this from?" Aisha returned the Invisibility Cloak to Ivan and asked curiously.
"I borrowed it from a friend!" Ivan replied. To his surprise, Aisha didn't recognize it as a Deathly Hallow.
But that made sense; the Deathly Hallows were still a secret to wizards of their level. Only a few wizarding families had records of them.
"It seems you've made some very good friends at school", Aisha said with a sense of admiration.
Knowing the power of this Invisibility Cloak, Aisha was amazed that someone would be willing to lend such a powerful magical item to Ivan.
Then she looked at Hermione. Ivan certainly had a great eye for friends!
"Of course!" Ivan nodded solemnly, agreeing with her.
Then Ivan continued, "Now, are you all reassured?"
"That's still not acceptable!" Aisha refused to back down. She believed that even with the Invisibility Cloak, it was not Ivan's place to take such a risk. The mission could be carried out just as effectively by them.
"Mom, have you forgotten? I recently took down those Dark Wizards who attacked the shop on my own. Even if I'm discovered, they won't be able to do much to me for a while", Ivan said with a sigh.
Before Aisha could respond, Dugdale was shocked and exclaimed, "What? You took down those Dark Wizards all by yourself?"
