Chapter 320: The Dragon King's Feast
Chapter 320: The Dragon King's Feast
The earth crumbled and shattered, and a tsunami surged, covering the sky, causing panic and despair among all who witnessed it.
Even the most powerful half-breeds couldn't muster the courage to resist such formidable might. This was a divine spectacle only the Dragon Kings could manifest, manipulating the elements and unleashing a catastrophe beyond human capability.
"When Nidhogg awakens, it will bring an even greater, worldwide disaster. Experience the helplessness of facing Ragnarok."
Odin's ethereal voice echoed.
"Helplessness?"
Lu Ke raised an eyebrow, his figure already high in the sky, gazing at the tsunami as if it were a rebellious son he was scolding gently.
"Roll back."
The tsunami, as if about to engulf the entire world, paused at this command.
After a few seconds, one of the calamities quietly collapsed.
He then looked down at the slowly sinking and cracking ground. His five fingers curled as if grasping something heavy, and his palm was pulled downward, causing the land's sinking to halt.
This was material control magic from Lily's world, and Lu Ke's specialty—manipulating and transforming earth and water!
Odin: ...
Even he couldn't help but fall silent at this sight. Although he had gathered information about Lu Ke in advance and knew that the person who could silently devour Norton and Constantin would be terrifying, he never imagined someone could do such a thing! Preservation was far more challenging than destruction. Aside from that Supreme Being, even the White Queen might not have done better.
But he couldn't retreat; he must not!
Retreat in a battle between kings meant death!
As Lu Ke was busy with his actions, Odin slowly drew out 'Lust,' regaining his formidable aura. The air around him carried the scent of death, and in the rainwater on the ground, a distorted reflection revealed a different dimension.
There, day and night did not exist. The sky perpetually held a half-dark, half-light glow. The ground and mountains were bronze, formed from dead earth and metal. The sky was gray, composed of deceased air. The flames were a cold blue, made from dead fire elements. The water couldn't float anything because it, too, was dead.
The Land of the Dead—Niflheim! In Norse mythology, Odin created Niflheim to house the souls of fallen warriors, and the powerful Valkyries served as their guides.
Odin demonstrated the ability to connect to other places through mirrors!
The gates opened, space distorted, and countless Deathstalkers poured out from the other side like a tidal wave. They wore black cloaks and skull masks, their voices raspy and mumbling.
"A rare freedom..."
"Humans again..."
"The scent of flesh and blood..."
They emerged from the pouring rain, rising from the water like bees, their strengths varied, but their numbers were staggering. Like a swarm of locusts, they carried greed and bloodlust.
...
At the edge of the coastline.
The once calm water suddenly stirred, and a group of dragon-like corpse guards emerged, howling and wailing like infants.
Amidst the horde of hellish demons, a massive dragon-like corpse guard rose from the water's surface. It stood like a lord, its eyes burning with blue flames, leading the Deathstalkers toward the surface.
This army should have existed only in the distant past, during the era when the Dragon Race enslaved humanity. Just the sight of it was enough to imagine the catastrophe it could bring.
...
In the Akagawa River tunnel, a torrent of crimson fetal blood surged, and countless Ghost-Toothed Vipers writhed, seemingly ready to devour everything in their path.
The terrifying presence deep within, nurtured by the divine fetal blood, instinctively drove the various dragon subspecies to seek escape. The ecosystem collapsed, and countless subspecies rich in dragon genes surged towards the surface.
Before the calamity ended, a man-made disaster had arrived. Japan's hidden thunderbolts were triggered, and simultaneously, the Deathstalkers, Corpse Guards, and Ghost-Toothed Vipers invaded from three directions!
...
High above, Lu Ke, supporting the foundation, showed a slight change in expression as he sensed something. He looked down at the audience below; only Hanai, whom he had strengthened, could intervene in the battle between the Dragon Kings.
"Return to your positions."
Seeing Chu Zihan's eager expression, he added, "Rest assured, I remember my promise."
Lu Ke raised his hand slightly, and with a ripple in space, several people disappeared from the scene.
Just as he finished, a violent tremor emanated from Niflheim's gates. Among the Deathstalkers, a massive black snake, hundreds of meters long, silently slithered forward. Its golden eyes shone like burning torches, and its black scales lacked luster, making it appear weak. The spirituality deep within its eyes was severely lacking, and a figure stood atop its head.
The wind lifted the figure's cloak, revealing delicate skin that glowed with radiance. Her graceful figure was perfectly proportioned, and her exquisite beauty was pure and delightful.
The Ocean and Water Monarch!
The Earth and Mountain Monarch!
Through the gates of Niflheim, the two Dragon Kings swiftly arrived at the battlefield.
Including Lu Ke, who had already ascended to the position of the Bronze and Flame King, and Odin, the Sky and Wind Monarch, all four Dragon Kings had gathered.
The elements in the sky began to rage as the masters of earth, water, wind, and fire assembled, each attracting countless elements.
Yemengaddi looked at Lu Ke, who was uninjured, his clothes untouched. His expression darkened as he raised his palm, revealing a shallow bloodstain that hadn't healed.
"Brother, you deceived me. According to our blood oath, I can punish you."
"Isn't this more beneficial for you? The enemy is too strong and unusual. Only by joining forces can we survive."
Odin spoke with utmost gravity, "Norton and Constantin have been devoured by him. Can you imagine what this monster will be like after consuming the other Dragon Bone Crosses?"
Silence filled the air.
As the conversation continued, Lu Ke slowly loosened his grip, and the collapse of the foundation had been completely healed, even becoming more stable than before.
"If you've decided, come at me together. You're just appetizers."
Lu Ke raised his hand coldly, and the remaining six of the Seven Deadly Sins in the black box simultaneously ejected, floating in the air as if they were extensions of Lu Ke's limbs, dancing with agility.
Odin raised Gungnir again, and the countless starlight rays covered the magnificent aurora. Elemental turbulence in the dark clouds triggered crimson flames and deep blue thunder, creating a grand spectacle.
The black snake, unable to hold back, pounced forward. Its majestic body, hundreds of meters tall, could crush any opponent with its sheer weight. But 'Wrath' slashed towards its head, and the sharp Seven Deadly Sins, with terrifying force, broke the sound barrier and emitted a deafening roar.
A white-as-jade yet incredibly sturdy fist struck 'Wrath', and although the force wasn't great, it skillfully deflected the attack with a four-ounce force, sending it flying. Yemengaddi, the Earth and Mountain Monarch, had already manifested her dragon features without anyone noticing. Her control over force was unparalleled, and she precisely struck the 'Eye'.
If it weren't for the hardness of the Seven Deadly Sins, that strike alone could have destroyed almost all alchemical blades. The girl with the angelic face didn't retreat but advanced, charging straight towards Lu Ke with sharp dragon claws aimed at his heart.
'Pride' and 'Envy' destroyed the countless meteors, the crimson flames, and the thunder, slashing towards Gungnir.
Crack!
The divine weapon, made from the branches of the World Tree, bent to its limit, trembling before being snapped in two. The other Seven Deadly Sins then aimed for their targets.
'Sloth' pierced Odin's abdomen, 'Greed' tore through his layers of armor, and 'Gluttony' nearly sliced him in half. 'Lust', freed from his grasp, shot straight towards his head, out of his control.
Time suddenly froze, and everything came to a standstill.
The 'Lust' aimed at Odin halted, and Lu Ke, who was about to deliver the next strike, stopped. The black snake, attempting to rise, remained frozen in its action. Yemengaddi, with her black hair flowing in the wind, was also frozen in mid-air.
That was close!
Cold sweat covered Odin's forehead. The feeling of life slipping away was so rare in his millions of years of existence that he had almost lost his sense of danger.
All movements began to reverse, and time started to rewind with Odin at the center.
"You don't think you're the only one who can manipulate time, do you?"
At that moment, Lu Ke's voice echoed coldly.
As the rewinding time flowed with a green glow, Odin's suddenly contracted pupils reflected the rapidly enlarging fist, carrying the power to destroy the heavens and the earth.
Time resumed its flow.
Boom!
The black snake, which had just gotten up, was slammed into the ground again by Odin, who fell like a meteor. The ground cracked, and a powerful shockwave spread in all directions, uprooting trees. The Deathstalkers didn't even have time to dodge, and not a single one remained. Even the doors of Niflheim were obliterated.
Yemengaddi controlled the wind element and stood in the air. In the blink of an eye, a loud noise reverberated, followed by the sight of Odin falling, smashing into the black snake, creating a massive crater from which winding blood flowed.
As the smoke cleared, the black snake was split in two, but under the dragon king's powerful life force, it wasn't dead. Instead, it was slowly reconnecting. Odin, having lost consciousness, reverted to Pompeii Gatuso, a step away from death. The commonality between them was that neither would regain their fighting strength in a short time.
Silence.
How the hell do you fight this?
Tell me, how the hell do you fight this?!
As Lu Ke approached step by step, Yemengaddi couldn't help but take a step back, her dragon features gradually fading. She struggled to maintain her composure.
"Can we come to an agreement?"
Lu Ke stroked his chin, appraising the girl's infinitely beautiful figure.
"Do you want to submit to me and work under me?"
"No. I am Yemengaddi. You may kill a Dragon King, but you can never make her submit."
Yemengaddi raised her head proudly, neither humble nor arrogant, embodying the essence of a Dragon King.
Lu Ke raised an eyebrow. He had heard those words before, but Norton and Constantin had quickly submitted.
Dragon Kings, like humans, experienced emotions and had vulnerabilities. Once their weaknesses were found, they would bow their heads, just as they had once bowed to the Black Queen, Nighogg. Just as they feared Ragnarok.
Lu Ke's eyes flashed with insight, analyzing the data of the defeated to discern the truth. Then, in a calm tone, he spoke.
"You left your cocoon in Niflheim, in the Beijing subway station, guarded by your brother, Fenrir."
Yemengaddi: "..."
"But you forgot that the Seven Deadly Sins are specifically designed to counter Dragon Kings. If you die here, you will truly perish, and Fenrir cannot move. The incubation period of the cocoon is long. Even without the Seven Deadly Sins, I can still go there and devour both you and your brother."
Yemengaddi: "..."
"Now, answer me again. Do you want to submit to me and work under me?"
Yemengaddi: "Yes."
She was done for!
