Chapter 33: Tenseigan
Chapter 33: Tenseigan
Whether due to untapped potential or insufficient chakra, Izayoi's first Awakening lasted far longer than expected—not days, but a full two weeks. During that time, he lived in darkness, his vision reduced to nothingness like a blind man's world. While anyone else might have felt suffocated by despair, Izayoi found himself uncharacteristically content.
Hinata’s care transformed confinement into comfort. True to her Yamato Nadeshiko nature, she became a model of domestic devotion. She prepared meals from scratch or brought home-cooked dishes, attended to his hygiene with patient diligence, and even gave him daily massages. When her team had missions, she doubled her efforts to cover his absence. When free, she either sent a Shadow Clone to keep him company or came in person, ensuring he never felt lonely.
For Izayoi, these days were a rare respite—no responsibilities, no struggles. Just surrendering to Hinata’s nurturing. For her, it was equally fulfilling. After years of being protected, finally caring for Izayoi brought her quiet joy, even manifesting in dreams of his approving smiles.
Thankfully, Hiashi never witnessed these scenes. He’d have clenched his fists at the sight of his daughter’s... unconventional devotion.
But all good things end. After fourteen days of chakra production and strange internal sensations, calm returned. The Power of the All-Encompassing Nature had awakened.
That morning, Hinata dimmed the lights, closed the curtains, and gently unwrapped Izayoi’s eye bandages. “Izayoi-kun, is your kekkei genkai another dōjutsu?”
He nodded.
“Did you awaken the Rinnegan? Or even the Shōgan that surpasses the Byakugan?” she pressed, curiosity sparkling in her voice.
‘What about the Ketsuryōgan?’ Izayoi silently countered but merely shrugged. “I’ll know when I see it. This kekkei genkai appeared suddenly—like my brain started secreting chakra on its own.”
Hinata’s hands stilled as she removed the final bandage. When Izayoi opened his eyes, she gasped. “So beautiful…”
In the shadowed room, his gaze glowed like twin pearls of light—pale blue irises with swirling white pupils, encircled by delicate floral patterns of luminescence.
This was no ordinary kekkei genkai. Not the Rinnegan, Byakugan, or Shōgan. Nor the Ketsuryōgan of the Blood Pool Clan. This was the Tenseigan—a celestial power rivaling the great dōjutsu, capable of both creation and destruction.
The room trembled as Izayoi’s vision expanded—past walls, streets, forests, and cities, enveloping the entire Fire Country. His previous kekkei genkai offered eighty kilometers of sight, but the Tenseigan dwarfed that. Where the Byakugan was a king among soldiers, this was a god among mortals. If this was merely the first Awakening’s limit, what would the second reveal?
Returning his focus, Izayoi’s gaze lingered on Hinata’s partially unzipped jacket. The Tenseigan’s x-ray vision had activated, but instead of peering beneath clothes, it revealed chakra pathways and organs in vivid color. “Useless,” he muttered, though a glance toward the moon—where another Tenseigan slumbered—restored his satisfaction.
“Izayoi-kun?” Hinata tilted her head. “Testing your new powers?”
“Something like that,” he smiled. “It’s not the Rinnegan or Shōgan. This is something entirely new… or perhaps long forgotten.”
“Like what?”
“Like this—gravity.” He raised his hand.
Suddenly, Hinata floated upward, weightless. But Izayoi miscalculated—his proximity and the force sent her crashing into him, toppling both to the floor.
“Ow!” Izayoi winced as Hinata hovered unharmed above him.
“Are you alright?” she asked, concern etched on her face.
“Just overdid it,” he chuckled, helping her up.
Hinata blinked. “Was that Fūton?”
“No—gravity manipulation. And its opposite.” He gestured toward a distant vase. The object slammed against the wall, shattering. Shards hovered midair before flying neatly into the trash can.
“Amazing…” Hinata breathed.
The Tenseigan granted two foundational abilities—enhanced vision and x-ray sight—but its true power lay in gravity control and wireless puppetry. By channeling chakra into constructs, he could animate them to fight autonomously, even unleashing light-based projectiles. Yin-Yang Release would perfect this, allowing him to create energy conduits remotely, but for now, raw power sufficed.
Izayoi summoned his status screen:
[Owner: Izayoi]
[Traits: Tenseigan (Red), Otsutsuki Bloodline (Crimson), Sage’s Eye (Red), Byakugan Prince (Red), Six Paths Potential (Red), Chakra Control (Gold), Swirl Bloodline (Purple)「+」, All Chakra Natures (Violet)「+」, Medical Prodigy (Blue)「+」]
[Points: 12,391]
The Tenseigan’s entry now dominated in red, surpassing even the Otsutsuki bloodline. “The ultimate dōjutsu,” he mused, “truly a power beyond red.”
