Chapter 305: Snape's Fury
Chapter 305: Snape's Fury
As Kyle stepped onto the stage, cheers erupted from the crowd, with Fred and George's voices being the loudest. They even managed to create a Quidditch-themed banner in just a minute, waving it enthusiastically.
Cedric and Autumn joined the celebration, running with colorful ribbons in their hands.
To be honest, this was the first time Kyle wished he had never met them.
"Alright, Kyle, don't be nervous," Lo Hart said. "I'll teach you a trick. When Flint points his wand at you, do this."
He raised his wand and waved it from side to side, attempting a complex spell, but accidentally dropped it on the ground.
Laughter filled the air.
Lo Hart quickly picked up his wand and said, "Haha... My wand is a bit overexcited."
Snape approached Marcus and whispered something in his ear, causing Marcus to snicker.
"Don't worry," Lo Hart said cheerfully, patting Kyle's shoulder. "Even though he's a sixth-year, as long as you do what I just showed you, there's nothing to be afraid of."
"What? Drop your wand on the ground?"
Lo Hart acted as if he hadn't heard.
"Ready?" he shouted. "Three... Two... One, begin!"
Marcus quickly raised his wand...
"Shield Armor Charm!"
"Blunderbus!"
Whether Snape had advised him or he had learned from his previous mistake, this time Marcus cast a shield on himself first and did not use a dark spell. Instead, he transformed his wand into a thick, long black snake.
Kyle was aware that the Shield Armor Charm was ineffective against this type of spell.
However, Kyle had not intended to continue using the Shield Armor Charm.
As the black snake raised its head to attack, Kyle completed his spell.
"Rapid Sink!"
Marcus stumbled, and his legs suddenly sank into the stage.
The Swamp Charm, which Flitwick had taught in the Dueling Club, could turn hard ground into muddy swamps, and it was one of the commonly used trap spells in duels.
Marcus, caught off guard, wobbled, and his prepared Flame Charm was interrupted.
Kyle dodged the attacking snake and raised his wand.
The snake in mid-air twisted and transformed into a rope, flying back to bind Marcus's wrists and arms.
"Do you concede?" Kyle asked with a smile.
Marcus remained silent, staring at Kyle with hatred while struggling to free himself and raise his wand.
"Alright, I understand."
Kyle took a deep breath and cast the Transfiguration Charm again.
The stage behind Marcus began to rise, transforming into a two-meter-tall stone statue.
To everyone's horror, the statue raised the axe in its hand, paused briefly to gather strength, and then brought it down with great force.
A gasp of shock rippled through the crowd, and people nearby instinctively stepped back, many even covering their eyes, unable to bear witnessing what was about to happen.
"I concede!" Marcus shouted, his voice hoarse with desperation.
"That's enough!"
At the same time, Snape also extended his wand and shouted, "Petrificus Totalus!"
The statue froze in place, and the massive axe blade halted in mid-air.
"Do you intend to kill Flint?"
Snape roared in anger, "Hufflepuff, minus one hundred points..."
"Professor, I think you've misunderstood," Kyle said, interrupting him. "If you look closely, you'll see that I meant this."
"Kyle is right, Professor Snape," Lo Hart said as he walked over to examine the statue.
"The axe is off by a foot. Even if it fell, it would only hit the stage next to it, and Flint wouldn't be harmed at all."
He continued cheerfully, "When I traveled to Vaga, I often used this method to scare off evil creatures. They all realized their mistakes and never dared to harm anyone again."
Snape didn't listen to Lo Hart's explanation.
"Why did you do that..." He turned to Kyle and said coldly, "When a simple Disarming Charm could have won you the victory."
"I'm sorry, Professor Snape," Kyle said. "I just learned the Disarming Charm today and am not yet proficient at it. This was a simpler option."
Snape's face turned grim.
In the advanced class for seventh-year students, partial transfiguration is a high-level technique... easier than the Disarming Charm?
How could he say such a thing? Did he think everyone was as clueless as Lo Hart?
Professor Snape's chest heaved violently, and he couldn't be bothered to argue with Kyle anymore. He pointed towards the direction of the Great Hall's entrance.
"Hufflepuff, minus fifty points!"
"Get out, now!"
Kyle didn't say anything and left the Great Hall with his wand in hand.
He had originally planned to observe who was acting abnormally during the Dueling Club, but it seemed like he wouldn't have that chance now.
So far, everyone he knew, including Ron, Harry, and Lo Hart, seemed no different from usual. None of them appeared to be under the diary's control.

There was no point in continuing to watch.
"I knew I shouldn't have come. Fifty points down the drain," Kyle sighed as he left the Great Hall.
At this moment, Conna, Cedric, and the others also walked out.
"Thanks to you, Kyle," Fred laughed, "I wanted to leave a long time ago, but I never found the right opportunity."
"Yeah, we can't learn anything from Lo Hart and Snape," George glanced at the Great Hall's entrance, "I don't think the Chamber's monster would bow to me either."
As he spoke, he imitated Lo Hart's hand gestures, "Oh... this gesture is so stupid."
"Your stone statue just now was so cool," Cedric said, "I didn't expect Professor McGonagall to have just mentioned partial transfiguration last week, and you've already mastered it."
"That's the one," Conna pointed at a stone statue near the Great Hall's entrance, "It's exactly the same as the one you transformed."
The group chatted non-stop, not giving Kyle a chance to speak.
"I..."
Kyle had barely spoken when Cedric patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry about the points," he said with a smile, "It's just fifty points. We Hufflepuffs don't care about that."
"Yeah," Fred agreed, "Gryffindor is always at the bottom, but we're still happy. It's just a matter of getting used to it."
"If I could teach that Marcus Flint a lesson, I'd take a hundred points."
Professor McGonagall probably wouldn't be happy to hear that.
"I didn't really care about the points either," Kyle laughed, "Don't forget that last year, Snape could deduct fifty points from me in just two classes."
"That's true..." George nodded, "See, I said we didn't need to comfort him."
"If I had known, I wouldn't have said those insincere words," Fred muttered, "Actually, we do care about the points."
It was already quite late, and the group parted ways at the staircase.
Back in the empty Hufflepuff common room, Cedric was still talking about Kyle's transfiguration charm.
"It's a shame Professor McGonagall wasn't there; otherwise, she wouldn't have let Snape deduct the points..."
"I was just trying it out," Kyle said, "Maybe the stage was pieced together and not a real whole, so it was much simpler to manipulate."
"That's still impressive," Cedric sat on a sofa, "Such a large stone statue... Even with normal transfiguration, I could only transform it roughly, let alone make it move flexibly."
"It doesn't need to be flexible; that's too complicated. Just focus your energy on the most critical parts," Kyle said, "Like just now, I used the statue's weapon to guide its arm movements..."
"Do you mean... the continuity of the transformed object? But in normal circumstances, the statue's arms are fixed. Doesn't it require diverting a portion of your magic power?"
"Not for the statue, but for armor..."
"Armor... I see, I understand now. You changed its structure from the beginning," Cedric said excitedly, "I should have thought of that. Professor McGonagall mentioned it before..."
Conna stood by, blinking in confusion.
What's going on... These two were fine a moment ago, but now they're discussing transfiguration, and she couldn't understand a word they were saying.
