Chapter 303: The Wight in the Lake (Third Update)
Chapter 303: The Wight in the Lake (Third Update)
Albanian Great Forest.
Jerry held an open diary in one hand, using a writing spell to control the quill to communicate with Voldemort's soul, while he slowly flew through the forest using a flight charm.
After promising Voldemort to come to the forest yesterday, he teleported to the Greek border early this morning and then used a flight technique to reach the Albanian Republic's great forest.
"Are you sure Slytherin's treasure is nearby?"
"Yes, go another two hundred meters ahead, and you'll see a large tree. That's where Slytherin hid the treasure!"
Voldemort quickly replied in the diary.
Jerry smiled but didn't press the issue. Instead, he focused and flew toward the large tree Voldemort had mentioned.
Although Voldemort's main soul is now barely surviving in the forest, that doesn't mean he is harmless. This place was once where Voldemort studied Dark Magic and served as one of Voldemort's secret bases. He spent a considerable amount of time here after graduating, so there could be traps.
So, being cautious was definitely the right approach.
Above Jerry, twelve robot soldiers were flying invisibly, their remote machine guns and rocket launchers aimed at any potential enemies around him.
About four to five hundred meters behind Jerry, Ebonythroat and Blackdwarf were also invisibly trailing, ready to provide support at any moment.
These were the preparations Jerry had made before entering the forest.
He believed that even if Voldemort were at the peak of his power, his current setup would be sufficient to handle the situation.
"Muggle-Repelling Charm, found it!"
After flying for a while, Jerry keenly sensed the presence of a Muggle-Repelling Charm and saw the large tree Voldemort had mentioned in the diary.
It was indeed a "large" tree, with an estimated diameter of about ten meters, standing menacingly on a small hill.
"Put me next to the tree!"
A line of text appeared in the diary.
Jerry complied and placed the diary next to the tree.
"Hisssss~"
A hissing sound of Parseltongue came from the diary.
As the Parseltongue sounded, the seemingly normal tree began to change. The bark slowly peeled away, revealing a wooden door covered in various snake patterns on the tree's surface.
Jerry narrowed his eyes, picked up the diary again, and carefully pushed the door open, stepping inside.
Behind the door was a corridor adorned with snake carvings. After walking through the long corridor, the space suddenly opened up, and he saw grass, trees, a lake, and a house.
Clearly, Voldemort had used magic to hollow out the center of the tree and then expanded the space using an undetectable extension charm, turning it into a secret base the size of two football fields.
"Use the small boat by the lake to reach the house in the center of the lake. Slytherin's treasure is inside the house!"
A line of text quickly appeared in the diary. Jerry raised an eyebrow, seemingly guessing something, but he didn't object and walked toward the small boat.
Meanwhile, Voldemort, whose soul was sealed in the diary, saw Jerry walk toward the boat without hesitation and knew that everything was fine.
Although this Horcrux was created by Voldemort in his sixth year and contained the soul from that time, it was always carried by Voldemort before being entrusted to the elder Malfoy for safekeeping.
So, Voldemort's activities in the Albanian forest after graduation were also well-known to him.
Jerry stepped onto the boat and began to row, slowly making his way toward the house in the center of the lake.
If his guess was correct, Voldemort should now be possessing some animal, hiding in the house and observing him. He also had a good idea of what was lurking in the lake.
Sure enough, as the boat neared the shore, dozens of pale, waterlogged hands suddenly emerged from the lake, grabbing the boat's edges.
And the diary in Jerry's hand, as if responding to some call, suddenly broke free from Jerry and flew toward the second floor of the central house.
"Wights!"
Seeing the hands gripping the boat, Jerry was not surprised. He stood up and cast the flight charm.
However, to his surprise, the flight charm failed.
He then tried the Phantom Shift, but it also failed.
Clearly, someone had cast spells in this area to prevent flight and Phantom Shift.
"Flight charm—segment one!"
A pair of large, white wings unfolded from Jerry's back. With a gentle flap, he ignored the anti-flight spell and took to the air.
The spells set up here could only affect this world's flight charm, but not Jerry's modified version that used wings to fly.
"Summon Dragon!"
With a wave of his hand, ten massive Fire Dragons appeared out of thin air, raining fire down on the wights emerging from the lake.
A boat on a lake—this was Voldemort's forte.
He remembered from the movies how Dumbledore and Harry were once trapped by Voldemort's scheme when they went to find Salazar Slytherin's locket.
Although he couldn't yet perform Dumbledore's Path of Fire, his self-created Dragonfire Spell could still effectively counter these wights.
Moreover, he wasn't alone.
"Ratatat. Boom. Boom..."
Just as Jerry used the Dragonfire Spell to clear a patch of wights, the twelve robot soldiers that followed him into the lake activated their shoulder-mounted machine guns and back-mounted rocket launchers, sweeping through the wights below.
Additionally, Ebonythroat appeared, controlling the trees and stones within the Spatial, turning them into sharp weapons that darted through the wights. Blackdwarf stood on the shore, sweeping through the wights with a large battle axe as they tried to climb onto land.
In the end, Jerry only had time to cast one offensive spell before the wights were all eliminated.
"You guys are really efficient!"
Jerry smiled but didn't say much more. He flapped his wings and landed on the house in the center of the lake.
At this moment, the Horcrux diary, which had already merged with Voldemort's main soul in a snake's body, was watching the scene outside the window, utterly stunned.
And Voldemort's main soul, looking at his younger self in the diary, was speechless:
"Is this the body you prepared for me?"
You must be tired of living too easily and want to give me some excitement!
"I was tricked by this kid, but his soul already carries the essence I left behind. We should be able to possess him without much trouble!"
At this point, Voldemort's soul in the diary knew he had been deceived by Jerry's disguise, but he still believed there was a chance of success.
