With thanks to 'Ordinary Big Brother' for the reward.
Can you guys give me a boost on the new book rankings? I've been stuck at 5th place. I want to move up a bit.

An elder of the village had long discovered Lu HaiKong's identity as a bandit, a realization that only dawned on Lu HaiKong on his return journey.
Only this could explain why the village elder was so biased towards him during the negotiations with 'Zhangjia Village'. Even when asked about his identity and the reasons for his lease, the elder not only avoided probing further in this sensitive area but also prevented other villagers from learning about this aspect.
These abnormal signs all subtly pointed to one thing: the village elder was afraid of angering Lu HaiKong, and the reason for his fear of a stranger like Lu HaiKong was likely because his identity had been exposed.
So, upon returning, Lu HaiKong decided to test this theory, and indeed, his identity had been revealed. Fortunately, the village elder was cooperative and had no intention of reporting him. It was clear that the elder also understood that Lu HaiKong harbored no ill intentions towards their village. In this situation, the elder only wanted to get rid of Lu HaiKong and his group without causing any further trouble.
This was the wisdom of the weak. For them, it was a matter of survival to avoid provoking trouble unless absolutely necessary, especially with a bandit like Lu HaiKong.
Although Lu HaiKong never found out how the old man discovered his identity, it didn't matter. What mattered was that the task was completed.
After this, Lu HaiKong, along with Zhang Feng and Li Yi, returned to the bandit camp. Upon arrival, Lu HaiKong immediately went to check on his group of followers. After a day apart, he even missed Wang Chao MaHan and the others. He was a bit concerned that these silly fellows might not have eaten properly and would starve themselves.
Based on his first impression of Wang Chao MaHan and his group, it seemed plausible that they might starve themselves to death.
Fortunately, this tragic scenario of abysmal intelligence didn't play out. When Lu HaiKong found Wang Chao MaHan and the others, they were training in the camp's training ground. Some were practicing with guns, some with swords, and others with bows, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. The bandits seemed full of vigor and vitality, which put Lu HaiKong at ease.
Lu HaiKong's arrival caused all the bandits in training to stop and stare at him with eager eyes. Although their gazes were still a bit vacant, Lu HaiKong could clearly sense that their eyes were more spirited than those of the average bandit.
In their eyes, he could discern a hint of admiration and reliance. Lu HaiKong suddenly felt a sense of accomplishment and a warmth that he couldn't quite explain, similar to the feeling of returning home and seeing your dog wagging its tail excitedly at the doorstep.
Although comparing them to a dog might not be entirely appropriate, in reality, their current intelligence didn't seem much higher than that of a dog.
With nothing else to do, Lu HaiKong picked up the axe he had left at the training ground and joined Wang Chao MaHan and the others in their training. Zhang Feng and Li Yi hesitated for a moment before joining in with their weapons.
As they trained, nightfall quickly descended. After eating with his followers, Lu HaiKong left the bandit camp and headed to Zhangjia Village. Before departing, he hesitated again and made a quick trip to the mess hall, bringing back a small bag of meat buns. Only then did he leave the mountain.
It was around eight in the evening, and the entire Zhangjia Village was already shrouded in darkness, with every household having turned off their lights. The only place that remained illuminated was where Lu HaiKong was storing food, and Zhang Villager Chief was there, accompanied by his grandson, a little rascal named Zhang Goudan.
Upon seeing Lu HaiKong's arrival, the little rascal, who seemed to have become familiar with Lu HaiKong, made a mischievous face at him, clearly unhappy. Da Zhuang and Niu Niu had already gone to sleep, leaving only the little one to help his grandfather watch over the food, which made him quite discontent.
"You've worked hard, Zhang Villager Chief..." Lu HaiKong greeted the Elder Villager Chief, and just then, the little rascal's nose twitched, and he took a deep sniff. His eyes lit up as he stared intently at the small package in Lu HaiKong's hand.
The little rascal cautiously observed Lu HaiKong and noticed that he seemed engrossed in conversation with his grandfather, paying no attention to him.
Carefully, he slipped away from his grandfather's side and stealthily approached Lu HaiKong. With a swift move, he snatched the package from Lu HaiKong's hand and took off running. As he ran, he couldn't help but glance back, noticing Lu HaiKong's seemingly frustrated and disgruntled expression, which made him feel delighted.
The Elder Villager Chief, of course, immediately understood the situation. The packages in Lu HaiKong's hand were clearly prepared specifically for the little rascal. Otherwise, with his tiny hands, how could he possibly snatch them from Lu HaiKong, a robust and muscular bandit who was obviously a skilled fighter?
Observing Lu HaiKong's seemingly frustrated yet content expression, the Elder Villager Chief realized that this bandit seemed to have taken a liking to his grandson, which caused him some concern.
Lu HaiKong then interrupted his conversation with the Elder Villager Chief and proceeded to focus on his primary task for the day. After all, with ninety thousand pounds of food, and each package weighing a hundred pounds, there were over nine hundred packages in total. Lu HaiKong had brought along all the available manpower, which amounted to only about thirty people. It was going to be a long and arduous task.
Lu HaiKong started working around eight in the evening and continued until three or four in the morning, finally managing to transport enough food to complete the task back to the bandit camp. As for the remaining food, Lu HaiKong decided to leave it for the villagers.
After finishing the task, Lu HaiKong went to find Wang Fat, intending to submit the task. However, to his surprise, Wang Fat was sleeping at this early hour. Left with no choice, Lu HaiKong had to return to get some rest.
The next day, Lu HaiKong woke up early, went to the mess hall for breakfast, and then headed straight to find Wang Fat. When submitting the task, Lu HaiKong couldn't be bothered to listen to Wang Fat's slow and deliberate rambling. However, there was nothing he could do, as the system required him to confirm the task completion, but Wang Fat seemed determined not to give out the reward until he finished speaking.
In the end, Lu HaiKong waited for about twenty minutes, and finally, Wang Fat concluded his speech and generously bestowed the reward.
It is worth mentioning that although the task reward only mentioned the 'Ornate Battle Axe' and the 'Bull Power' skill, there was also an experience reward for the character. After submitting the task, Lu HaiKong's 'Bandit Chief' profession immediately reached its maximum level, and a warm feeling spread throughout his body. This time, the sensation of leveling up was much stronger than any previous experience.
After leveling up, Lu HaiKong quickly opened his attribute panel to take a look.
