Chapter 330: Harry's Nightmare
Chapter 330: Harry's Nightmare
“He was saved, and now I have no one else to turn to. Not only that, but he said so much.”
Harry felt a searing pain in his forehead, but he forced himself to look around the dimly lit room.
He could barely make out a trembling figure kneeling on the ground, a person who seemed terrified, shaking like a leaf, as if wanting to beg for mercy but too afraid to do so.
“At least the Minister of the Ministry of Magic is a fool, but now you’ve given me another surprise, Wormtail. What a pleasant surprise.”
When “himself” spoke, Harry finally noticed the person kneeling on the ground—it was Peter Pettigrew, who had escaped last semester!
Peter, overcome with fear, sobbed and choked out his words.
“I didn’t want to, I didn’t want to become like this, my Lord, but I had no choice. Remus, that bastard, he bit me.”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier! If no one had discovered you, what were you planning to do! You kept delaying until I needed you, and then you remained silent, using that filthy blood to harm me!”
“No! No, my Lord, I just wasn’t ready. I am your most loyal servant. I would never harm you or hide anything from you. I just wasn’t ready yet…”
Peter’s sobs echoed through the dark room.
“Himself” fell silent, making Harry feel uneasy, as if “he” had noticed something wrong.
But Harry was overthinking it. The silence only lasted for half a minute before “himself” spoke again.
“You should be grateful that you have earned some credit with me, or I would have made you Nagini’s food today! Now, two potential candidates are gone… We absolutely cannot afford any more mistakes with Harry!”
Peter seemed relieved, collapsing to the ground as if he had no bones left. Even then, he didn’t forget to flatter “himself.”
“My Lord, your plan is flawless! There will be no problems. As for a servant who devotes their entire being to you, they are not hard to find, like…”
When Harry heard this, he felt a sudden dizziness, and the pain in his forehead intensified. The next second, he found himself back in Divination class.
The intense pain made Harry roll off his chair, and everyone in the classroom noticed his strange behavior.
“Are you okay?” Ron asked.
“He’s obviously not!” Sybill Trelawney exclaimed, her eyes fixed on Harry as she approached him menacingly. “What happened, Potter? A premonition? A vision? What did you see?”
“Nothing,” Harry lied, sitting up and feeling himself tremble.
He couldn’t help but look around, peering into the shadows behind him, where Voldemort’s voice seemed to be right next to his ear.
“You were clutching your scar!” Sybill Trelawney said. “You were rolling on the floor, clutching your scar! Come now, Potter, I have experience with these things!”
Harry looked up at her.
“I think I need to go to the hospital wing,” he said. “My head is pounding.”
“Dear, you are clearly affected by the unique visual vibrations in my classroom!” Sybill Trelawney said. “If you leave now, you might miss something you’ve never seen before—”
“I just want to find a way to treat my headache,” Harry said.
He stood up, and the rest of the class backed away, their faces filled with unease.
Harry knew exactly what he needed to do. This wasn’t the first time he had experienced such a nightmare.
“See you later,” he said to Ron.
Ignoring Sybill Trelawney's attempts to detain him, Harry ran out of the Divination classroom. However, instead of heading to the hospital wing as he had claimed, he ran straight toward the Headmaster's Office.
Although he didn't understand the meaning of the conversation between Voldemort and Peter in his nightmare, he knew it was right to tell Dumbledore everything he had seen.
However, the stone gargoyle that guarded the Headmaster's Office blocked his path. Unlike Sherlock, Harry didn't have the privilege to enter the Headmaster's Office without a password.
In a panic, he randomly tried a few of Dumbledore's usual candy passwords, and to his surprise, one of them actually worked.
"Cockroach Clusters? I just guessed."
Muttering to himself, he stepped over the stone gargoyle as it jumped aside, and made his way up to the Headmaster's Office.
The door to the Headmaster's Office was open, but the room was empty. The only thing in the room was a simple stone basin on Dumbledore's desk, containing some silvery threads that moved slowly like fish in the water.
Harry couldn't help but be drawn to the silvery threads in the basin. He lowered his head, and suddenly a strong suction force emanated from the basin, pulling him entirely into it!
Just as Harry's Divination class had begun, Sherlock, Dumbledore, and Mad-Eye Moody stood in front of the Pensieve.
"There are some things our memories have indeed blurred, but the Pensieve can help us recall details we might have overlooked."
Dumbledore twirled his wand, gently extracting a bright silver thread of memory from his temple and placing it into the basin.
"Alright, now we can do a final review before we begin our plan. We'll use this past event to check for any oversights."
Sherlock and Mad-Eye Moody nodded solemnly, and the three of them, one by one, entered the memory within the Pensieve.
The world seemed to flip upside down.
Sherlock, Dumbledore, and Mad-Eye Moody found themselves in a hall that was entirely different from the Headmaster's Office.
This hall was familiar to all of them—it was a courtroom in the Ministry of Magic, filled with red-robed wizards, all members of the Wizengamot.
Among the roughly two to three hundred wizards, Sherlock spotted Dumbledore and Mad-Eye Moody from over a decade ago.
Back then, Mad-Eye Moody still had both of his eyes, and his leg was still intact.
Sitting on the iron chair at the judge's bench was a familiar figure.
Igor Karkaroff.
"You have been brought out of Azkaban to testify before the Ministry of Magic. You claim to have important information to share with us."
A voice abruptly rang out, and Sherlock looked toward its source. It was Barty Crouch Sr., who still had fewer wrinkles on his face and was serving as the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
