Chapter 32: Is the Dragon Sect in Trouble?
"Alright, I'm done with your upper body. Now, take off your pants."
Zhu Shan Ying patted Xue Jing's broad shoulders and smiled.
"Umm, I can handle the lower half myself. No need to trouble Senior Sister."
Xue Jing paused, sounding a little awkward.
"Hehe, I was just joking."
Zhu Shan Ying's eyes sparkled with amusement, finding Xue Jing's awkwardness rather endearing.
"My cute junior brother."
"Alright, I'll go do my homework now. You follow the method I showed you, apply the Sleeping Dragon Balm, and massage it in with your qi force. See you later."
The young girl stood up, bade farewell, and left the training room with light footsteps.
After she left, Xue Jing took off his pants and, gritting his teeth against the pain, began to apply the balm and massage his legs with qi force, just as Zhu Shan Ying had instructed.
True to its name, the Sleeping Dragon Balm, a secret medicine of the Dragon Sect, was exceptionally effective. Initially, there was a burning sensation, but it quickly gave way to a soothing warmth that eased the pain and discomfort caused by practicing the Coiled Dragon Technique.
With his body still recovering, Xue Jing couldn't continue his training for the time being. With nothing else to do at the Dragon Sect, he left and took the bus home.
Cat was still asleep, and Xue Jing didn't want to disturb it. Instead, he turned on the computer in his room.
After discovering that Cat had used his computer before, he had installed a discreet screen recording software that started automatically on boot. He wondered if he had recorded anything useful about Cat's activities.
After the computer booted up, Xue Jing used a shortcut key to open the recording software and then the video folder, where he indeed found a recorded video.
He glanced at Cat, still asleep on the bed, hesitated for a moment, and then played the video.
In the video, the mouse cursor on the desktop slowly moved to the browser, seemingly due to the inconvenience of Cat's claws, making the operation rather slow.
Once the browser was open, Cat first typed in a web address, then, in a discreet location, downloaded a software program with a garbled name.
After a series of operations that Xue Jing couldn't understand, the software was successfully installed.
When the software was opened, nothing popped up on the screen except for a small icon in the bottom right corner.
Cat then opened the browser again and entered another address. After a few seconds of connection, a website called 'Underworld' appeared in the video.
It seemed to be a forum site with numerous sub-channels.
[Prohibited Drug Trading Area] [Exotic Implant Trading Area] [Bounty Order Area] [Border Hunter Area] [...]
At that moment, an ad popped up on the interface.
[Are you annoyed by your neighbor's constant noise? Are you angry about a betrayal? Are you troubled by the presence of competitors? Kill 'Em App is here to serve you! Place an order, and someone will die. It's quick and easy, saving you time and energy. Order now, and your first order comes with a free death-form selection package...]
Xue Jing: "..."
In the video, Cat didn't even seem to glance at the ad and immediately closed it.
Instead of entering any of the channels, Cat clicked on the login option in the top right corner and, after entering the account password, successfully logged in. The username was [Cult Leader], and the avatar was a cute, anthropomorphic dragon.
The mouse cursor moved to the personal interface, where there was a private chat function. Upon opening it, a chat interface popped up.
Chat History:
[October 10, 10:29]
[Cult Leader: I'm still alive and safe for now. Don't worry.]
[October 10th, 21:39]
[Dragon Faithful: Sect Leader!!! It's so good that you're still alive!!]
[October 10th, 22:46]
[Dragon Faithful: Sect Leader, the Kangde Company is hunting us down. Everyone is talking about disbanding, and we can't stay in the Fifth Urban Circle any longer...]
[October 11th, 01:23]
[Dragon Faithful: Sigh, Mr. An said that even the old Sect Leader is dead, so there's no point in persevering. He took a taxi and left in the middle of the night...]
[October 11th, 08:31]
[Dragon Faithful: Miss Ji said she's going to the Third Urban Circle to depend on her relatives...]
This was followed by a string of messages about people who had left.
[October 13th, 12:18]
[Dragon Faithful: Sect Leader, what should we do? So many people have left...]
In the video, Cat started typing, and due to the inconvenience of their cat claws, they could only type one letter at a time, making the process very slow.
[October 14th, 15:26]
[Sect Leader: It's fine. It's much quieter now.]
After replying, Cat clicked 'X' to clear the browsing history and uninstalled the suspected VPN software before shutting down the computer.
After watching the video, Xue Jing stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Looks like the Dragon Sect is about to disband..."
Fortunately, Cat didn't seem too upset about it and simply replied with a 'it's fine.'
Xue Jing stood up, walked to the bed, and gently stroked Cat's head as they slept, his eyes softening with a gentle smile. "If you have nowhere else to go... it would be nice to have you by my side always."
...
The next day was Monday.
After waking up, Xue Jing found that the soreness in his body from practicing the Coiled Dragon Technique had completely disappeared, thanks to the Sleeping Dragon Balm or perhaps the effect of his [Health] stat.
As usual, he made breakfast for Cat and then headed to school.
From there, he made his way to the Qing University campus and entered the seventh floor of the library.
To activate the passive effect of "Twin Spirit," he needed to continue searching for clues about the Divine Relics.
Now that he had a specific name to go on, his search was much more efficient, and he could easily skip over books and archives that didn't seem related to 'Divine Relics.'
"Hey, you come here every day. Are you looking for something specific? Maybe I can help."
A soft and pleasant voice reached Xue Jing's ears, and he turned to see the long-haired girl who had been a constant presence on the seventh floor. Her beautiful face was framed by her high ponytail, and her eyes, with a hint of purple, were looking at him.
The girl wore a pure white fitted t-shirt, and she held a book in her arms, the top half hidden between her well-endowed chest, obscuring the title.
Xue Jing subconsciously opened his panel to check, and the Charm technique remained inactive, indicating that this was a pure and straightforward inquiry without any ulterior motives.
He quickly returned the book in his hand to the shelf and casually replied, "Are you a student at Qing University?"
"Mmm... I guess you could say that," the girl replied.
Xue Jing hesitated for a moment before asking, "Have you ever heard of 'Divine Relics'?"
Upon hearing this term, the girl's expression froze for a moment before a smile appeared. "So, you're not an ordinary student after all."
Xue Jing's eyebrows furrowed. "You actually know about this?"
"Yes, a little." The girl gestured toward the resting area with an inviting hand. "Let's sit over there and talk."
