Chapter 304: Your Otsutsuki Gift has Arrived [77]
Chapter 304: Your Otsutsuki Gift has Arrived [77]
"Come back, Orochimaru."
Feng Ye smiled at Orochimaru and said, "Provide Konoha with more research results, and there's no need to waste time researching immortality anymore because... I've already mastered that technique."
Possessing the Rinne Sharingan, the eyes that control life and death.
Life and death are nothing but the Yin Release-natured soul and the Yang Release-natured physical body, and the Rinne Sharingan can control both, allowing the physical body's cells to break free from the shackles of life and death, no longer bound by the limits of cellular division."
"Have you truly mastered such a technique as well?"
Orochimaru looked at Feng Ye, his expression even more astonished than when he had witnessed Feng Ye's punch that shattered a canyon.
Feng Ye nodded slightly, his gaze fixed on Orochimaru.
Buzz!!!
A powerful eye technique surged forth, and in his cerulean eyes, the blue light quickly converged, forming an interlacing light blue pattern resembling a triangular pinwheel.
The pattern that briefly appeared in Feng Ye's eyes made Orochimaru feel as if the world before him had suddenly split into two monochrome worlds, one white and the other black, with his body standing at the juncture of the two.
As Feng Ye's eye technique activated:
The white light spread rapidly, dispelling all darkness and transforming the world before him into a completely white expanse before quietly dissipating.
"You should be able to feel it now."
The pattern in Feng Ye's eyes faded, returning to their usual blue irises, and he smiled gently at Orochimaru.
Orochimaru stood there, dazed. He lowered his head to look at his hands and slowly raised them to examine them closely, sensing the condition of his body.
Having conducted countless experiments on human cells in his extensive research on the Reanimation Technique, he quickly realized that his body had undergone a tremendous change.
It seemed like his cells no longer had a limit to their division!
Human cell division has a limit, and that is what determines lifespan.
The reason he researched the "Transmigration of the Corpse" technique was to change bodies and have his soul parasitize another body, so he could continuously possess young bodies and achieve immortality.
But now...
The limits of cells have been broken, and the absence of a division limit means that his body can permanently maintain its current state and will no longer experience aging.
As Orochimaru sensed the state of his body, he suddenly felt a sense of loss, questioning what he had been doing all this time.
A moment later, Orochimaru snapped out of his daze, his expression turning slightly odd.
Noticing Orochimaru's expression, Feng Ye asked, "What's wrong?"
"It's nothing..."
Orochimaru hesitated for a moment before shaking his head.
Since he had already achieved the "Transmigration of the Corpse" technique, he had used it recently, and the body he currently possessed was no longer his original one but that of a female ninja.
This power that transcended the boundaries of life and death seemed to affect both the body and the soul. With what Feng Ye had done, it seemed like he would have to keep using this body.
But never mind that.
It wasn't that important anyway.
Putting that thought aside, Orochimaru looked at Feng Ye with a somewhat solemn expression and said, "Feng Ye, you should know about the Otsutsuki clan, right?"
"Yes, what about them?"
Feng Ye looked at Orochimaru.
Hearing this and recalling Orochimaru's previous heavily injured state, he vaguely understood something, and a gleam of light flashed in his eyes.
Orochimaru said in a low voice, "I recently encountered a peculiar individual. It might be inappropriate to call him a ninja because he didn't feel like one to me. He claimed to be an outsider, and his name is Otsutsuki Urashiki.
"Mhm." Feng Ye nodded. "Teacher Orochimaru, you must have gathered information about the Sage of the Six Paths, but you probably couldn't find any records predating him, right? About the Sage's mother, Otsutsuki Kaguya..."
Hearing Feng Ye mention Kaguya, Orochimaru's expression turned solemn. "So, this Urashiki is Kaguya's enemy and an enemy to all ninjas?"
"It shouldn't be a problem." Feng Ye smiled. "I'll go look for him. If I get the chance, I should be able to bring back a part of his body for you to research. Teacher, you should return to Konoha as soon as possible. I have a shadow clone in Konoha, so I can go back at any time if anything happens."
As he finished speaking, Feng Ye's eyes lit up with a blue glow, and a pitch-black spatial passage appeared behind him. He stepped into the passage and disappeared from view.
The arrival of Otsutsuki Urashiki was indeed timely; he would make an excellent specimen for Orochimaru's experiments, and who knows, they might even discover something valuable.
Feng Ye felt as though he had received a notification: 'Ding! Your Otsutsuki gift pack has arrived. Please check your inventory.'
"...'
Orochimaru stared at the spot where Feng Ye had vanished for a few seconds before finally shaking his head.
On the other side, Jiraiya had been stiff and awkward throughout the entire exchange. It was only after Feng Ye's disappearance that he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Next to him, the two Konoha-nin, Shiro and Kimimaro, slowly regained their wits after witnessing the incredible display.
Kimimaro, who had been staring at the canyon, took a breath and turned to Orochimaru. His voice trembled slightly as he asked, "Lord Orochimaru, who exactly is that person...?"
"He was once my student." Orochimaru looked at Kimimaro and smiled faintly. "You've heard of him too. He's the Fifth Hokage of Konoha, the man known as the God of Shinobi."
So it was him! Shiro, standing not far away, inhaled sharply.
Both he and Kimimaro were indeed very familiar with that title; one could say that they knew it like the back of their hands. However, neither of them had any idea that Feng Ye had once been Orochimaru's disciple.
Shiro and Kimimaro looked at Orochimaru, and their eyes involuntarily showed even deeper admiration and respect—Lord Orochimaru, to have taught such a ninja as Feng Ye!
In the ensuing silence, Jiraiya coughed a couple of times. He turned to the toad that had been healing his wounds and said, "You can go now, Gamakiri. Go find Fukasaku-san and Shima-san and ask them to use Reverse Summoning to bring me back to Mount Myoboku."
"Yes." Gamakiri nodded and poofed into smoke, vanishing from sight.
Jiraiya propped himself up with a nearby rock and looked at Orochimaru. "What are your plans now?"
"I've gotten what I wanted, so I'll be returning to Konoha." Orochimaru looked calmly at Jiraiya.
Jiraiya nodded at Orochimaru. "Then, we'll be parting ways for now. I'll visit you in Konoha when I have the time."
Soon after, Jiraiya disappeared in a puff of white smoke.
Orochimaru retracted his gaze and glanced at Kimimaro and Shiro. "Let's go."
