Chapter 321: The Fake Heir
Chapter 321: The Fake Heir
The silence in the neighboring hospital bed was eerie...
Madam Pomfrey was also asleep, and Kyle, having put on his shoes and clothes, quietly left the Hospital Wing and arrived at the equally quiet castle.
However, upon reaching the castle, Kyle recalled that Professor McGonagall had mentioned earlier that Dumbledore was not at school today.
But it didn't matter; he encountered Professor McGonagall on the third floor.
Seeing Kyle in the castle, Professor McGonagall was furious.
"You should be in the Hospital Wing... not wandering around here!"
"Professor McGonagall, I know where the Chamber of Secrets is!" Kyle exclaimed, "Its entrance is in the Lavender Lavatory, right beneath the non-functioning faucet."
"What?" Professor McGonagall stared at Kyle in surprise, then immediately realized what he meant.
"Wait here, don't go anywhere."
She waved her wand, and a transparent tabby cat suddenly appeared—her Patronus.
After saying something to the cat, it nimbly leaped up the stairs and vanished with a few flickers.
During this process, Kyle did not obediently wait.
In fact, when Professor McGonagall summoned her Patronus, he had already slipped away through a secret passage behind him.
Kyle knew that the professors would not allow him to accompany them to the Chamber of Secrets, but he had to go there once.
Perhaps due to that strange dream, ever since he arrived on the third floor, Kyle had this idea in his mind, and it became increasingly intense.
Kyle emerged from the other side of the secret passage, identified the direction, and quickly arrived at the Lavender Lavatory.
The previously set "Exploding Textbooks" had mysteriously disappeared, but Kyle no longer cared about them.
He used Parseltongue to open the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets and said to the astonished Lavender, "The professors will all be here soon. Remember to tell them that the Chamber is beneath this."
"You..."
Lavender seemed to say something, but Kyle didn't hear it.
He had already jumped into the pipe and was rapidly sliding downward.
A sticky sensation on his back made Kyle regret a little.
Why didn't he use his broomstick just now...
Soon, Kyle returned to the ground, quickly walked through the damp and dark tunnel, and arrived at the final Chamber of Secrets' entrance.
Strangely, after reaching this point, the buzzing in Kyle's head disappeared, and he felt normal again.
He spoke to the Chamber's entrance in Parseltongue once more.
"Open!"
The stone wall split in the middle, slowly sliding to the sides and disappearing...
The Chamber of Secrets looked no different from before, but Kyle noticed that at the foot of the Slytherin statue, there was an additional black diary.
"I didn't expect it to be you." A voice spoke softly.
Kyle wasn't too surprised and turned to look in the direction of the voice.
A tall boy was leaning against the nearest stone pillar, staring at him. The boy looked to be around fifteen or sixteen years old, with black hair and thin lips, and was quite handsome.
At first glance, he somewhat resembled Cedric.
"Tom Riddle."
"It's me." Riddle nodded, "It's been a long time, my... good friend?"
He walked over, "I've been wondering who would be the first to find the location of the Chamber... Dumbledore? Harry Potter?
I never expected it to be you."
"Surprised?" Kyle asked.
"Not at all." Riddle smiled, "You're just as smart and meticulous as I was back then... finding the Chamber of Secrets isn't surprising."
"Don't flatter yourself." Kyle snorted, "I'm in my third year, and I've already received two House Special Contribution Awards and the Merlin Order Second Class Medal.
What about you? You only received one House Special Contribution Award in your fifth year... tsk tsk.
"Voldemort's face finally showed a hint of change, no longer as calm as before.
'I said, none of that matters. Only power is everything!'
He took two steps forward, and a wand appeared in his hand at some unknown point.
It was Ron's wand.
'We are of the same kind, Kyle. Those filthy Mudbloods are not worthy to sit in the same classroom as you.'
Voldemort extended his hand, 'Follow me. In the witness of the great Salazar Slytherin, I promise you, we can change this world and bring the magical world into a new and glorious era.'
Kyle looked at the wand in his hand, which was subtly aimed at himself, and narrowed his eyes, 'I only have one question. How did you get out?'
'To be honest, I don't know either.' Voldemort's lips curled into a strange smile, continuing to stare at Kyle.
'I was still thinking of ways to gain your trust... but one day, I suddenly found myself leaving that place where I couldn't feel any magic, and I met another person.
Although he was timid, weak, and even afraid to lift the dirty disguise, he was more naive than you, and he easily opened his soul to me...'
'You see, with his help, I became so much better.'
'Who is it?' Kyle asked again.
'Consider him my future servant...' Voldemort said nonchalantly, 'Now, it's your turn to answer my question.

Even though you once deceived me, I don't mind. As long as you are willing to follow me... I will let bygones be bygones.'
'Hmm...' Kyle stroked his chin, 'Can I think about it?'
'Of course.' Voldemort said indifferently, 'The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets in the lavatory where you stayed has been closed by me. No one will disturb us for a short time.'
'Oh, that's really...'
Without any warning, Kyle suddenly raised his wand.
A row of sharp stone spikes grew from under Voldemort's feet, piercing through his body.
But Voldemort didn't seem to care.
'What a pity, I thought you would agree.'
Kyle smiled, 'If I say I just slipped, will you believe me?'
'What do you think!' Voldemort glared at Kyle with a hideous expression,
'Cruciatus Curse!'
'Avada Kedavra!'
A red and a white light collided in the air, then each changed direction and landed in different places.
The white light grazed the nearby pillar, leaving a deep cut on it.
Voldemort looked at the pillar in surprise.
'This level of Dark Magic, and the previous Confundus Charm... Among the young wizards of this age, you are the strongest I've ever seen.
I almost don't want to kill you.'
Although he said this, the sinister smile on his face became more pronounced.
'The game ends here. Let me show you my true power, the power of Salazar Slytherin!'
Voldemort turned around, facing the face of the Slytherin statue, and opened his mouth to make a hissing sound.
'Speak to me...'
'Speak to me...'
Two voices sounded simultaneously.
The sudden change caught Voldemort off guard, and he turned his head unconsciously.
However, in that moment, Kyle had already finished casting the Parseltongue spell.
'Speak to me, Slytherin... one of the greatest of the Hogwarts Founders!'
'You... you... this is impossible!'
For the first time, a look of surprise appeared on Voldemort's face. He turned around fiercely and roared, 'Damn it, how do you know how to summon the Basilisk!'
'Because I am the true heir of Slytherin.' Kyle revealed Lockhart's signature smile, 'You're just a fake imposter.'
