Chapter 333: Our Crystal - Lucy Hartfelicia
Chapter 333: Our Crystal - Lucy Hartfelicia
"I thought I was going to fall to my death."
Rod tightly hugged her, perhaps out of fear.
"And you still did something so reckless."
Mila didn't mind his little gesture, and she slowly descended with him.
"Because I can get angry occasionally too." Rod felt the ground beneath his feet and reluctantly let go of her, allowing her to stand.
The soft, fragrant sensation was unforgettable.
Mila also returned to her usual self, her clothes transforming back into the purple dress she wore when they arrived.
She didn't hear what that person had said, but if it made Rod angry, it must have been quite excessive. She'd ask Lucy about it after everything was settled.
The rain had stopped, but both their hair and clothes were drenched.
Mila pointed at the massive chimney Rod had created: "What should we do about this?"
"Give me a few minutes to recover my magic power, and I'll put it back. As for the shop's losses... I'll have to compensate for them."
Rod thought he'd have to front the money first and then get it back from Phantom later.
After all, the building itself wasn't worth much; a few hundred thousand would be enough to cover the damages. He hoped there weren't any valuable goods damaged inside the shop.
Rod looked at Sol, who had landed before him, deep in thought: Is this person really S-Class?
When analyzing combat power, he always used their S-Class members as the standard. That's why he didn't dare to stop when there was an opportunity to attack.
After all, he had already traveled a long distance and raided for half a day and a night; how could he dare to be careless?
But this person seemed a bit far off from their S-Class Archmages? It felt like if he didn't take action, Mila could take on two of them.
Now that he thought about it, it seemed unnecessary to use so many moves earlier? Although it was quite exhilarating.
Lucy ran over, circling the towering chimney: "Miss Mila, Mr. Rod! Are you both okay?"
Mila said: "We're fine. Lucy, are you injured?"
"I'm fine." Lucy covered her buttocks, "It's just that the tree monster suddenly disappeared, and I fell."
The image was easy to imagine.
Rod raised one hand: "Sorry, my magic power couldn't hold up just now."
"It's okay, it's okay. I heard from Elusa that you rushed back overnight, and..."
Lucy bit her lip, her face showing a guilty expression, "The one who should apologize is me. This time, I might have caused trouble for everyone."
Mila released Rod and gently patted Lucy's back. Her clothes were even more soaked: "It's not your fault that Phantom provoked us."
"No, it's because of me that the guild was destroyed and Levy's team was attacked." Lucy hung her head, and droplets of water trickled down the strands of hair on her forehead, "Actually, my full name is Lucy Hartfelicia..."
"Hartfelicia..." Rod had heard of this surname. It represented the Phore Kingdom's top-notch financial group, almost to the point of being a wealthy nation.
No wonder Lucy didn't mention her surname during registration... A rich young lady running away from home, and then her father sending people to capture her? With this thought, Lucy might be the richest person in the country, second only to the princess. Now, all she lacked was a poor boy whom she loved dearly.
Rod wasn't tempted at all. He was content with having the most beautiful ordinary rich girl.
Mila was also shocked: "Is this the Hartfelicia of the Hartfelicia Financial Group?"
"Yes." Lucy nodded with difficulty.
From what Juvia and Sol had said, Lucy already knew that it was likely her father who had commissioned Phantom to bring her back.
But she didn't know why Phantom had first destroyed the guild and then injured Levy's team.
Perhaps it was to 'reasonably' vent their anger under the guise of a mission, or perhaps it was to lure them away.
In any case, Lucy had concluded that she had burdened the guild and Levy's team.
"It's all my fault. If I hadn't... If I hadn't joined the guild..." Lucy tightly clutched the clothes on her chest as she said this.
She felt her heart aching; it was a place much warmer than her own home, yet she had destroyed it.
"It's not like that, Lucy." Mila embraced Lucy.
"When Phantom decided to attack our guild, it ceased to be just your problem."
Mila held Lucy's right hand and caressed the pink stamp on the back of her hand, "Or perhaps I should say, when you stamped the guild emblem, it ceased to be just your problem.
"Miss Mira?" Lucy's tears welled up in her eyes.
Mira looked into her eyes, "A person's tears are everyone's tears. That's what the Guild Master always says. So, lean on us without hesitation. Remember, we are Fairy Tail."
"Miss Mira! Waaah..." Lucy buried her face in Mira's embrace, sobbing.
Mira gently patted Lucy's back.
The effect of the previous Insight Crown wore off, and Rod regained a significant amount of his magic power. He summoned a golem and cast another crown for himself and Mira.
Then, he placed his hands on the large chimney, transforming them into dragon claws. The towering chimney gradually lowered, merging back into the ground.
Rod restored the ground to its original state as much as possible and then wrote a few notes, leaving them in the damaged shops to discuss compensation later.
After completing all this, Lucy's emotions calmed down a bit.
Rod suggested, "Let's go take a shower and change into some dry clothes first."
Lucy's magic was currently weak, and wearing wet clothes for too long could make her sick.
Moreover, she had become their crystal now, and the Ghost could send someone else to steal it again. It wouldn't be wise for him and Mira to leave her unattended.
The decoy strategy couldn't be used a second time.
However, the safest place would still be by everyone's side. Rod decided to wait until he and Mira regained some energy and composure before taking Lucy to Og City to meet up with the others.
This was Rod's first time in Lucy's home. The living room was neatly organized, with a pink comforter spread out tidily, looking very comfortable.
On the dressing table were various bottles and jars, and upon closer inspection, some of them were from the same brand that Mira used.
Additionally, she had a dedicated desk with several recent magazines and half-written papers on it.
The bookshelf held numerous books, a significant portion of which were well-known novels.
In addition, Rod noticed a pink dumbbell in the corner of the room, and nearby, there were several scratch marks on the wallpaper, as if made by a cat.
"Lucy works out too?" Rod gained a bit of peculiar insight about the new member, "She seems to be a very hard-working person."
No one answered him; Mira and Lucy were in the bathroom taking a shower, and the room only had him and the two captives.
Sol was unrecognizable, having gained a lot of weight, with countless fractures all over his body. Judging from the blood in his mouth, his internal injuries didn't seem light either.
Juvia also appeared to have been badly beaten by Mira, with bruises and a swollen face, not to mention her torn and tattered clothes.
Mira explained that she had been using dark magic to counter Juvia's water-based body and might have been a bit too harsh.
These injuries wouldn't heal quickly, but Rod still tied them up securely with ropes, regretting the lack of magic seal stones.
Rod himself was also soaked, so he could only sit in a chair and wait. If it had been Natsu, he would have probably just lain down on the bed.
Mira's voice came from the bathroom, "Rod, I forgot to bring clothes. Can you bring some in for me?"
Then, Lucy's exclamation followed, "No way!"
Mira continued, "Then should we go out naked to change?"
Lucy immediately rejected the idea, "That's even worse!"
"I think it's fine. Lucy, you're too picky."
"No, I'm not!" Lucy shouted, "You're his girlfriend, so of course you think it's fine!"
"Does that mean Lucy wants to become Rod's girlfriend too?"
"No, nothing like that!"
Rod laughed outside, seeming like Mira had given Lucy a good talk.
As for the last sentence, he took it as a joke.
If Lucy had agreed, she might have ended up dead on the street the next day.
If Rod was lucky, he might keep his life and forever accompany Mira in formaldehyde.
(Lucy's pink dumbbell was a gift from Natsu on the day they stole the S-Class Mission. That day, Natsu and Happy worked out at Lucy's house and even tried to get Lucy to join them.)
Additionally, in the Fairy Tail universe, as mentioned many times before, life is valued heavily, so don't think about killing all the time.
The Tenrou Island arc clearly stated, "Fairy Tail's mages, even after defeating their enemies, would not take their lives lightly."
