Chapter 33: Mission Accomplished
Chapter 33: Mission Accomplished
In a corner of the Hufflepuff Common Room, Cedric stared in shock at the enthusiastic new students not far away.
He couldn't understand what was wrong with this year's freshmen. How could they not realize that Kyle was making things up? Yet, they were so cooperative.
This was Hufflepuff, not Ravenclaw.
Cedric didn't know what others were thinking, but if he were to end up in the Hospital Wing, he would never want any class notes or homework.
Especially homework.
Goodness, treating homework as a gift... Could a normal wizard even come up with this? Even Voldemort wouldn't do something so despicable.
Cedric's conscience told him that he should expose Kyle and save the innocent Michael.
But he couldn't do it.
Because, to some extent, Kyle's words would make the little badgers of Hufflepuff more focused during class.
This was undoubtedly a good thing.
Cedric struggled for a long time,
in the past twelve years, he had never faced such a difficult choice. On one hand was his conscience, and on the other was his responsibility as a senior student, he didn't want to give up either, and could only jump back and forth between the two.
Not far from Cedric, was the equally perplexed Conna, the only freshman who could still remain clear-headed.
Conna's thoughts were much simpler than Cedric's.
No matter what, she had to stay away from Kyle! Conna silently vowed to herself that once she got the specially made Rat Elixir, she would stay far away from Kyle, even if she couldn't transfer to another House, she would try to avoid any possible encounters.
Oh, and during class, she would choose the seat farthest from Kyle.
On the other side, the mission-driven little badgers were still discussing their specific plans, while Kyle, having accomplished his mission, quietly slipped away from the crowd.
Now that everyone's attention was on what he was about to do next, this tool-man naturally wouldn't attract as much attention as before.
Kyle found a sofa away from the crowd and sat down, flipping through the book "Odes in the Wind."
This book, published fifty years ago, told the story of a bard's travels and the various troubles he encountered.
It was very similar to Lockhart's work, but the difference was that this book used very little space to describe the bard himself, and the focus was mostly on the things he saw.
It recorded many region-specific spells, all of which gave Kyle a refreshing feeling.
He read until noon, when Cedric came to call him for lunch, and only then did Kyle reluctantly close the book.
"What are you reading?" Cedric asked curiously. "I just called you, but you didn't respond."
"Odes in the Wind," Kyle handed the book to Cedric and said, "Dumbledore's recommendation, a very interesting biography."
"The Headmaster's recommendation?"
Cedric's eyes lit up, and he immediately expressed his desire to read it.
"That's no problem, but I just started reading it. You'll have to wait a few days." Kyle thought for a moment and said, "Or you can ask the library if they have an extra copy."
"No need." Cedric returned the book to Kyle and shook his head. "Just let me know when you're done, and I'll borrow it then."
With his knowledge of the school library, he knew that there were rarely two copies of the same biography, so going there would be a wasted trip.
Moreover, he was merely curious and didn't need to see it immediately. It didn't matter if it was a few days earlier or later.
After leaving the Hufflepuff Common Room, the two quickly arrived at the Great Hall.
By now, the news of a Hufflepuff wizard blowing up the Spellcraft classroom had spread throughout Hogwarts.
Inside the Great Hall, almost all the young wizards were eagerly discussing the topic.
"Hey, look who's here!"
As Kyle entered the Great Hall, Fred and George, who had been waiting there early, blocked his way.
"I knew it. Hogwarts would never be peaceful with you around, just as I expected," Fred said, hooking Kyle's shoulder. "Come on, tell us how you blew up the classroom."
George added from the side, "Yeah, we heard that even Professor Flitwick left the classroom with a limp."
"Blowing up the professor on the first day of class..." Fred and George looked at each other and said in unison, "Kyle, you'll definitely go down in Hogwarts history!"
The twins' voices were loud enough to quickly attract the attention of other young wizards, and more and more people started to gather around them intentionally or unintentionally.
Kyle was speechless. He said helplessly, "First of all, the Light Spell can't blow up a classroom. That's common sense. Professor Flitwick only hurt his leg because he tripped."

"Secondly, the young wizard who caused all this is currently in the Hospital Wing, and I have nothing to do with it. If you continue to slander me, I'll write a letter to Mrs. Weasley."
"It wasn't you?"
The twins were stunned. Obviously, this outcome was not what they had expected.
"Of course not. Why would you think that?" Kyle pointed to his side and said, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Cedric."
"I testify that it wasn't Kyle," Cedric immediately nodded.
"Did you hear that?" Kyle pushed the two aside and said, "By the way, where did you get this unreliable information?"
"We heard it from a Ravenclaw first-year," Fred shrugged. "They said you sent your classmate to the Hospital Wing."
Kyle was even more speechless after hearing this. He immediately said, "I was just helping out, and Professor Dumbledore even gave me an extra twenty points. By the way, did they say anything else? It can't be just that one sentence, right?"
"I don't know," George spread his hands and said matter-of-factly, "We heard it as we passed by."
"I..."
Kyle took a deep breath. He no longer wanted to talk to these two.
He had originally thought that Ravenclaw had a talented person who took things out of context, but he never expected that the real talent was Fred and George.
When you were inquiring about the news, you should at least listen to the whole story. You only heard the ending, and it's such an ambiguous ending.
Fortunately, they came straight to him and didn't spread it around. Otherwise, the good reputation he had built up would have been completely ruined.
Kyle sighed, patted the two on the shoulders, and said, "You two are truly wasted at Hogwarts. You should go work for the Prophet Daily directly. Rita Skeeter would love you."
