Chapter 307: The Ally of the Evil Dragon
Soon, under the Red Dragon’s command, the so-called “allies” were summoned one by one into the hall.
Kai Xiusu was certain he had never seen them before.
At the front stood a noblewoman in her late twenties, her black hair cascading like a waterfall, adorned with a silver circlet. She wore a luxurious silk long robe, her chest boldly exposed, revealing a vast expanse of snow-white skin. With effortless grace, she stepped across the threshold, holding a black silk fan that partially veiled her delicate face—only the faint hint of blue beneath her eyes suggested the effect of makeup. But Kai Xiusu’s keen senses immediately detected the truth: the silver circlet bore a subtle, faintly blue dragon horn; the smoothness of her skin concealed faint, scaled patterns; and beneath her lashes, her pupils were vertically slit—distinctive of desert-born dragons. The faint, dry scent of the arid wastes confirmed his suspicion.
Without hesitation, he spoke:
“Blue Dragon?”
The noblewoman lifted her gaze toward the Red Dragon, who lay sprawled upon the throne. Her mouth parted slightly, eyes wide with shock and awe.
She quickly raised her fan to cover her lips, her smile sultry, her gaze dripping with allure, before gracefully lifting her skirt with one hand and bowing deeply.
“Honor to Your Highness, ‘Dragon Prince’—your majestic form truly takes my breath away.”
“Indeed, you’re correct,” she said softly, still catching her breath. “I am Christina Farias, of the Brenden Desert, a Blue Dragon.”
She inclined her head politely, yet her eyes flickered toward the throne with a stealthy glance, her breathing growing increasingly urgent.
“By Tiamat’s name… he is even larger, stronger than legend claims. And this… is but a young dragon?”
Her heart raced with exhilaration. She had heard tales of the Red Dragon’s rise in the Prime Material Plane—rumors of a fearsome, powerful beast dwelling in the barren lands of Anzeta. It was said his blood carried the divine essence of Tiamat himself, and that even in youth, his size rivaled that of an Ancient Dragon. Some scholars had dubbed him the “Dragon Prince,” though others questioned the title.
But now, standing before the beast in person, all her doubts vanished. Even with her experience level artificially inflated, the Red Dragon before her surpassed every expectation. The primordial aura of bloodline was undeniable. The thirty-meter-long, mountain-like frame was impossible to ignore.
“Surely this is Tiamat’s own bestowal. He is my future husband. Only such a being is worthy of me.”
She gazed at him openly, unashamed, lost in reverie.
This journey to Anzeta was not merely a mission from the Dragon Queen. It was also an opportunity—her chance to claim a divine reward.
Perhaps in gratitude for the Farias family’s long-standing loyalty, Tiamat had personally decreed that the ancestral bloodline of the Blue Dragon be bestowed upon them. A gift meant to produce stronger, more powerful heirs. And the way to receive this blessing? Send their most promising young Blue Dragon to unite with the legendary “Dragon Prince,” birthing a descendant imbued with sacred blood.
Upon receiving the divine edict, the entire Farias family had erupted in euphoria. Such generosity from the notoriously stingy Dragon Queen was like the sun rising from the west.
Yet, at the head of the palace, Kai Xiusu remained puzzled—unaware that he had been selected as a prize.
Why is this female Blue Dragon just standing there, staring?
What is she even here for?
And who the hell gave me that ridiculous nickname—“Dragon Prince”? If I ever find out, I’ll make sure to settle accounts when I reach the South.
He silently added it to his mental ledger, vowing to deal with it later.
But judging by the atmosphere, he could already guess her purpose.
All evil dragons paid reverence to Tiamat. Yet unlike the Red Dragon, who often obeyed only when it suited him, the Blue Dragons possessed a strong sense of order. They willingly acknowledged Tiamat’s supreme sovereignty and followed most of her reasonable commands without hesitation.
This Blue Dragon was undoubtedly a pawn—Tiamat’s subtle infiltration into his domain.
Pausing to reflect, Kai Xiusu stretched his wings slightly and probed again.
“Your arrival… was ordered by the Dragon Queen, wasn’t it?”
“You’re right again,” she replied with a smile. “But even without her command, I would have come. I’ve long admired your greatness. The tales and poems sung across the realms have spoken of you.”
“What poems?”
“The damned minstrel’s Song of Ashen Embers?”
Kai Xiusu chuckled. That troublemaker had long since been captured by “Nocturne” and was now spending his days in the dungeon—though his ridiculous ballad had already spread beyond the Northern Regions.
“Mortals’ opinions mean nothing to a noble dragon,” Christina replied with a coy smile. “Their crude verses could never even begin to capture the grandeur of your form.”
But Kai Xiusu remained expressionless, staring at her with cold, unreadable eyes—offering no response to her carefully crafted flattery.
Polite small talk ended quickly. Christina sensed his growing impatience. Her own demeanor shifted instantly, turning solemn.
“Kai Xiusu, Your Highness, I come bearing the Dragon Queen’s decree.”
“I know,” he said calmly, already expecting it.
She glanced at him briefly, noting the Red Dragon’s indifferent gaze. No wonder they call him the Dragon Prince—such authority that even a direct edict from the Queen seems routine.
“Mervold Clan’s elder, Oszedro—now an Ancient Silver Dragon, known as ‘Silver Wings’—has arrived in the Anzeta Great Wasteland.”
“He’s a meddlesome fool,” she continued. “He’s interfered with the Queen’s plans more than once. And he’s a spell hoarder—a strange, obsessive creature, capable of spellcasting rivaling that of a legendary mage. You must be cautious.”
“Oszedro…” Kai Xiusu murmured. “So he’s already here.”
He had already received intelligence from the Lutehand Alliance. He wasn’t surprised. He simply rubbed his chin, lost in thought.
After a moment of silence, he asked:
“So you came merely to deliver this warning?”
“Of course not, Kai Xiusu. I also bring goodwill from the Farias family. If that old Silver Dragon attacks, it would be Metal Dragons blocking the expansion of our Color Dragons. We will not yield a single inch of our survival space. It is the ancient desire of every Color Dragon.”
Kai Xiusu turned toward the palace doors, his gaze piercing through hundreds of meters of air. There, he spotted twelve Blue Dragons—transformed into human form—waiting patiently in silence.
They were all in their prime, mature Blue Dragons, and among them, one elder—no small support force. A swarm assault by such a number could obliterate a common duchy.
The Red Dragon’s face remained impassive, but within, he scoffed.
Hmph. Tiamat truly is cunning—slipping in the concept of ‘kingdom territory’ and replacing it with ‘survival space for all Color Dragons.’ And now she sends out so many loyal Farias Blue Dragons, so openly generous… She’s already preparing to extend her power into my realm.
But… does she truly believe I’ll allow it?
