The two daggers Liam threw plunged straight into the shield in front of Voldemort and exploded simultaneously.
"Crack, crack, crack." With the scattering black mist and white light, the black shield of the Omen of Misfortune began to crack, accompanied by a sound like shattering glass.
"Snap." The shield finally reached its limit, shattering into countless fragments and vanishing into nothingness. Voldemort, standing behind the shield, seemed to be severely injured, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he staggered back three or four steps.
"You cannot be a wizard. What are you?" Voldemort's snake-like eyes fixed on the girl in the forest. The scene was supposed to be intimidating, but a gust of wind made Voldemort, wearing only a robe, look extremely awkward.
"Whatever you are, you will die here today." Seeing the disgust and revulsion in Liam's eyes, Voldemort grew even more furious. As he raised his wand, his tone suddenly turned panicked.
"No, no, this shouldn't be happening." Voldemort's eyes widened as he stared at his open palm. Liam, who had been using Eagle Vision, could clearly see that his pale, bloodless hand was covered in cracks like a spider web. As he lifted his arm, the cracks had spread to his forearm and were slowly but surely spreading to other parts of his body.
"This wasn't in the original story?" Liam found Voldemort's condition strange, but he wouldn't let such a good opportunity slip. He quickly cast a few spells at Voldemort, but without his casting tools, their power was significantly reduced, and Voldemort easily deflected them. However, the changes in his body made Voldemort's counterattacks weak and ineffective, allowing Liam to easily dodge them.
"I will return after I deal with this problem." With a final threat, Voldemort Apparated away. Before leaving, he glared at Liam with his snake-like eyes, as if trying to memorize his face.
"Did he just run away?" Liam looked bewildered at the spot where Voldemort had disappeared. He had expected such a major boss to fight to the end. But then, Voldemort, being a cunning leader, was not the type to act rashly. His actions during the Hufflepuff Cup incident had shown that he was capable of both yielding and fighting. Therefore, it was understandable for Voldemort to flee when faced with an unknown physical issue.
With Voldemort gone, Liam also prepared to leave. As he walked deeper into the forest, a person suddenly jumped out from behind a rock.
Liam almost cast a Shadow Blade, but he quickly recognized it was Harry. Harry was indeed a typical Gryffindor, daring enough to hide so close to the battlefield.
"What are you doing?" Liam held up his Valyrian Steel Axe to Harry. After using up the two daggers, this axe was the only weapon that suited his current body. Swords and knives were too long and heavy for him.
"I—thank you for saving me. Can you tell me your name?" Harry asked nervously. Liam's axe, held at chest height, made Harry's voice tremble even more.
"Mormont, you can call me Lyanna Mormont." Liam gave the name of the face he wore, knowing that a vassal should take the blame for their lord. "I'm in a hurry to clear out a Vampire Castle. You should wait here for rescue. There's a fireplace leading to the Vampire Castle behind the hill in front of you. I suggest you only go in after help arrives."
With that, Liam left Harry and hurriedly left the forest. He knew it wouldn't be long before Harry received support, and he needed to quickly clean up any traces and wrap up the matter.
Rushing back to the Castle of the Cepesh Family, Liam found that the small puppets had already cleaned the entire castle thoroughly. They had even packed away the broken furniture and chandeliers, and the hardwood floors had been pried up, with rough clay jars placed in many spots.
"Altogether, nineteen Chambers of Secrets have been completely cleared out, and everything inside has been sent to the Warehouse in that world. We’ve taken everything worth taking from this castle", Rose Crystal said to Liam with a proud expression. These puppets, who mastered Magic and Alchemy, indeed showed a talent for collecting loot.
Descending to the castle’s grand hall, the once magnificent hall was now a mess: the mahogany headboard had been pried away, the iron racks and the sculptures they held, along with the plants, had all been packed and taken away. Even the once-golden murals on the walls were now patchy, as the little puppets had removed all the gold powder used in them. Liam saw Crimson holding a large jar, almost as big as she was, filled to the brim with gold powder.
"This is the last batch of items, and the words you asked us to carve are done in the basement storage room. The documents are all stuffed into the big iron chest and thrown in; they will definitely be seen by those who come later", Crimson explained to Liam, who was staring at her, as Rose Crystal opened the Portal.
The bodies of the slain Vampires and Blood Puppets were piled in the center of the hall. Those in good condition had already been collected for future research and experimentation. Liam could see several jars of Wildfire placed beneath the pile, ready for the final act.
Liam thought for a moment, then gathered the remains equivalent to two Blood Puppets and one Vampire, placing them in large black bags and storing them in his dimensional pocket. He then signaled the puppets to retreat.
The little puppets, each with a smile, jumped into the Portal one by one. The other side of the Portal led to the basement beneath the Rose Crystal Temple in the World of Ice and Fire. Liam had promised these helpful little puppets that they could take any loot they wanted.
Climbing the stairs, Liam took one last look at the hall, now in complete disarray, before turning to the fireplace on the second floor and returning to the place where he had been bound. Just as he left, a Clay Jar in the hall, marked with a Magic Array, burst into flames, igniting the Wildfire. Green flames quickly consumed everything in the castle, and with an explosion, half of the castle tower flew into the sky.
Leaving aside the chaos at the Cepesh Family Castle, Liam returned to the underground cell and immediately set up seals on the fireplace. Turning around, he discovered that the captured Vampire was already dead, with a large hole in its neck. Hermione, looking pale, was sitting against the wall on the other side of the room.
"This is—” Liam began, but Little Qing quickly explained what had happened. When Liam took action, Little Qing had received the message and was about to finish off the Vampire when Hermione suddenly suggested she do it herself.
Clearly, the large hole in the Vampire’s neck was Hermione’s work. The wound showed the skill of someone who had stabbed it at least a dozen times to achieve the desired result. The Vampire did not die peacefully. But thinking of the Muggles who had been brutally killed by this Vampire, this could be considered a fitting retribution.
"Can you tell me why you did this?" Liam asked, opening the Spatial Bag at his waist and taking out a thermos to pour Hermione a cup of hot tea. In Liam’s memory, Hermione was supposed to be kind, and he found it hard to associate her with the act of stabbing a Vampire in the throat with a dagger multiple times.
"Next time we face danger, I don’t want you to be alone—" Hermione said weakly after taking a few sips of tea.
"Thank you—" Liam had many things he wanted to say, but in the end, it all came down to a somewhat pale "thank you." But he swore to himself that he would never forget what had happened today.
