Chapter 321: Everything Will Be Alright, Won't It?
Chapter 321: Everything Will Be Alright, Won't It?
Chatting idly, the two quickly returned to Knockturn Alley. Aisha drew her wand and tapped on the tightly closed door, and it swung open.
"Alright, you go sit upstairs for a bit, I'll start cooking first."
Aisha took off her purple cloak and hung it by the door, then turned to look at Ivan, unable to resist saying again, "It's been a while since we last met, why have you become so thin? Are you not eating well at school?"
"It's okay", Ivan shook his head, speaking casually. "I just missed you!"
"I've never seen you take the initiative to write home! Is this how you show you miss me?" Aisha lightly tapped Ivan's forehead, scolding him with a smile.
Ivan took the opportunity to embrace her, hugging Aisha tightly.
"What's wrong?" Aisha was a bit surprised, her right hand gently stroking Ivan's hair, wondering if he had been wronged at Hogwarts.
Just as Aisha was about to ask, she suddenly felt a dizziness in her head, faintly hearing some sound. In the next moment, she lost consciousness and collapsed in Ivan's arms.
"Stupefy!" Ivan said, putting away the wand that had been pointing at Aisha's abdomen, and murmured, "Sleep for a while."
Ivan's face was full of remorse. He didn't want Aisha to be involved in the upcoming battle, as there was a risk of death for anyone who participated.
He didn't want to take any risks!
So Ivan had to knock Aisha out. Otherwise, with Aisha's personality, she would never hide and let him fight alone.
Fortunately, most magical items could not activate their defensive properties without the user's active trigger, which was why he was able to subdue Aisha so easily.
"Hermione!" Ivan called out to the empty, deserted surroundings. He couldn't see through the Invisibility Cloak, but he knew Hermione would definitely be following him.
Sure enough, not far from him, the brown-haired young witch took off the Invisibility Cloak and appeared before him.
"Ivan, what should we do now?" Hermione glanced at Aisha, who was unconscious in Ivan's arms, and asked.
"You take Aisha and hide in the basement. Bring the Invisibility Cloak with you. No matter what happens, no matter what you hear, don't come out, understand?" Ivan said.
Hermione pursed her lips, hesitating for a moment.
"Remember? You just promised me!" Ivan said seriously.
"Okay", Hermione bit her lip and nodded.
Ivan breathed a sigh of relief, carrying Aisha and opening the trapdoor to the basement. Hermione silently followed behind him.
They walked all the way to the practice room before Ivan stopped, placing Aisha in a corner. The Invisibility Cloak was large enough to cover both of them, so even if the Death Eaters found the basement, they wouldn't be able to discover them.
Afterward, Ivan left the basement and looked at the shelves filled with various magical items, thinking about the upcoming battle. He gathered most of the items that wouldn't be useful and stacked them in the basement workshop.
He didn't want them to be damaged during the battle—these were all valuable items!
After doing all this, Ivan turned around and realized Hermione had somehow already come out of the practice room, blocking the entrance to the workshop.
"Why did you come out?" Ivan furrowed his brow.
Hermione silently took a few steps forward, suddenly rushing up and wrapping her arms around him tightly. She held him for a while, then raised her head, her brown eyes staring at Ivan, her body trembling slightly.
"Ivan, you'll be fine, right?"
"Of course!" Ivan said with an unusually relaxed tone. "Do you know what I saw when I came in that day? The floor was littered with the bodies of those Death Eaters, so it definitely wasn't me who died!"
"Is that so? That's a relief!" Hermione said softly, but she didn't let go of his hand.
"Alright, I need to go upstairs and set things up; they'll be here soon." Ivan tried to reassure the worried Hermione, urging her to hide quickly.
Once Hermione left, Ivan's relaxed expression turned serious. Ten Dark Wizards! The chances of winning a direct confrontation were slim!
However, he wasn't without advantages. This was his own Dark Magic Shop, and he knew it well. The shop was filled with trigger-based dark magic items. All he needed to do was infuse them with some magic to set them off, turning them into traps.
This might help him deal with some of the enemies.
With that in mind, Ivan put on the Invisibility Cloak and began setting up traps. He used Transfiguration to fill the empty spots on the shelves, then glanced at the clock. It was almost time for the first explosion he had heard in Knockturn Alley.
"Expecto Patronum!" Ivan waved his wand, and wisps of white mist began to swirl out from the tip, forming a translucent shadow of a Unicorn in the air.
With a thought, the Unicorn's ethereal form passed through the ceiling and stopped on the second floor.
A knock at the door caught Ivan's attention, and he quickly retreated to a corner on the first floor, watching silently.
Knock, knock, knock
The Dark Magic Shop was eerily quiet, except for the heavy knocking at the door.
Impatient, the closed door was soon blasted open!
A group of Death Eaters filed in, led by a middle-aged wizard in his forties. He was slightly overweight, clutching his wand tightly, and his eagle-like eyes scanned the room cautiously.
The shop was filled with wooden shelves, neatly arranged with various magical items. However, it seemed empty, and such a loud noise should have drawn someone's attention if anyone was here.
The middle-aged wizard frowned. "Ralph, are you sure you didn't make a mistake? She couldn't have not returned yet, right?"
"That's impossible! I clearly saw her enter with the child! She must still be here! Maybe she's hiding because of our numbers", Ralph, the Death Eater, shook his head and said confidently.
The female owner of the magic shop, Aisha, had cast an Anti-Apparition Charm to prevent them from Apparating directly into the shop. They had already tried, and it was impossible to bypass the charm.
Such charms don't distinguish between friend and foe, and removing them would take time.
(Please note: If you've been paying attention, you'll remember that in earlier chapters, Aisha left the shop and then Apparated. In Chapter 269, Ivan found many magical items in the workshop. I hope you haven't forgotten.)
