Chapter 319: Time to Test Acting Skills Again!
Chapter 319: Time to Test Acting Skills Again!
Has history really been altered?
Ivan was somewhat puzzled. He hadn’t done anything since he returned, so how could there be a butterfly effect?
Under Ivan’s watchful gaze, Aisha didn’t go to wait at Platform 9¾. Instead, she walked to a secluded spot, leaning against a stone pillar, her purple eyes silently watching the entrance to the platform, showing no intention of getting closer.
Is it because she doesn’t want to meet Mr. Arthur and Mrs. Molly?
Ivan speculated about Aisha’s thoughts. He remembered that the Weasley couple knew his father, once mentioning in Knockturn Alley that his father was a hero.
But their opinion of Aisha wasn’t as favorable. From Sirius Black’s attitude last time, Ivan felt that the members of the Order of the Phoenix probably didn’t like his mother very much.
No wonder when he came home in his first year, Aisha only came to pick him up after the Weasleys had left.
These thoughts flashed through Ivan’s mind.
Then, Ivan fixed his gaze on Platform 9¾, wanting to see if Aisha would meet his past self, and whether the past could be changed!
Before long, young wizards began to emerge from the barrier, excitedly running to their parents waiting on the side, making the platform lively.
Ivan quickly spotted George and Fred. Mrs. Weasley, with her loud voice, was urging them to hurry over, and Ivan could faintly hear her questioning their grades for the year.
George and Fred looked very relaxed. They had already met Mrs. Weasley’s expectations for the year, so they were not worried at all, chatting happily with her.
Ivan glanced at them a few times before shifting his focus back to the barrier. His past self would be coming through in a few minutes.
Just then, Hermione tugged at his sleeve and said, "Ivan, remember that one line?"
"What?" Ivan looked at her curiously.
"Of course, the one about following the flow of history!" Hermione looked at Ivan seriously, holding her book. "Didn’t you say you didn’t see your mother here that time?"
Although Ivan hadn’t mentioned this to her, the clever Hermione had guessed it from his expressions and words.
"Yes!" Ivan replied, then he was surprised by Hermione’s words. He suddenly realized what the young witch was trying to tell him. "You want me to go out and distract Aisha?!"
The young witch nodded. Although her understanding of time was limited, since the future Ivan had said this, it must have a deeper meaning, so she decided to remind him at this moment.
Ivan furrowed his brow, his mind in turmoil.
Should he do nothing and let the past change, or should he go and distract Aisha to restore everything to its original state?
The internal struggle lasted less than a second before Ivan decisively chose the latter!
Because he wanted to guide the unknown outcome to the one he desired, not enter another parallel universe!
With that thought, Ivan took the book *Secrets of the Darkest Magic* from Hermione, waved his wand, and transformed it into an empty briefcase.
Ivan took a deep breath, thinking about what to say when they met. Then he lifted the Invisibility Cloak and walked towards Aisha.
It was time to test his acting skills again!
At that moment, Aisha, draped in a purple cloak, was leaning against a stone pillar on the left side, lost in thought as she watched the young wizards emerging from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, searching for Ivan among them.
However, a familiar voice suddenly sounded behind her.
"Mom!"
Aisha was taken aback and instinctively turned her head, only to find Ivan standing right behind her. She asked in surprise, "Ivan? When did you get here? Why didn’t I see you come out of the platform entrance?"
Ivan’s lips curved into a slight smile, and he said with a touch of pride, "Of course, it’s the Disillusionment Charm! It’s a spell I learned this year. How about it? Did I use it well?"
Ivan raised his wand and tapped himself, a water-like layer of magic enveloping him, causing him to vanish from Aisha’s sight. In the next moment, he dispelled the charm, reappearing before her.
After demonstrating the effect of the Disillusionment Charm to Aisha, Ivan looked at her with an expectant gaze, much like a child who had done well on a test and wanted some praise from his parents.
"Amazing! You really are my son!" Aisha smiled warmly, bending down to embrace Ivan and nuzzle his cheek, showering him with generous praise.
Inhaling the familiar scent of lavender, Ivan’s tense nerves relaxed a bit, and he let out a sigh of relief in his heart. It seemed Aisha had no suspicions about him.
Just as Ivan was thinking this, he felt Aisha’s hand pinch his cheek. He cried out in pain, looking at her with an innocent expression, not understanding why she had done that.
"I remember you said last year that you would definitely come back for Christmas this year! I didn’t wait for you that day!" Aisha withdrew her hand, still smiling, but her purple eyes gleamed with a dangerous light.
Ivan swallowed hard. He had almost forgotten about that. He quickly explained, "Mom, you can’t blame me! A lot of things happened at school this year, and I was too busy to come back. I also had to study advanced spells, play Quidditch, and brew Potions."
Ivan counted off the tasks on his fingers, then added in confusion, "Wait, didn’t I ask Mark to send you a letter?"
Aisha reached out and flicked his forehead, saying, "Your owl flies too slowly. I only saw it when I got home from the station on Christmas Day!"
Ivan’s face showed a hint of frustration. He had been busy looking for the lost diary, so he only remembered to send the letter on Christmas Day when he noticed how few people were left at the school.
"Where’s your owl?" Aisha looked at Ivan’s luggage, not seeing Mark’s presence.
"I was just annoyed by how slow it flies, so I got rid of it. I plan to get a faster owl", Ivan said offhandedly. Aisha’s face clearly showed disbelief, so Ivan shrugged and continued, "Alright, Mark is actually helping me transport Potion ingredients."
Before Aisha could think too much about it, Ivan excitedly changed the subject.
"By the way, you might not believe this, but I earned over ten thousand Galleons this year!"
