Chapter 324: This Place is Too Creepy!
Chapter 324: This Place is Too Creepy!
A few moments later, several Death Eaters came down the stairs, carrying the bodies of their fallen comrades on their shoulders. One of the Death Eaters was in tattered robes, limping as he descended the stairs, casting a venomous glance at Adan. He was clearly unhappy about being used as bait but lacked the courage to retaliate.
Adan’s face was so dark it could have dripped water. Since entering this Dark Magic Shop, they had lost four men in just a few minutes, and one of them was injured.
What irked him the most was that he hadn’t even seen the attacker’s shadow. Their only achievement was destroying a powerful Guardian on the upper floor.
"Better not let me catch you!" Adan growled viciously, plotting how he would torture the enemy.
Earlier, Adan had already figured out that Ralph and the others had fallen into a trap, which led to their gruesome deaths at the hands of kitchen utensils.
He had warned these fools not to touch anything!
Adan cursed internally but knew that Ralph usually had some sense. This time, falling into the trap wasn’t just due to carelessness.
The strange Guardian’s power had been experienced firsthand by Adan. Being caught off guard was understandable.
Fortunately, he had destroyed that thing. Using such a powerful spell must have drained a lot of magical energy, so the opponent might not be able to cast it again.
"Brand, Senfu, hurry up and come help!" Adan shouted, dragging a corpse down the stairs.
The first floor was eerily quiet, with no response.
Adan’s expression changed, a sense of unease creeping into his mind. He quickly led the group to the front counter and found Brand and Senfu lying unconscious nearby.
They had no visible injuries, suggesting that they had been taken down effortlessly during the few minutes it took to go upstairs and come back down.
The Death Eaters couldn’t help but gasp in shock, feeling a chill run down their spines. They looked around nervously, convinced that something would jump out from the dimly lit space and tear them apart.
Two Death Eaters vented their frustration by waving their Wands, sending spells flying through the air, shattering shelves, counters, and glass cases.
Adan also waved his Wand, casting a Counter spell. The magical energy ripple swept the area but found nothing. The Dark Magic Shop remained empty.
"Adan! This place is too creepy. We should leave!" one of them said, unable to contain his fear.
Adan’s face turned ashen. He had a growing feeling that coming here was a mistake.
"Take Brand and Senfu, let’s go!" Adan forced the words out, deciding to abort the mission. He was worried that if they stayed any longer, they would all be killed.
Just as Adan spoke, a strong sense of danger enveloped them, like being locked onto by a lethal snake.
From a nearby empty space, a slightly immature voice rang out.
"Thunderclap Explosion!"
The intense fire illuminated the dark Dark Magic Shop, and the flames quickly expanded into a massive orange fireball, sweeping towards the grouped Death Eaters.
Adan’s pupils contracted, his hair standing on end. He managed to wave his Wand and conjure a grayish-black shield just in time.
The other Death Eaters who could still move also cast spells desperately.
A series of magical barriers blocked the fireball’s path but were instantly shattered.
The massive fireball crashed into the sturdy shield, meeting some resistance before rapidly expanding and exploding.
A loud boom echoed through the enclosed magic shop.
Flames shot up, and nearby shelves and counters were thrown into the air by the powerful shockwave. Glass cases cracked, and a hole was blasted through one of the walls.
In the glow of the flames, Ivan’s figure appeared, his robes billowing in the strong wind. The hood of his Invisibility Cloak had been blown off.
"I should have known. Aisha couldn’t have cast such a powerful Thunderclap Explosion", Ivan muttered, looking at the hole in the wall.
This was the result of using Enhanced Runic Inscription. The power was significantly greater than when he had used it to intimidate the Werewolves, thanks to his improved strength.
He chose Thunderclap Explosion over the more covert Sectumsempra because the latter was better suited for single-target attacks. Even with enhancements, it wouldn’t be enough to eliminate everyone at once.
He had only one chance to ambush them.
Ivan surveyed the scene, seeing broken stones and mutilated corpses scattered everywhere. A few Death Eaters who were still alive writhed in pain, their blood gradually staining the gray floor.
"Reducio!" Ivan called out, putting them out of their misery one by one.
"Is one of them missing?" Ivan counted the bodies, feeling puzzled when a red light shot out from the debris.
Ivan remained vigilant, instantly activating the protective ring on his right hand. A magical barrier floated around him, neutralizing the spell.
"Adan? You’re still alive?" Ivan turned to look, seeing a figure emerging from the rubble.
"Cough, cough, cough", Adan clutched his chest, coughing up blood. He looked at Ivan, who was only partially visible, with a mix of disbelief and shock.
He hadn’t expected the one who had cast such a powerful spell to be a mere thirteen-year-old young wizard. He couldn’t believe he had been defeated by such a child.
"Where is your mother, Aisha?" Adan wiped the blood from his mouth.
"Dealing with you doesn’t require her to lift a finger", Ivan said casually, flicking his right wrist to cast a Crushing Curse.
"Very well, very well!" Adan dodged the spell, gritting his teeth. He couldn’t believe he was being so underestimated.
"By the time I kill you, she’d better not regret it!" Anger consumed Adan’s reason. His injuries and the blood flowing from his wounds only fueled his rage.
An injured lone wolf was the most terrifying.
Adan’s eyes glowed red as he waved his Wand, a green light flashing in the air.
"Avada Kedavra!"
