Chapter 314: The Wretched Aurors (Second Update)
Chapter 314: The Wretched Aurors (Second Update)
"Captain, aren't we going inside?"
Outside the door of the Hogwarts Express, a young Auror asked an older Auror.
The older Auror glanced at the young Auror with a wand in hand and replied calmly:
"Why go inside? If Sirius Black isn't hiding on the train, it doesn't matter whether we go in or not. If he is indeed hiding here, going inside might alert him, leading to a fight. If we accidentally hurt the students inside, that would be a big problem.
Right now, let the Dementors search the train. Once Sirius Black is discovered, he'll surely try to escape. We just need to guard the outside and wait for him to come out so we can surround and capture him."
"But what if we conduct this sudden inspection without notifying Headmaster Dumbledore? Won't the headmaster be upset?"
The young Auror had only graduated a year ago and still felt uneasy about the Captain's lack of respect for Headmaster Dumbledore.
However, the older Auror kicked the young Auror in the rear:
"As Aurors, we serve the Ministry of Magic and follow Minister Fudge's orders. This is to ensure we can conduct a surprise search without alerting Sirius Black, allowing us to cast the Anti-Disapparition Jinx in advance.
Just do your job and stop asking so many questions!"
You're still too young. Dumbledore is certainly worthy of respect, but in reality, you need to survive, earn money, and climb the ranks. Can Dumbledore help you with that?
"But Captain—"
The young Auror rubbed his sore bottom and was about to speak again when he saw the Captain lifting his leg. He quickly jumped back and pointed to the rear of the train:
"Captain, I mean, there's movement over there!"
"Everyone, gather at the rear of the train. Sirius Black might have been discovered!"
Hearing the Dementors' screams and the unmistakable aura of the Patronus Charm from the rear of the train, the Auror Captain immediately ordered the dozen or so Aurors surrounding the area to gather at the rear.
They needed to prevent Sirius Black from using the Patronus Charm to repel the Dementors and then jump from the train to escape.
However, something unexpected happened.
After a while, they didn't see Sirius Black jumping out the window. Instead, the aura of the Patronus Charm began moving from the rear of the train toward the front.
And with each movement, they could hear the agonized cries of a Dementor, as if Sirius Black was using the Patronus Charm to defeat the Dementors one by one.
"Truly impressive, to have escaped from Azkaban and wield such a powerful Patronus Charm!"
The older Auror Captain marveled inwardly, becoming even more cautious.
However, he wasn't intimidated. No matter how powerful the Patronus Charm was, it only affected Dementors, not them. They had a dozen elite Aurors.
"Everyone, gather at the front of the train. He might try to escape from there."
Following the Captain's orders, the dozen Aurors gathered at the front of the train, wands at the ready.
They planned to use their most powerful spells the moment Sirius Black stepped out of the train.
"Petrify!"
"Stupefy!"
"Expelliarmus!"
"Shatter!"
"Are you that nervous? You're attacking without even seeing who it is?"
Jerry had just stepped out of the train when he saw a dozen Witches casting various spells at him. He couldn't help but grimace.
It seemed that while the Aurors outwardly looked down on Sirius Black, they were actually very wary of him, fearing that a delayed attack might result in injury. Otherwise, they wouldn't have attacked without verifying his identity.
Over the years, Azkaban has held many vicious Dark Witches, but Sirius Black is the first to ever escape.
"Shield Armor!"
With a wave of Jerry's wand, the improved Iron Armor Spell was cast.
This version of the Iron Armor Spell, which combined elements of a shield, greatly enhanced its defensive capabilities. Even the combined magical attacks from a dozen elite Aurors failed to make a dent.
"Take them down first!"
Jerry raised his left hand and pointed forward. The Patronus behind him immediately transformed from the nearly defeated Dementors back into Giant form and charged toward the Aurors.
"What's happening?"
The Aurors were stunned to see their dozen magical attacks deflected by a single Iron Armor Spell.
The Iron Armor Spell, as a high-level defensive spell, can indeed block most magical attacks, but it has its limits. It can easily block spells from Witches of similar strength, but if the power gap is too wide, it won't hold. For example, if Headmaster Dumbledore cast a spell, an average Witch's Iron Armor Spell would struggle to block it.
Similarly, when a dozen Witches gang up on one, the Iron Armor Spell would typically fail unless the target's strength is significantly greater.
However, each Auror is an elite in the Wizarding world.
Before they could recover from their shock, a massive Patronus in the form of a Giant descended from the sky and attacked them, leaving them even more bewildered.
According to the records, Sirius Black's Patronus should be a dog, not a Giant.
But they had no time to ponder this. Since they were under attack, they needed to counter immediately and not just stand there taking hits.
So, the dozen Aurors immediately began casting spells, aiming at the Patronus.
These Aurors were indeed exceptional Witches. Their wand movements and the strength of their spells far surpassed those of Hogwarts students.
However, it was all for naught!
Andros the Invincible was unmatched in his time because his Patronus was a Giant. The power of a Giant Patronus was now being demonstrated perfectly.
The massive form of the Patronus made the Aurors' spells feel like mere scratches. Even when a small hole appeared, it quickly healed.
With a casual swing of its arm, the Patronus effortlessly shattered the Aurors' defensive spells and swatted them away like flies.
In less than a minute, all the Aurors were sent flying by Jerry's Giant Patronus, drawing arcs in the air before crashing to the ground.
If not for the extraordinary resilience and robust health of Witches, they would have suffered severe fractures and heavy bleeding.
Jerry took the fifteen wands, now shrunk to normal size, from the Patronus and elegantly approached the Aurors, who were struggling to get up while clutching their waists, arms, and legs.
"Speak, who are you, and why did you attack us? What is your purpose?"
The Aurors: "What?"
Aren't you the one attacking us?
