Chapter 308: Sealed Soul Fragment (Second Update)
Chapter 308: Sealed Soul Fragment (Second Update)
"Harry, you've grown quite a bit, haven't you!"
On the second floor of the Leaky Cauldron, Jerry patted Harry on the shoulder.
Harry was now thirteen, having just turned that age a month ago. He had grown to a height of 1.66 meters, and just from his appearance, it was clear he had matured a lot.
This was quite normal, as Europeans and Americans tend to mature earlier. Some teenagers even start experimenting at thirteen or fourteen, which Harry had witnessed firsthand during his middle school days in New York.
"You should be the one saying that!"
Harry glanced at Jerry, who was 1.8 meters tall and had already lost all traces of childhood innocence. He couldn't help but roll his eyes.
They were about the same age, yet Jerry had grown so much faster. It was frustrating enough that Jerry outperformed him academically, but now even in height, he couldn't catch up. It was truly disheartening.
When you're young, you always want to grow up quickly to appear more mature and adult-like. But as you get older, you wish you could grow more slowly to stay young. That's the paradox of life.
"Ha ha ha, maybe I just grew faster!"
Jerry laughed at Harry's envious look. There was no helping it; his current body was that of a European, and he was already sixteen years old.
"By the way, I heard from Ron that you inflated your aunt?"
Faced with Jerry's teasing tone, Harry blushed and said:
"Ron found out? I didn't mean to. She was insulting my parents."
"Did you forget? Ron's father works at the Ministry of Magic. And you're not wrong. If it were me, I might have given her a 'big watermelon'!"
Jerry shrugged.
Harry's aunt, to be precise, was his uncle's sister, and they didn't even share blood relations.
"What's a 'big watermelon'?"
Harry looked puzzled.
Jerry paused, realizing Harry didn't know the reference, and quickly changed his words with a smile:
"A type of punishment magic I saw while traveling in Greece."
"Jerry, I really envy you. You got to travel to Greece during the summer, while I had to stay at that awful aunt's house. Can you tell me about your trip to Greece?"
Harry's face lit up with envy when Jerry mentioned Greece.
Ron had spent the summer in Egypt with his family, and Hermione had gone to France. Even Jerry, who, like Harry, had no parents, had traveled to Greece alone. Harry, on the other hand, couldn't go anywhere.
It was only because he had inflated Aunt Marge that he got to spend a month freely in Diagon Alley.
"Don't worry, you'll soon be free from your misery, because you're about to meet a godfather who loves you and is wealthy and owns a mansion!"
Jerry smiled at Harry and nodded in response:
"Of course!"
Thus, Jerry began to recount the unique Greek style of the Ministry of Magic, the various buildings, and the two Spartan stone statues at the entrance to the magic street, among other interesting things.
At midnight, Jerry closed his magic book, which was nearing completion, titled The Theory of Air Magic and Flying Spells. He then used a Disguise Charm to become invisible and instantly teleported to the room where Harry had been earlier.
Harry was lying in bed with his eyes closed and a furrowed brow, seemingly in the midst of a dream, completely unaware of Jerry's arrival.
"Stupefy!"
To be safe, Jerry cast a Stunning Spell on Harry as soon as he reached the bed, to prevent any sudden movements or noises from waking him.
Don't misunderstand; Jerry didn't come in the middle of the night to use magic to knock Harry out for any nefarious reasons. He was not that twisted.
It was all for the sake of secretly extracting the soul fragment of Voldemort hidden within Harry and sealing it, in order to earn another wave of red stars.
Back when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, the rebound of Lily's protective spell caused Voldemort to be killed by his own Killing Curse, resulting in a fragment of Voldemort's soul attaching itself to Harry.
This led to Harry possessing the characteristics of a Horcrux, making him a pseudo-Horcrux.
"Soul Extraction!"
Placing his hand on Harry's forehead at the lightning bolt scar, Jerry yanked forcefully, and a soul fragment of Voldemort filled with screams and dark power was forcibly pulled out.
"Sealing!"
Before the soul fragment could do anything, Jerry took out the Matryoshka Doll he had prepared in advance and used a Sealing Spell to imprison it in the third layer.
Even when Voldemort's main soul and the soul fragments worked together, they were no match for Jerry. A mere soul fragment was even less of a challenge.
"Excellent, another five thousand!"
With a wave of his hand, earning five thousand red stars, Jerry teleported back to his room, satisfied, and began practicing the Meditation Technique.
His Magic level was already quite high, and with a bit more effort, he was about to break through the 300-level barrier, achieving the basic level of Eternal Life.
Therefore, he now ensured that he spent at least seven hours each night practicing the Meditation Technique.
The next morning, at the Leaky Cauldron.
"Jerry, I don't know why, but I feel particularly good today, an indescribable kind of good, like something that has been weighing me down for years has suddenly disappeared!"
Harry, eating the grilled sausages and fried eggs that the Leaky Cauldron's owner, Tom, had prepared in advance, looked filled with joy.
In the past, he often had inexplicable nightmares and always felt his mind was clouded, as if something was pressing down on it. Over the years, he had grown somewhat accustomed to it.
However, last night, he slept exceptionally well, better than ever before. When he woke up in the morning, he suddenly felt that the burden that had been weighing him down for years had vanished.
Jerry smiled at Harry's words but didn't say much, instead finishing the last sausage on his plate and elegantly wiping his mouth with a napkin.
He enjoyed doing these win-win things the most.
An hour later.
"Hey, Harry, Jerry!"
A familiar shout echoed through the bar, and Jerry and Harry turned to look toward the fireplace.
It was Ron, waving excitedly as he stepped out of the Leaky Cauldron's fireplace, followed by Ginny, the Weasley twins, Percy, and the Weasleys.
After a summer, Ron had grown taller, now standing at nearly 1.7 meters, a bit taller than Harry, though he was still quite slender.
At the same time, the bell at the Leaky Cauldron's entrance chimed, and the wooden door opened, revealing Hermione and her parents.
"Jerry!"
Seeing Jerry standing at the entrance of the bar, Hermione let out a cry of surprise and, holding Crookshanks in her arms, ran over to Jerry with a sense of youthful energy.
Hermione, who would be fourteen in twenty days, stood at 1.59 meters, wearing a tight-knit sweater and jeans. As she ran toward Jerry, he felt a wave of youthful charm.
