### Chapter 314: Reversing Time! [For Patron Ye Kaiwen, 110]
"Is it very dangerous?" Hermione pursed her lips.
"Yes!" Ivan nodded.
"Then you shouldn't go alone. At least I can be of some help, and—"
Hermione was about to say more, but Ivan didn’t give her the chance.
A flash of white light, and the young witch slumped onto the chair, the book in her hand falling to the floor.
Ivan tapped the chair, turning it into a large sofa so Hermione could lie down more comfortably. He apologized, saying, "Sorry, go back to sleep!"
Ivan took the Time Turner from Hermione’s tightly clenched hand and found a more open place to begin his plan.
He needed to go back one hundred days!
That meant he needed to turn the Time Turner over two thousand four hundred times!
During this period, there must be no mistakes!
If he turned it too few times, he would miss the time when the Dark Magic Shop was attacked. If he turned it too many times, he might not have enough time to wait for the attack to happen, and his time would run out.
So, Ivan decided to go back twelve hours before Aisha was attacked!
This would give him enough time to prepare and reduce the risk of being sent back to his original time point within those twelve hours.
However, looking at the Time Turner glowing with magical light in his hand, Ivan was unsure if it could handle so many turns.
But given the circumstances, Ivan believed he had to try. There wasn’t much time left. Each day he waited in Hogwarts, he would have to turn the Time Turner twenty-four more times.
Today might be the best opportunity!
With this thought, Ivan no longer hesitated. He put on the Time Turner and began to spin the hourglass.
One turn, two turns
The surroundings froze and then rapidly moved backward as the hourglass spun, everything seeming to recede.
Ivan focused all his attention on the hourglass, silently counting the turns.
From one to a hundred, then to a thousand
To avoid counting wrong, Ivan tried to slow down the spinning.
After an unknown amount of time, Ivan felt his senses and thoughts affected to varying degrees. After one more turn, Ivan finally stopped.
Everything around him returned to normal. Ivan glanced at the Time Turner, relieved to see it hadn’t broken.
Ivan went to the window in the corridor and looked down. It was just dawn, but it was already quite lively outside.
This confirmed that Ivan had arrived at the right time.
After all, it was the end of the term, and the young wizards were preparing to go home, so they naturally liked to wander around outside early in the morning.
"Dobby!" Ivan snapped his fingers instinctively, preparing to have Dobby take him to Knockturn Alley.
But nothing happened.
Ivan suddenly remembered that Dobby was helping him sell snake fangs and Potions and wasn’t at Hogwarts, so he couldn’t provide any help.
"I should have had Dobby take me to Knockturn Alley first before using the Time Turner!" Ivan shook his head, regretting his oversight.
Although he could Apparate, his spell level wasn’t high enough after just a short practice. Apparating directly from Hogsmeade to Knockturn Alley would consume at least eighty to ninety percent of his magic.
If possible, Ivan wanted to ensure he had sufficient magic to deal with any potential battles.
Fortunately, it was still early. Ivan put on his Invisibility Cloak and prepared to go to the Forbidden Forest to see if he could catch a Thestral to ride to London.
With the help of the Invisibility Cloak, Ivan moved through Hogwarts easily, as if no one was around. He only took it off once he entered the Forbidden Forest.
However, during the search for a Thestral, Ivan encountered some trouble. After wandering through half of the Forbidden Forest, he didn’t find a single Thestral.
Could it be that all the Thestrals were assigned to pull carriages, with not a single wild one left?
Ivan felt a bit helpless and was about to try another approach when a clear eagle cry sounded from a distance.
Curious, Ivan turned his head. A Hippogriff with reddish-brown feathers was gnawing on the remains of a torn animal, clearly having just completed a hunt.
Perhaps sensing Ivan’s gaze, the reddish-brown Hippogriff tore off a large piece of meat and swallowed it, then turned its head to stare at Ivan with a pair of orange-yellow eyes, emitting a series of uneasy cries.
It was no longer the docile creature from their last encounter.
Or perhaps this was their true first meeting!
Ivan had a moment of realization and recalled the steps Hagrid had taught him for taming a Hippogriff. He stared directly into its eyes and took a few tentative steps closer.
The reddish-brown giant creature let out a cry, its eyes scrutinizing the young wizard, showing some agitation.
It could sense that Ivan was very dangerous, but its pride wouldn’t let it back down. Instead, it restlessly scratched the ground with its claws.
Ivan realized this and stopped advancing, instead bowing slightly as a gesture.
The reddish-brown giant hesitated, not responding.
But when Ivan took another step closer, the Hippogriff finally yielded, slowly bending its scaly front knee into a clear bow.
Ivan reached out to touch the creature’s large head. This time, the Hippogriff didn’t resist, allowing Ivan to stroke it.
"Here, drink this. The journey will be long, so you need to be prepared!" Ivan took a bottle of Vigor Potion from his robes and held it to the creature’s mouth.
The Hippogriff’s trust in Ivan was limited, but it still took a small sip. Its orange-yellow eyes brightened, and it let out a clear, cheerful cry, drinking the entire Potion!
Ivan put on the Invisibility Cloak and climbed onto the Hippogriff’s back. After a moment’s thought, he drew his wand and cast the Disillusionment Charm on the creature.
Instantly, the beautiful reddish-brown giant vanished from Ivan’s sight.
"Feels like I’m riding on air", Ivan couldn’t help but comment, then directed the Hippogriff to take off!
The giant creature spread its twelve-foot wings and flapped powerfully, sending dust flying in all directions as it soared into the sky.
Despite the lack of reins, Ivan sat steadily, finding it much easier than riding Norbert.
"Go! Do you see the railway tracks in the distance? Follow them to the end! Try to be as fast as possible!" Ivan patted the Hippogriff’s neck, giving it directions.
