Divination can only provide a reference, not a definitive prediction. The future is always changing, and the moment you start a divination, the future begins to shift. Never treat the results of a divination as absolute truth; otherwise, the future will surely surprise you with a backstab.

At the time, after listening to the professor's warning, Jerry suddenly understood why Voldemort immediately went to kill Harry upon learning of the prophecy.

The prophecy speaks of the most likely future, not an inevitable one. Therefore, by killing Harry in advance, Voldemort could eliminate that possibility.

Hermione's eyes lit up.

One of the reasons she liked Jerry was not just because he was excellent in every way, but also because being with him meant she didn't have to worry about many things. Jerry always thought ahead, making her feel very comfortable.
