Chapter 324: The Unbelievable Miracle
Chapter 324: The Unbelievable Miracle
January 4, 2025
Sacred Grove Plane.
The 1,000-meter-tall Tower of Wisdom, carved from a massive tree trunk, stood like a spear piercing the sky. Countless thick vines entwined the tower's surface, forming intricate, gigantic runes.
Inside the tower, a grand meeting hall was filled with a bright, expansive space.
A meeting convened by the Council of Wisdom, the highest governing body of the Codex of Wisdom, was underway.
"The intelligence has been verified, and the Star Alliance's Floating City has indeed been completed."
Rowen Ward, seated at the far end of the left side of the conference table, spoke in a calm, clear voice that echoed through the hall.
As a newly risen True Spirit Sorcerer and scholar, he had recently joined the Council of Wisdom, but with the shortest tenure and lowest ranking. According to tradition, he was responsible for handling many of the meeting's affairs, although the actual operations were delegated to his subordinates.
The most crucial topic, however, was how to approach the Star Alliance.
Since Sunan's ascension to True Spirit Sorcerer, the outside world's attention to him and the Star Alliance had grown exponentially, and news of the Floating City's construction had naturally spread.
Initially, many people were skeptical of the Star Alliance's endeavor.
Building a Floating City required astronomical resources, and the core facilities demanded a tremendous test of the creator's abilities.
Typically, it took the cooperation of several True Spirit Sorcerers, backed by the resources of a major wizard faction, to complete a Floating City over an extended period.
This was why secondary wizard factions found it challenging to build Floating Cities.
Even those who believed the Star Alliance might succeed thought it would take at least a few thousand years.
Who could have imagined that the Star Alliance would not only complete the Floating City but do so in under 900 years?
Such rapid progress was almost unbelievable!
"Completing a Floating City in under 900 years is unthinkable!"
"A secondary wizard faction must have incredibly vast resources at their disposal."
"According to intelligence, the Star Alliance sells massive amounts of magic stones every year, reaping huge profits. They likely control numerous magic stone mines."
"What about the core facilities' manufacturing? Did the Star Alliance have a wizard skilled in magical item crafting?"
"Perhaps it was Sunan himself."
The scholars engaged in a lively discussion.
Suddenly, a faint tapping sound on the table interrupted the conversation.
The hall fell silent, and all eyes turned to the figure seated at the head of the conference table.
His face was shrouded in mist, making it impossible to discern his features, but his masculine physique was evident.
"Who introduced the Star Alliance?"
The scholars' gazes shifted to Mai Ya, seated on the right side of the conference table.
Meeting their gaze, Mai Ya replied calmly, "It was I, Dean of the Council."
"What is your assessment of the Star Alliance and Sunan?"
Mai Ya pondered for a moment before responding with a complex expression, "Sunan is the most talented genius I've encountered. I couldn't fathom his true nature, but I know his strength grows at an extraordinary rate, and he employs diverse methods. The Star Alliance's development is largely due to Sunan's efforts. However, I still haven't discovered the means by which he achieved such rapid growth."
"One thing is certain: without Sunan, the Star Alliance's momentum would grind to a halt and plummet back to the lower ranks."
Mai Ya's words echoed through the hall, leaving many scholars deep in thought.
"In other words, as long as Sunan remains, the Star Alliance will continue to expand rapidly?" The Dean's voice was devoid of emotion.
Mai Ya nodded emphatically, "Yes, just like the secondary wizard factions that built Floating Cities, the Star Alliance will eventually join the ranks of major wizard factions."
The hall was unusually quiet, with scholars exchanging silent glances.
The wizarding world's current power structure had remained unchanged for a long time, with no new major wizard factions emerging in tens of thousands of years.
The introduction of a new major wizard faction would undoubtedly disrupt the status quo and have a significant impact.
The only consolation might be that the Star Alliance was not inferior to the black wizard camp.
Rowen cleared his throat, casting a subtle glance at Mai Ya, and said, "To become a major wizard faction, one must at least fully control a plane cluster, which is no easy task. The Star Alliance may have the potential to become a major wizard faction, but they still have a long way to go."
Mai Ya shot Rowen a deep glance.
Both of them were among the younger generation within the Codex of Wisdom, and they were the cream of the crop, making them competitors.
The better the Star Alliance performed as an affiliate organization she had introduced, the more credit she would receive. It wasn't surprising that Rowen would try to trip her up at this moment.
Mai Ya's thoughts raced, but her expression remained calm. She said, "Even so, with the possession of the Floating City, the Star Alliance has already become a first-rate power in the multiverse. We can no longer treat them as an ordinary affiliate organization."
Her words were mature and thoughtful, and many senior scholars nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Rowen's lips twitched slightly, and he lowered his eyelids, remaining silent.
The man at the head of the conference table scanned the crowd, paused for a moment, and slowly spoke.
"Might makes right in the wizarding world."
"Since the Star Alliance has demonstrated its strength and potential, it deserves our respect."
"From today onwards, we need to change our attitude towards the Star Alliance. Treat them as partners, not just mere affiliates."
"I'll leave the specifics to you, Mai Ya. Any issues?"
"No problem, Dean," Mai Ya replied promptly.
The Dean nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping the room, and then said, "The meeting is adjourned. You may disperse."
As his words fell, the man vanished without a trace.
With his departure, the atmosphere in the hall gradually lightened.
"Congratulations, Mai Ya. The fact that the Dean entrusted this task to you shows that he highly values you."
"Mai Ya's insight is remarkable. She has discovered the treasure that is the Star Alliance."
"It's the first time our Codex of Wisdom has an affiliate organization with such potential. If the Star Alliance truly becomes a major wizarding force, it will greatly benefit us."
Many senior scholars offered their congratulations to Mai Ya.
The Star Alliance was introduced by Mai Ya as an affiliate organization, and she had a good relationship with Sunan as well.
This meant that the stronger the Star Alliance became, the more influential it would be, and Mai Ya's status within the Codex of Wisdom would rise accordingly.
Mai Ya thanked them one by one, her gaze sweeping the hall, and she noticed that Rowen had left without her noticing.
Realm of Truth
Wizard Town, Top of the Stone Tower.
Morik and Ortis sat facing each other, both with looks of astonishment on their faces.
"I never expected the Star Alliance to build the Floating City so quickly," Morik exclaimed.
Ortis also had a complex expression, "With the Floating City, the Star Alliance has undergone a complete transformation."
They exchanged glances, and their eyes revealed their shared awe.
The significance of the Floating City was well understood by any wizard.
The Star Alliance, having constructed the Floating City, could be said to be on a different level from other secondary wizard factions.
Morik and Ortis were both leaders of their respective wizard factions. Previously, the Abyss Dawn and the Sky Ravens were slightly weaker than the Star Alliance, but they were still of the same caliber.
However, the current Star Alliance had undoubtedly surpassed the Abyss Dawn and the Sky Ravens by a wide margin.
Even major wizarding factions like the Codex of Wisdom and the Deep Blue Alliance could no longer afford to underestimate them.
"Sunan never fails to surprise us," Morik said, shaking his head in awe.
Ortis also expressed his agreement.
Although they had known Sunan for a long time and had worked together on numerous occasions, she still felt that she couldn't quite grasp her.
Sunan was not only a genius with unparalleled talent in the wizarding world, but she had also built the Star Alliance from scratch, creating a force with immense potential. It was almost like an unbelievable miracle.
Moonshadow Plane, Darkest City.
Despite the awe-inspiring power of the True Spirit Wizards, the two of them didn't dare to discuss it further, instead, they shrugged and continued on their way.
As they walked down the corridor, Jude eventually arrived at a heavy wooden door. Without stopping, he continued forward, as if walking through water, and entered the door.
Beyond the door was a massive stone hall, simply decorated with only a huge obsidian round table in the center, devoid of any other furniture.
Despite its simplicity, this place was one of the most crucial locations in the entire Darkest City, and it was where the highest-level meetings of the Shadow Throne were held.
There were ten seats around the round table, and seven of them were already occupied.
Six of the seated individuals had their eyes slightly lowered, sitting with a solemn air, subtly focusing on another person as the center of attention.
This person was dressed in a black robe, not revealing a single inch of skin, and even their face was shrouded in a deep, profound shadow, with their eyes, nose, and mouth completely covered.
At first glance, the person seemed like a human-shaped shadow, exuding a mysterious and chilling aura.
Jude's gaze briefly swept over the person and then he slightly bowed in respect.
"Earl Benitez."
Earl Benitez, this name was famous throughout the multiverse.
The reason was that he was one of the three highest-ranking managers of the Shadow Throne.
He was undoubtedly a high-ranking figure in the entire wizarding world.
As for the other six people present, including Jude, they were the seven Crown Wizards below the Shadow Throne.
"Take a seat."
Earl glanced at Jude and waved his hand.
Jude bowed again and then took a seat in one of the empty spots.
Earl surveyed the room with his gaze and spoke in a deep voice.
"Alright, now that everyone is here, let's discuss what's going on."
As his words fell, everyone's attention turned to Jude.
Jude's eyes twitched slightly, and he spoke in a deep voice, "The news has been confirmed. The Star Alliance has indeed built a floating city."
Although they had anticipated this, the Crown Wizards present still couldn't help but feel a sense of concern.
"With this development, the Star Alliance might be able to take another step forward and join the ranks of the major wizarding factions in the future."
"The Star Alliance is an affiliate organization of the Codex of Wisdom, and they are not on the same side as us."
"That's right. If the Star Alliance truly becomes a major wizarding faction, it won't be a good thing for us."
"If I recall correctly, our organization has had some disagreements with the Star Alliance, hasn't it?" One of the Crown Wizards looked at Jude, "Hasn't it always been Jude's people who have been dealing with the Star Alliance?"
Jude's face slightly darkened, but facing Earl's gaze, he nodded.
"I underestimated the Star Alliance and Sunan."
As he spoke these words, a hint of bitterness and regret flashed in Jude's heart.
If only they had known that Sunan and the Star Alliance would grow to such a degree today. Even if it meant going to war with the Codex of Wisdom, they should have eliminated Sunan and the Star Alliance, crushing the threat in its infancy.
But who could have predicted the rapid growth of Sunan and the Star Alliance?
In just three thousand years since the unsealing of the Starlight Continent, they had grown to a point where even the Shadow Throne had to take them seriously.
Now, even if Jude were to make up his mind to take action against Sunan and the Star Alliance, it wouldn't be that easy.
Even without the protection of the Codex of Wisdom, the Star Alliance, with its floating city, was already a force to be reckoned with.
To eliminate such a powerful faction, the Shadow Throne would have to mobilize all its forces.
But how easy would that be?
A giant like the Shadow Throne often had to mobilize all its forces when even a single thread was pulled. Could they really mobilize all their forces just like that? In comparison, dealing with Sunan might be a simpler task.
"My original plan was to wait for Sunan to enter the Realm of Truth and then find an opportunity to kill him. But he has been acting together with Ma Yisha, Morik, and Ortis, and I haven't found the right moment to strike."
Earl remained silent for a while before speaking, "Regardless, we can't allow Sunan and the Star Alliance to continue growing. I can give you the authority to deploy additional personnel. No matter what methods you use, you must kill Sunan."
Jude's spirit lifted, and he immediately nodded in agreement.
"Yes, Earl!"
The Crown Wizards of the Shadow Throne didn't have a unified command, so Jude couldn't order the other Crown Wizards around. But with Earl's support, things were different.
If multiple Crown Wizards joined forces, even if Sunan continued to act with Ma Yisha and the others, Jude was confident that he could ensure Sunan wouldn't survive the Realm of Truth!
"Don't disappoint me," Earl said, glancing at Jude with a faint look.
Jude's heart trembled slightly, and he replied solemnly, "Rest assured, Earl!"
