Chapter 310: A Day in Gryffindor
Chapter 310: A Day in Gryffindor
"The most important thing in Transfiguration is to have a strong belief, and also to have a thorough understanding of your target."
In the Room of Requirement, Kyle transformed a table into a half-meter-tall miniature statue and controlled it to cut an apple in front of it in half.
Not far away, Hermione took notes on Kyle's words, even making notes...
In fact, Kyle originally wanted to go to the flower garden to check on the Venomous Tentacles, but he couldn't say that in front of Hermione, so he made up an excuse to practice Transfiguration.
But Kyle forgot that Hermione, unlike Harry and Ron, was a studious student with a strong curiosity.
Hermione had already witnessed Kyle's abilities in Transfiguration at the Dueling Club.
This was also the first time Hermione directly realized how big the gap between her and Kyle truly was.
Perhaps out of curiosity or concern that Kyle would discover their Polyjuice Potion secret, Hermione immediately expressed her desire to join him and observe from the side.
Her attitude was very sincere.
Kyle was stunned, but to avoid suspicion, he had no choice but to agree to Hermione's request.
And so, he ended up in an empty room, forced to practice Transfiguration for half an hour.
"It's not as difficult as you think."
Kyle picked up the half-apple from the ground, took a bite, and handed the other half to Hermione.
"I suggest you pay more attention to the objects around you and deeply understand their specific structures... Of course, I'm not talking about observing with your eyes but with your magical power."
Hermione also took a bite of the apple and said thoughtfully, "Like the statues you transformed?"
"Something simpler, like an apple, a table, or even a slipper, will do."
Kyle shook his head. "Those statues are a type of Magical Construct, and they even involve Ancient Alchemy. It's challenging to analyze their structures with magic... At least, I can't do it yet."
"In fact, I didn't transform them into statues but into armor that resembles statues."
After Kyle's reminder, Hermione realized that the half-meter-tall "statue" indeed had many armor-like gaps, well-hidden, making them difficult to notice without careful observation.
"Did you learn all this from the Dueling Club?"
Hermione asked, "I heard from Fred and George that you joined Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration Club. What's it like... and is it related to the Dueling Club?"
"The number of people is much smaller, and it's only for students in third grade and above. Professor McGonagall teaches a lot of things beyond the exam scope, so it's like an advanced class for Transfiguration."
Kyle explained, "As for the rest, I can't say too much, or it would be considered giving away the answers, which Professor McGonagall doesn't allow."
Hermione looked a bit disappointed.
"I'm going back," Kyle said as he tidied up his things briefly and asked, "Do you want to stay here longer?"
"No," Hermione shook her head. "Harry, Ron, and I agreed to work on our homework together today."
The two left the Room of Requirement together.
Kyle had intended to return after Hermione left, but just as he reached the stairs, he ran into Fred and George.
Each of them was carrying a large amount of food, presumably from the kitchen.
"Kyle, what are you doing here!"
Fred exclaimed in surprise, "We went to the Hufflepuff Common Room entrance to look for you."
"And we got drenched in vinegar!" George wrinkled his nose. "That feeling was terrible; I didn't like this Christmas present at all."
Both of them had a faint sour smell, but their clothes and hair were dry, indicating they had used a spell to clean themselves earlier.
"Perfect timing, come with us."
"Christmas is more fun when we're all together!"
The two of them flanked Kyle, each taking an arm and leading him forward.
The Gryffindor Common Room was also located on the eighth floor, not far away. Soon, they arrived in front of a large portrait.
The portrait depicted a plump lady with a kind and amiable expression.
"Password," she said.
"Celestial Melody," they replied.
"Thank you for the compliment..." The Fat Lady happily opened the passage.
"What did she say just now?" Kyle asked in confusion.
"The Fat Lady loves to sing," Fred explained, "but she's clearly not gifted in that area."
"So, she changed the password to this," George laughed. "Every time we return, it's like we're praising her singing."
"Never mind that, Kyle."
Fred took the lead, stepping through the passage and spreading his arms wide as he laughed, "Welcome to the Gryffindor Common Room!"
Normally, students were not allowed to visit other houses, but it was the holidays... No one would mind.
George pushed Kyle inside.
It was a bright, circular room with a predominantly red theme. The ceiling was high, and the room was surrounded by soft, cushioned armchairs.

"How do you like it?" Fred asked with a smile.
"It's great," Kyle said, "but it's a bit smaller than I imagined."
"Is the Hufflepuff Common Room big?" Hermione asked curiously as she entered last.
Kyle nodded, "Yes, it's quite a bit larger, but the ceiling is lower."
"Well, it's in a different location," George said, taking a seat in one of the armchairs.
They were aware that the area below was dedicated to the kitchen and the Hufflepuff Common Room, so it made sense for it to be a bit larger.
Hermione nodded, unconcerned.
She surveyed the surroundings and asked, "Where are Harry and Ron?"
"I don't know. They're probably still asleep," Fred said. "I think they plan to sleep until noon."
"Oh, that's not good! We still have a lot of homework to do."
Hermione frowned and rushed into the boys' dormitory, full of energy.
"I think Ron wouldn't want to do homework on the first day of the holidays," George said.
He handed Kyle a sandwich, "By the way, Kyle, we've looked into what you told us."
"What?"
George took a bite of his sandwich, "Remember when you mentioned that the Chamber of Secrets Heir's actions would definitely change from before?"
Kyle nodded.
He recalled that during their casual conversation, he had indeed said that casually, but he never expected Fred and George to specifically investigate it...
"Did you find out who it is?" Kyle asked.
"No... or it might be impossible to find out."
Fred sighed.
"There have been three attacks in the castle, and due to the panic, almost everyone is acting differently from usual... It can't be that they're all the Chamber of Secrets Heir, right?"
"Like Ron..." George glanced towards the dormitory, "He almost never goes to the library except to do homework..."
"But recently, he's been rushing there after class until curfew."
"I even suspect Ron is under the Imperius Curse."
"Shut up, Fred!"
At that moment, Ron entered the Common Room, rubbing his eyes. He sat down in an armchair and said irritably, "If you were the one suspected of opening the Chamber of Secrets, you'd go to the library too... At least no one would be staring at you with strange looks."
