Chapter 302: A Heavily Wounded Orochimaru 【57】
Chapter 302: A Heavily Wounded Orochimaru 【57】
Jiraiya looked towards the direction of the voice with difficulty.
Three figures emerged from the shadows, led by a boy of about twelve or thirteen years old. He had two red dots on both sides of his forehead, grayish-white hair, and a vigilant gaze. In each hand, he held a chilling white bone.
He was Kimimaro of the Kaguya clan.
Behind him were Orochimaru and another young man.
At that moment,
Orochimaru was leaning against the other young man, his face pale, seemingly gravely injured. Jiraiya could sense that Orochimaru's chakra and aura were in disarray, and his chakra felt exceptionally weak.
Jiraiya and Orochimaru locked eyes, each seeing the strangeness in the other's gaze. Neither expected to encounter the other in such a battered and injured state.
"You met that guy too?" Orochimaru rasped, his voice hoarse. He struggled to retract his hand and swayed slightly as he spoke to the person next to him. "Kabuto, tend to his wounds."
"Yes."
The one who should have been Momochi Zabuza's attendant, Kabuto, had been reminded by Feng Ye and coincidentally found by Orochimaru. He was now one of Orochimaru's subordinates.
Kabuto acknowledged with a reply and immediately rushed towards Jiraiya. After examining Jiraiya's injuries, his expression turned grave. "Lord Orochimaru, his wounds are severe. I cannot heal them."
"Cough... cough... it's fine." Jiraiya coughed a few times, blood trickling from the corners of his mouth. He looked at Kabuto and said, "Help me get rid of these, and I can use my summoning technique..."
Kabuto glanced at Orochimaru and, with his consent, promptly pulled out the bones embedded in Jiraiya and placed his hand on Jiraiya's arm.
With Kabuto's assistance, Jiraiya struggled to press his hand to the ground and released his summoning technique.
Bang!!
A not-so-large toad was summoned, and upon seeing Jiraiya's injuries, it exclaimed in shock, "Jiraiya? How did you get so badly hurt...?"
Jiraiya, breathless, said, "Hurry up and help me with the treatment..."
"Okay."
The toad responded and immediately shot out its tongue, wrapping it around Jiraiya's wrist. Viridescent chakra flowed into Jiraiya's body, swiftly halting the deterioration of his wounds.
After receiving some treatment, Jiraiya's complexion improved, and he no longer coughed up blood continuously. He asked,
"Feng Ye really went all out on you... How did you get injured like this?"
Orochimaru was taken aback, a strange light flashing in his eyes. "Your wounds were inflicted by Feng Ye? Is he nearby?"
He had assumed that Jiraiya had encountered the same opponent and had been beaten to this state. Now it seemed that wasn't the case.
"Yes..." Jiraiya replied breathlessly. "Feng Ye isn't nearby; he should be dozens of miles away by now."
He didn't explain how Feng Ye had injured him. Instead, he looked at Orochimaru with a slight frown and asked, "How did you end up like this? Who did you encounter?"
"A tricky fellow," Orochimaru croaked. "A chakra I've never seen before. I intended to capture him for my experiments, but..."
He didn't finish his sentence.
He had been found by someone near his base who intended to capture him for experiments. However, the person ended up defeating him and destroying his entire base.
Fortunately, Kabuto and Kimimaro had been carrying out his task elsewhere, and he had managed to resurrect himself using the power of the Cursed Seal from Kabuto's body. Just as he was about to find a quiet place to heal, he unexpectedly ran into Jiraiya.
Due to Orochimaru's injury, Kimimaro was highly vigilant and instinctively regarded Jiraiya as an enemy, immediately throwing several bone spears at him.
As one of the Sannin, he was well aware of Orochimaru's strength, and there were not many ninjas who could defeat him. Even those who could win against Orochimaru would usually find it difficult to truly defeat him. Orochimaru excelled in survival and regenerative abilities, often allowing him to retreat calmly.
But this time, Orochimaru was clearly badly wounded, and both his physical condition and chakra state were in a dire state.
Jiraiya hadn't seen Orochimaru this weak in many years.
"Which way did Feng Ye go?" Orochimaru asked in a low voice, looking at Jiraiya.
Jiraiya was now able to sit up with some effort. He leaned against a tree and pointed in the direction from which he had flown, saying, "In that town, several dozen miles from here..."
"I want to meet Feng Ye. Are you coming with me?" Orochimaru asked Jiraiya, a strange glint in his eyes.
He probably guessed how Jiraiya had been attacked by Feng Ye from dozens of miles away and thought that Jiraiya wouldn't be bold enough to deliberately provoke Feng Ye. It seemed more likely that Jiraiya had just had the bad luck to encounter Feng Ye.
"I'll pass." Jiraiya replied weakly.
He wanted to live a few more years and write a few more books.
"I haven't even seen anything yet..." Jiraiya muttered softly, feeling a little aggrieved.
Just then, a voice suddenly came from beside him, calm and flat.
"If you had seen something, you would be dead by now."
Jiraiya's body stiffened at the sound of the voice.
White, who was beside him, paled, a look of shock on his face. He instinctively gripped a kunai—someone had approached so close without him noticing!
Kimimaro's reaction was even more intense. He abruptly sidestepped, bone spurs extending from his hand, and immediately threw two bone spears at the source of the voice.
In that direction.
Feng Ye, wearing a white bathrobe, was floating in the air.
Facing Kimimaro's attack, Feng Ye casually flicked his finger, deflecting the two incoming bone spears.
Seeing this, Kimimaro's pupils contracted, and he crossed his hands in front of him, causing the two bone spears to appear in his palms. He stared at Feng Ye with utmost vigilance.
This guy is strong! If he could appear nearby without him or White noticing, it was a testament to Feng Ye's exceptional ability to conceal his presence. But the way he just flicked away Kimimaro's bone spears revealed his immense strength. Kimimaro's bone spears could pierce steel, yet Feng Ye deflected them with just his fingers! Both his speed and power were terrifying!
"... "
Feng Ye was unfazed by Kimimaro's sudden attack.
After knocking Jiraiya away, he had glanced in their direction and, intending to check on Jiraiya's condition, had spotted Orochimaru's figure and sensed that he was badly wounded. So he had put on his bathrobe and hurried over.
Whoosh! Feng Ye's figure vanished from its original spot and reappeared in front of Orochimaru.
"!!"
Kimimaro, who was guarding Orochimaru, had his face twisted in surprise.
Such speed...
He was stunned by Feng Ye's ability.
Not knowing whether Feng Ye was friend or foe, Kimimaro instinctively swung the bone spear in his hand toward Feng Ye, trying to force him away from Orochimaru.
