Chapter 311: Return
Chapter 311: Return (Requesting Monthly Vote)
When the topic of the Global Freshman Competition arose, everyone’s expressions shifted in their own way.
Wan Ming raised his voice again:
“This competition gathers all freshman martial artists from every Martial Arts University across the world.”
“Our Xia Kingdom stands as the strongest nation on Blue Planet, and our Azure Firmament Martial Academy is the pinnacle of all its universities.”
“I’ve checked the records—except for a few exceptions, most championships have gone to our Azure Firmament representatives.”
“This year’s Global Freshman Competition will be no different!”
His words drew immediate agreement. It was simply the truth.
Yu Zhuoran suddenly added, “This championship is already ours!”
Pei Jiu grinned, chiming in:
“Not just the title—many of us will storm the finals and semi-finals.”
“Most of the top 32 and 64 slots will belong to our Xia Kingdom, or better yet, our academy.”
Lin Qi nodded along with the others. This was the confidence of the strongest martial university in Xia.
Before the competition had even begun, they’d already claimed victory.
Of course, Lin Qi had no doubts about Xia’s dominance. As for who would take the championship title, that was a matter for Azure Firmament’s internal rivalry.
“So let’s toast!” Wan Ming declared, raising his glass. “May you all bring glory to the Global Freshman Competition and strike the other nations with the might of our Azure Firmament!”
“Cheers!”
“Clang!”
Glasses clinked together—full of wine or soda—then drained in one go.
As they sat back to chat and feast, their camaraderie deepened naturally.
Lin Qi nodded approvingly. Everyone usually trained separately, but events like this party truly bonded them.
An hour later…
Most had left, and half the food was devoured.
The table was cleared, leaving only Lin Qi, Wan Ming, Pei Jiu, and a few others—Huo Wanyang among them.
“Gurgle~”
They began sizzling meats and vegetables in a bubbling hotpot of red chili oil.
Wan Ming’s face flushed from drinking as he sighed, “Pity we haven’t stepped into the Wilderness Zone since arriving in Otherworld.”
“I’d love to explore it with everyone, hunting Heavenly Treasures.”
Xia Lian scoffed, “Forget it. Without breaking into the sixth realm, we’re not surviving the wilds.”
“Who knows what dangers lurk? Watch out for Vermin Race assassins!”
Pei Jiu nodded. “My family warned me too. The Vermin Race sends their elite warriors to hunt our awakened prodigies.”
“They’re not just stronger than ordinary humans—they’ve awakened Special Abilities.”
“We’d be outmatched. Many young talents have already fallen to them.”
His words drew nods from the group.
Lin Qi recalled the assassin who’d targeted him during Spring Festival. That foe had been a mere modified martial artist, yet far stronger than peers in the same realm.
What of true Vermin warriors? He’d never even seen one—their power must be terrifying.
…
April 22nd
At the landing port, a sleek crimson fighter jet stood ready.
I Wei, the teacher with sharp features, stood on the tarmac. The wind whipping his face, he waved to the group inside the cockpit.
“Boom!!”
The Falcon Fighter roared skyward, vanishing into the horizon.
“Time flies. A month has passed in the blink of an eye.”
“But what an experience! Such a genius like Lin Qi…”
“I wonder how far he’ll rise?”
“The more such prodigies we have, the better our chances of victory in this endless war.”
I Wei murmured, lost in thought.
…
On Blue Planet, at Azure Firmament’s Six Colleges dormitory plaza…
April’s sun warmed the air as a crowd gathered in the open square.
“Brother Tao,” a girl with an approachable, neighborly charm asked Jiang Tao, the group’s center. “Headmaster has been in Otherworld a month. Do you think he’s grown stronger?”
“What if the Ten Institute geniuses gang up on him?”
Jiang Tao, tall and dark-skinned, gazed at the sky confidently. “With Brother Qi’s talent, he’ll dominate even the Ten Institute. Who dares touch him?”
The group nodded.
Jiang Tao privately pondered, trusting Lin Qi’s innate gifts.
But the Ten Institute’s talents had awakened Special Abilities.
In a real battle, Brother Qi’s lack of such powers put him at a disadvantage.
“Don’t worry,” Guo Heng suddenly interjected. “Brother Qi’s thriving there.”
“He’s unstoppable! My sister said he defeated Xiang Long—the third-ranked in Ten Institute!”
The crowd gasped.
“In their match, Xiang Long couldn’t use Special Abilities, and Brother Qi held back his Minor Divine Ability.”
“He lost.”
“Now all Azure Firmament’s geniuses in Ten Institute know this!”
Stunned silence.
The girl breathed, “So Brother Qi’s already top three in Ten Institute? Truly our Headmaster!”
Guo Heng shook his head, recalling his shock. His sister Guo Yi had been equally amazed, her voice trembling with disbelief.
"Lucky he was born under a lucky star to make such a friend!"
“Here he comes!” Li Zhou suddenly shouted, pointing skyward.
A crimson speck grew rapidly, resolving into a red flying saucer-shaped fighter jet.
“Boom!!”
The jet decelerated, landing with a rumble.
“Vroom!”
The cabin hatch hissed open, revealing a towering figure stepping into the light.
“Brother Qi, welcome back!”
“Headmaster!”
Seeing Lin Qi, the crowd erupted in cheers, even firing a salute. The air buzzed with excitement.
Lin Qi descended slowly, his overwhelming aura sweeping toward Jiang Tao and the others.
Jiang Tao shuddered—This pressure… Brother Qi’s grown even stronger!
For a moment, he imagined a colossal platinum-white tiger, a hundred meters long, radiating bloodthirsty power.
Lin Qi smiled, greeting them. “Long time no see!”
As smart robots unloaded his luggage, several rushed to carry it.
“Let’s call it a day, everyone!” Lin Qi said. The crowd dispersed, leaving a dozen close friends trailing him to his Villa 01.
“Let’s eat,” he offered. “Tell me what’s happened at school.”
Jiang Tao nodded. “I’ll order—Brother Qi’s treating!”
“Thanks, Brother Qi!” they chorused.
Minutes later, nutritious meals arrived. They gathered in the living room, feasting and chatting.
Jiang Tao briefly summarized the academy’s mundane happenings.
Then it was Lin Qi’s turn to speak…
