Chapter 301: Greek Ministry of Magic
Chapter 301: Greek Ministry of Magic
Athens, the capital city, and the Ministry of Magic.
"Welcome to Athens!"
A spatial distortion, and the scene before Jerry had changed dramatically. He disappeared from a room made of brick walls and wooden floors and reappeared in a room entirely constructed of marble columns.
"Thank you!"
Jerry politely nodded to the young Greek Witch standing before him, dressed in a wizard robe that was quite different from those worn in London. The robe was a half-shoulder chlamys cloak, reminiscent of the attire of gods in Greek mythology.
Since he was planning to travel to Greece, Jerry had spent some time learning the Greek language and script. Although he was still a bit hesitant, basic communication was not a problem.
It's worth noting that without the Brain Boost from the red stars, learning various languages would have been a significant challenge for him. Someone like Dumbledore, who not only mastered the languages of different countries but also the languages of various magical races, was truly a genius.
The wizard robes in Greece were different from those in London, featuring a half-shoulder chlamys cloak that closely resembled the clothing style of the gods in Greek mythology.
So, the first impression Jerry had of the female Greek Witch was quite favorable.
"Sir, turn right and go down to the third-floor hall to register, and then you can start your tour!"
Guided by the enthusiastic Greek Witch, Jerry left the Portkey Office and arrived at a marble staircase that was constantly rotating. The entire Greek Ministry of Magic, though not as large as its British or French counterparts, only had five floors.
This might be due to the relatively small number of witches and wizards in Greece today.
The architectural style was heavily influenced by the temples of Greek mythology, almost entirely made of white marble, with many columns carved with various fantastic beasts. It resembled the Twelve Houses of Sanctuary from the anime Saint Seiya.
Instead of the fixed, box-like magic elevators used in the London Ministry of Magic, the Greek Ministry used a type of moving staircase, similar to those in a mall. However, these were powered by magic, not electricity, with two marble staircases, one moving up and the other down.
Jerry was currently on the fourth floor, so he only needed to step onto the downward-moving marble staircase to be taken to the third-floor hall.
Perhaps because it was summer, there were many tourists visiting Greece. When Jerry reached the registration desk in the hall, there were already a dozen people in line.
From their attire, it seemed that witches and wizards from various countries were present.
After completing the registration and being informed of the rules that must be followed in Athens, Jerry left the Greek Ministry of Magic. Before leaving, he bought a map from a Greek Witch selling them in the hall. This wasn't an ordinary map but a magical one that marked all the special places known only to witches and wizards in Greece and Athens.
Now, as he stepped out of the Ministry of Magic, he intended to use the map to find a magical inn to stay at and explore the Greek wizarding street. His plan was to first tour Greece, learn about the local magic, and make a few special fantastic beasts his allies. When the time was right, he would return and head to Albania to find Voldemort's main soul and seal it.
As for the thoughts of the young Voldemort in the diary, he no longer cared.
The young Voldemort's magical knowledge had already been thoroughly sifted through, so it was no longer as significant.
Voldemort's diary, after all, was merely a Horcrux created by Voldemort in his sixth year, containing the soul of the sixteen-year-old Voldemort.
At that time, Voldemort had already mastered a considerable amount of Dark Magic and had impressive power, but to say that he was truly formidable or had achieved greatness in magic was an exaggeration.
At least compared to the Dark Lord Voldemort who initiated the First Wizarding War, the younger Voldemort was far less powerful, perhaps just a bit more clear-headed!
Thus, the remaining value of Voldemort's diary now lay in helping him find the fragmented soul of Voldemort.
Once he found the fragmented soul, the moment would come to seal the young soul in the diary into the Matryoshka Doll, as it would have no further use.
"Who would have thought that I wouldn't travel much in the Main World, but I'd end up touring the world in this Mini World!"
Walking through the streets of Athens, Jerry marveled at the ancient and unique city of Athens in 1992. He thought that even if he hadn't come to study magic, the trip would have been worth it just for the tourism.
Without using magic, he followed the icons on the magical map, admiring the scenery as he made his way toward the Greek Wizarding Street.
Greece is the cradle of Western civilization, and Athens is the capital of Greece.
Unlike many modern cities with skyscrapers, this city is filled with ancient Greek architecture that spans its every corner.
If you are a witch, you can also discover many traces of magic in these buildings.
As he walked and looked around, Jerry soon arrived at the center of Athens, the highest point of the city, the Acropolis of Athens.
This city on a hill, with a history of over two thousand years, is now in ruins but records the highest achievements of Greek civilization in architecture and sculpture, as well as its cultural atmosphere.
Thus, countless Muggles visit here every year.
The Greek Wizarding Street is hidden beneath this citadel, or rather, within the Acropolis.
Instead of joining the throngs of tourists from around the world queuing to buy tickets at the entrance to the citadel, Jerry followed the magical map's instructions and walked down a small path to a clear pond at the foot of the hill.
Here, Jerry could clearly sense that a Muggle-Repelling Charm had been cast around the pond.
On either side of the pond, close to the hill, stood two marble-carved statues of Spartan Warriors, each over three meters tall and incredibly muscular.
Following the map's instructions, Jerry channeled a stream of magical power into the pond's water.
Stimulated by the magical power, the two immobile Spartan Warriors suddenly came to life.
They extended their muscular arms, each grabbing a stone on either side of the pond near the center of the hill, and with a powerful pull, the pond and the hill split open, revealing a long passageway.
Clearly, this was the entrance to the Greek Wizarding Street.
Without hesitation, Jerry stepped into the passageway.
As Jerry disappeared into the tunnel, the hill and the pond returned to their original state, and the two marble Spartan statues closed their eyes once more.
