Chapter 312: Ascending Tower Chronicles (12)
Chapter 312: Ascending Tower Chronicles (12)
“Oh~ So you’re Wolf Grandma.” Feng Bu Jue’s expression seemed to say, “Now I get it.”
“What grandma? I’m male,” the werewolf actually corrected him.
“Oh… Big Bad Wolf, then.” Feng Bu Jue tried again.
The werewolf snorted coldly, “Ridiculous prejudice. How could there even be a name like ‘Big Bad Wolf’? Would your mother name you ‘Standing Alone Person’?”
“Oh… Grey Wolf.” Feng Bu Jue offered another attempt.
“Stop messing with me! I’m not a wolf! I’m a werewolf!” the werewolf snapped.
“Don’t werewolves only transform during Full Moon Night and stay human otherwise?” Feng Bu Jue asked.
“I was born in permanent transformation. Got a problem with that?” the werewolf retorted.
“Oh… So you’re one of those super werewolves whose combat power hits Gundam10000 right from birth?” Feng Bu Jue declared solemnly.
“Are you talking about Broly…?” Qiu Feng muttered beside him.
“You woke me up, then spout nonsense… How arrogant.” The werewolf’s eyes flashed with menace. “Are you fearless enough to be eaten?”
“There’s a corpse not far from the castle grounds—still warm. If you’re craving human meat, I’d recommend that.” Feng Bu Jue immediately replied.
“So you’re just selling Don Quixote out like that…” Ji Chang twitched his lips.
“If you prefer freshly killed, there’s a little boy nearby named Jack. Lives with a cow and his still-attractive single mother. Do whatever you like with them.” Feng Bu Jue added.
Hong Hu was stunned: “Feng Bu Jue… I think the wolf’s kinder than you.”
“If you’re into rarer delicacies…” Feng Bu Jue kept pushing, “there’s a dead lion in a cellar beneath a windmill.”
The werewolf stared blankly, then tried one more time to look fierce: “I want to eat little girls!”
Feng Bu Jue remained calm. “Funny you should mention it… There’s a loli next to the lion’s corpse. She’s been dead a while, but not putrid yet. If you’ve got… special tastes…”
“Hey!” Qiu Feng quickly interrupted. “Feng Bu Jue, have some self-respect!”
Sighing deeply, the werewolf looked dejected. “Am I really a werewolf without intimidation?”
“No… I think that’s not your problem,” Hong Hu said.
But the werewolf seemed not to hear. He muttered, “I should’ve stayed quietly in my forest homeland. Eating rabbits, deer, insects, wild fruits… Why did I ever come out hunting humans? Now I’m like this—kept as a pet, forced to wear this pink bathrobe…”
“Er… Mr. Werewolf, may I ask who’s keeping you as a pet?” Ji Chang cautiously asked. “A giant?”
“What giant? Where’s a giant?” the werewolf countered.
“So you mean…” Ji Chang pressed.
“Little Red Riding Hood!” the werewolf replied.
“Hmm…” The four players fell into thought.
“That little girl… a demon incarnate.” The werewolf’s voice trembled with fear and pain. His tall frame shook. “Beneath that petite physique and innocent face hides transcendent agility, sage-level combat intuition, and cruel bloodlust… Her combat techniques are pinnacle mastery, flawless. Except for the Boss, no one in this space can rival her.”
“The Boss?” Hong Hu asked sharply. “You mean the Boss of the Reasoning Club?”
“Of course! Is there another Boss here?”
“Mr. Werewolf, I’m truly compassionate about your plight,” Feng Bu Jue interjected. “We’re heading to the Reasoning Club to meet the Boss. If you can tell us how to get there, maybe I can plead your case—get Little Red Riding Hood to release you.”
“The Boss is on the Seventh Floor,” the werewolf replied, pointing a clawed hand at a door across the room. “To get there, exit through that door, follow the corridor to the end, turn left upward—that’s the castle’s attic. There’s a skylight with a ladder leading to the Fifth Floor. What’s beyond that, I don’t know.”
“Er… You seem free enough. Why not escape?” Qiu Feng asked.
“I’ve tried climbing that ladder, but the door to the fifth floor’s too narrow. I can’t squeeze through.” He paused. “Also, my home’s on the land beneath the castle. But the castle’s built on clouds—I can’t just jump down.”
“We climbed up using Magic Beans,” Qiu Feng said. “You could use the Beanstalk to descend now.”
“Really?!” The werewolf’s eyes lit up. “Where? Show me!” He rushed over, grabbed Qiu Feng’s arm, and dragged him toward the window.
The werewolf moved fast and strong. Before Qiu Feng could react, he was yanked across the room. What alarmed him was that this non-hostile action alone drained 10% of his vitality value.
“If this guy were a hostile monster, he’d be mini-boss tier…” Feng Bu Jue muttered to Ji Chang and Hong Hu.
“Just thinking about how you provoked him earlier gives me cold sweats…” Hong Hu replied.
“There—see that? Pretty obvious,” Qiu Feng stammered, pointing nervously. Close-range combat would mean instant death if the werewolf attacked.
“Hahaha!” The werewolf laughed, briefly. Then his face darkened. “No time to waste! Gotta hurry—Little Red Riding Hood might cut the Beanstalk if she returns.” He glanced back. “Thanks. Take care!” Then he leapt out the window, bounding across the castle’s sloped exterior, landing with cushioned leaps.
The four gathered at the window, watching the werewolf hit the cloud layer, sprinting on all fours toward the distant Beanstalk, bathrobe and cap flapping.
“A Wolf Grandma terrified of Little Red Riding Hood…” Hong Hu mused as the werewolf vanished into freedom.
“Wait—he just said Little Red Riding Hood would return?” Ji Chang reminded.
“I wonder how she left the cloud layer,” Feng Bu Jue mused. “Flight Technique?”
“Can we stop referencing Dragon Ball?” Qiu Feng groaned.
“Fine.” Feng Bu Jue agreed flatly, then immediately added, “Unless one of her elves mastered flight magic?”
Qiu Feng slumped, facepalming. “Let’s just talk about Dragon Ball’s rules instead…”
